The old man quickly reassured his wife, who was fluttering around like a moth, "We've suffered a loss, but at least we found out. Xingping isn't that old, and it's not too late for him to want his own child. We're wealthy; we can find him a younger wife and let him have the baby. It's better than him dying without us even noticing, right?"
The old lady was even angrier at the thought of almost being deceived her whole life. "She's not even our child! She didn't take her with her after the divorce, and now we have to support her! This is outrageous! I'd skin her alive!" How dare she do that!
"Alright, that's enough with the venting. Xingping is already suffering enough; we're just making things worse." The old man sighed helplessly. He was also filled with resentment; they had ruined half of his grandson's life.
The old lady's eyes reddened, and she wiped away her tears. "Xingping had just started to cheer up when... Why is this child's life so miserable?"
“Sister-in-law, a man in his forties is in his prime. What’s the big deal? It’s good to experience some setbacks when you’re young. It’s a good time to reflect and mature. It’s not all bad. That child is innocent. He’ll mature quickly after experiencing some things. Once he gets through this, he’ll be transformed. It’s not all bad.” Old Man Guan comforted his elder brother.
"It's not a bad thing, it's giving you such a cheap son," the old woman said indiscriminately.
"It's not like I don't have any either," Old Man Guan said with a grin.
The old lady glared at the old man Guan and said, "Your asshole is so big, it's like your heart has been pulled down."
Old Guan wasn't angry. He just chuckled and said, "Let my sister-in-law scold me. Just don't get upset."
The Li family first went to the residence of Xingping's ex-wife.
Li Hang knew the results would be out today, but he didn't care too much. How could he not be his biological son? Once his father saw the results, he would definitely come to pick him up and apologize. Then he would persuade his father to let the family live a good life together and stop making trouble in the future.
Xingping knew his ex-wife lived near the school, but not exactly which household. He called Li Hang and asked, "Where does your mother live?"
Li Hang exclaimed with delight, "Dad, you're here?"
Upon hearing the word "Dad," Xingping felt a mix of emotions and gave a vague, perfunctory reply.
"Dad, I'm coming out to meet you!" Li Hang ran happily out of the house.
Xingping's ex-wife's face lit up with surprise. She quickly looked in the mirror, put on some lipstick, changed into a low-cut dress, stepped out the door, thought for a moment, then went back inside and sat down, looking at the doorway.
Feeling a little smug, she said that no man could possibly be separated from her and her child.
Li Hang was taken aback when he saw Xingping and the group of people behind him as he went outside. "Dad? Why are there so many people?"
Xingping stood at the entrance of the alley and saw Li Hang come out of the courtyard. He ignored Li Hang and strode into the courtyard. The second brother, Young Master Bai, quickly followed and hit him a few times to vent his anger, but he couldn't kill him.
The people behind them quickly followed.
Li Hang was stunned. "Grandpa and Grandma, why are you both here?"
Li Mantun looked at his grandson, whom he had doted on for sixteen years, with a complicated expression. Liu Cuihua felt a pang of heartache when she saw Li Hang.
When Xingping's ex-wife saw him enter the hospital, she couldn't help but smile. "Xingping, you're finally here! I've missed you so much. Our family can finally be reunited..."
Upon hearing the voice and seeing the woman, Xingping's bloodshot eyes turned even redder, and he clenched his fists before rushing inside.
His ex-wife stood up, thinking that Xingping was excited and wanted to hug her, and tugged at his collar.
A fist the size of a sandbag was right in front of her; a sharp pain shot through her, and she collapsed to the ground. Xingping's massive fist slammed repeatedly into his ex-wife's head.
