Chapter 114: Testing

"This little fox!" Although he still had that friendly smile on his face, Brother Leopard cursed fiercely in his heart. This Zhao was obviously a veteran in the business world. From the moment he sat here, he had not been able to get anything valuable from this guy.

Although several indirect attempts were rejected by the other party without leaving any trace, Brother Leopard did not intend to give up. Since he could not get anything out of Zhao Xiaohai directly, there were others, such as Sophia, who always looked confused.

Although Zhao Xiaohai said that this woman was his secretary when he introduced her, Brother Bao would never believe it. Based on his intuition, he thought that Sophia should still be a serving officer in a certain unit in the Soviet Far East. If this was confirmed, then all his previous guesses would be basically accurate.

Leopard Brother quickly thought about it, using the motion of drinking coffee as a cover, and then quickly came up with an idea. He put down the cup, pushed the application documents on the table in front of Zhao Xiaohai, and said with a smile, "Okay, since Mr. Zhao is so cautious, I won't ask any more questions. I accept your commission. Take a look at these documents, and sign the parts that require your personal signature now."

"Then I wonder how many days it will take to complete these procedures?" Zhao Xiaohai nodded, picked up the pen on the table, and asked casually while looking down at the documents.

"If it's faster, about five days will be enough. However, the handling fee will be relatively higher, after all, we need to take care of it." Brother Leopard glanced at Sophia and said, "Of course, if Mr. Zhao is not in a hurry, then it will not take more than two weeks at most."

"Then let's do it as quickly as possible. The handling fee is not a problem," Zhao Xiaohai said without looking up from the document in his hand. "You know, we have a batch of goods in hand, and now we are waiting here. I think the domestic steel price will rise again in July... Oh, should I sign this?"

Leopard Brother had been waiting for this opportunity. He pretended to be careless as he leaned over the table and pointed toward the spot where Zhao Xiaohai's signature would appear on the document. The glass coffee table in the hotel cafe was small, and with the large pile of file folders stacked on top, the remaining space was even smaller. Therefore, Leopard Brother's casual movement caused him to "accidentally" bump into a file folder, which naturally bumped into the porcelain coffee cup in front of Sophia.

"Here, this is it." As Leopard finished speaking, the porcelain coffee cup in front of Sophia was bumped by the file folder. Fortunately, Sophia was quick and reached out to pick up the cup before it fell over. But for Leopard, this was enough; he just needed to find an opportunity to strike up a conversation; knocking over the cup was not necessary.

"Do we need to stamp it again?" Zhao Xiaohai lowered his head, not noticing Brother Bao's little trick. He looked at the place where a stamp should be placed on the document and said with a frown.

"Yes, this procedure is necessary," Brother Leopard gave Sophia an apologetic smile and casually said, "The company's legal representative's personal seal and the company's official seal must be registered with the relevant departments. But if Mr. Zhao hasn't done so yet, it's okay. We can do it for you. You just need to sign your name where the signature should be changed."

Zhao Xiaohai nodded in understanding, then signed the document. Being a boss in 1986 wasn't easy. Starting a company required sixteen signatures and other formalities. And that was with an agent. Otherwise, you'd have to run around to every bureau and department.

While Zhao Xiaohai was busy signing, Brother Leopard turned his attention to Sophia who was sitting quietly beside him. In his opinion, this blonde girl with an indifferent face was just a low-class youngster. He only needed to use a little trick to find out all her secrets.

Honestly, from the moment they met today, Sophia had been wary of this Chinese man. Intuitively, she felt he posed a significant threat, a threat that came from nowhere and was inexplicable. Because of this feeling, coupled with her complete lack of understanding of company affairs, Sophia remained almost silent throughout the lengthy meeting.

He stared at Sophia for a while without blinking, and when a puzzled look appeared on her face, Brother Leopard smiled and said, "Miss Sophia's skills seem quite good. You've been in the army for quite a while, right?"

Sophia could never have imagined that this Chinese man who made her feel uncomfortable would suddenly ask such a question. She was not wearing a military uniform today, so how did the other party know that she was in the army?

"How do you know I'm in the army? You..." Confused, Sophia asked without thinking.

"Ahem!" Zhao Xiaohai cut Sophia off with a dry cough. As a former thug who'd swindled his way through the business world, he was all too familiar with Leopard Brother's childish tactics. He sensed his intentions the moment he opened his mouth. It was just that he was signing, and Sophia's response was a bit too quick, so Leopard Brother ultimately prevailed.

"Haha, you don't even know this. Brother Leopard knows magic, he can calculate it." After glaring at Sophia fiercely, Zhao Xiaohai said with a forced smile, his tone already revealing obvious displeasure.

"No matter how cunning you are, you still fell into my trap." Brother Leopard chuckled inwardly. He had undoubtedly learned what he wanted to know from Sophia's words, thus confirming his initial suspicions—this Zhao guy was indeed in league with the Soviet Far East Army.
