"Is there any food left?" After a whole morning of running around, Li Mancang was starving.
The old lady said, "What are your wife and Xiao Liu doing making spicy hot pot? Go check in the kitchen."
"What is this? Give me a bowl too, I'm exhausted." Old Man Guan was starving and couldn't come back because he was stopped.
"How's it going? Nobody's scolding you, is he?" the old lady asked with a smile.
"Sister-in-law, I can't go out lately. Having such a good reputation is a burden. Everyone keeps asking me questions and praising me. It's impossible for me to go out without getting up to say a word," Old Man Guan complained, his eyebrows practically flying with pride.
“And the old lady still wants to live with him,” Li Mancang said with a smile.
Old Man Guan quickly glanced into the kitchen and said, "Shut up, how can you say such things? Won't it affect our newlywed relationship?"
"You didn't agree, so what are you afraid of? Are you getting all scheming after seeing so many old ladies?" The old lady glanced at the old man.
Old Man Guan: "Sister-in-law, am I that kind of person?"
Old lady: You are
Old Man Guan… “Little Liu, my wife, what are you doing? I’m hungry.”
The old woman shuddered, goosebumps forming all over her body; that's how that old man yells on TV.
Sister Liu came out carrying two bowls of spicy hot pot. "You're back just in time! Come and try the spicy hot pot, how's it?"
"My wife's cooking is definitely delicious," Old Man Guan said with a smug smile. "Little Liu's skills are better than anyone else in the Li family, not even the nanny."
Wu Zhiqi also brought out two bowls, saying, "Mom and Dad, you should try some too."
The group sat down at the table, and Old Man Guan took a bite. "Delicious! How did you prepare these vegetables? They're so delicious, and they're spicy!"
The old man took a bite, but said it was too spicy and he couldn't eat it.
The old lady and Li Mancang thought it was quite delicious.
"It tastes good, delicious," the old lady commented.
Wu Zhiqi: "Mom, it sells for 15 yuan a pound outside, and those vegetables are still soaking in water, so they weigh a lot."
The old lady rummaged through the contents of her bowl, which contained only vegetables, glass noodles, mushrooms, and the like. "15 yuan a pound? Isn't that ripping people off? Will anyone eat that?"
"There's a long queue, so many people!" Sister Liu said with a smile.
The old lady said, "Maybe the soup base is expensive."
Ms. Liu: "The soup base isn't expensive, but the recipe is hard to figure out. Mine is still a bit lacking. I'll go to the shop early tomorrow morning and learn from them."
“Open a real business, the recipe is in your hands, and you can hire people in the shop.” The old lady ate the tofu puffs and thought that this money was really easy to make.
Ms. Liu: "That's what I was thinking too. The shop you gave me is in a good location, perfect for opening a mala tang (spicy hot pot) shop."
Old Man Guan said, "You really want to do it? We have enough money at home, really, you don't need to worry."
Sister Liu rolled her eyes at him and said, "I can't stay idle. I won't give you the money I earn, so don't worry about me."
Old Guan grinned, "Alright, hurry up and eat. My legs aren't much help anyway."
Zhou Changshun was verbally abused as soon as he went out today. A group of old men and women pointed their fingers at him and cursed him. Zhou Changshun had been staying at the hospital these past few nights and hadn't watched TV, so he was being cursed for no reason. He couldn't stand it and argue back, but more and more old men and women joined in, and he had no choice but to flee.
When I got to work, my boss called me in for a talk. He said, "Can't you keep your thoughts about your stepfather's property to yourself? Isn't it crazy to talk about it on TV?" My boss told me to suspend my duties, go home to handle my family matters, and eliminate the negative impact before returning to work.
Zhou Changshun quickly called the host, who happened to be looking for him to record a follow-up segment.
"Brother, everyone I met today was cursing at me. What should I do?"
"I don't know, I'm not in charge of post-production. I had something to do last night and didn't watch the show. I'll ask for you in a bit," the host said, feigning ignorance.
