Chapter 39 Buy Another Basket

"Zhou Xiang, you're here?" Zhou Xiang's sister didn't forget him and came to see him.

"Come and see you. Hmm, you've gained weight. It seems you haven't treated yourself badly." Zhou Xiang felt relieved when he saw Zuo Heng's cheeks had gained weight.

Zuo Heng wiped his hands on the sides of his pants and took the net bag from Zhou Xiang. "Are you here to buy groceries again?"

Then he saw Zhou Yizhou in the courtyard, "Zhou Xiang, who is this?"

"Oh, his name is Zhou Yizhou, just call him Brother Zhou. Brother, this is Zuo Heng, my friend." Zhou wanted to introduce the two people.

Zhou Yizhou’s first feeling when he entered the yard was cleanliness.

The second feeling was that he was not fat enough, because he was not as conspicuous as the thin Zhou Xiang. The boy talked to Zhou Xiang for a few words before he realized it.

Zuo Heng smiled shyly, "Hello, Brother Zhou!"

Zhou Yizhou felt that the boy had a clean and shy smile, and must be a good boy. Well, since he was friends with Zhou Xiang, he must be a good boy.

"Hello, excuse me for disturbing you."

Zuo Heng shook his head: "Don't bother me, I'm happy when someone comes."

As he said this, he put the things in his hand on the kitchen table, and then took the net bag from Zhou Yizhou's hand.

Zhou wanted to go into the house and look around, including Zuo Heng's bedroom.

"Zuo Heng, it seems like you're very comfortable living here. That makes me feel relieved."

Zuo Heng's eyes were still red. "Yeah! Living here is warm and safe. Thank you, Zhou Xiang!"

Zhou Xiang glared at him and said, "Don't say such polite words again in the future. We are friends."

"Okay, okay, we are friends." Zuo Heng turned his face and wiped away his tears.

Zhou Xiang patted his shoulder and said, "Let's go eat. Brother Zhou bought a lot of meat dishes."

The three of them sat down at the small dining table in the kitchen and opened all the lunch boxes.

Zhou Xiang used a bowl at home to spread the rice and filled a bowl for Zuo Heng.

"Eat more. You've gained weight, but you haven't grown taller. Buy some bones to make soup. When I get coal tickets, I'll buy you coal and a stove, and use it to make soup."

Zuo Heng nodded vigorously, "Okay."

Zhou Yizhou ate his meal quietly. Although he was curious about Zuo Heng's affairs, he was too embarrassed to ask.

After dinner, Zhou Xiang briefly explained Zuo Heng's situation to Zhou Yizhou in front of Zuo Heng. "Brother, whether Zuo Heng can go back to school depends on you."

Zhou Yizhou took a long time to digest the thought. A ten-year-old girl saved a thirteen-year-old boy, and she was going to support him, pay for his education, and have him work for her in the future.

This seems like ancient times, but it is real and right in front of me. My sister has a bright future.

He is kind-hearted and visionary. At such a young age, he has done something that even adults may not be able to do. He must be supported.

"Okay, after the New Year, I'll find a way to get Zuo Heng into school. What grade will he be in?"

Zhou Xiang looked at Zuo Heng.

"I was in the fourth grade two years ago. I reviewed the fourth grade materials this month and I know them all."

Zhou Xiang nodded and said to Zhou Yizhou, "Go to the fourth grade. Stay in the fourth grade for one more semester to consolidate your knowledge."

Then he said to Zuo Heng, "You usually study fifth grade on your own. You learn everything in advance. You will know it once the teacher explains it."

Zuo Heng nodded, and Zhou Yizhou just found it funny. Zhou Xiang ordered Zuo Heng like an older sister, and Zuo Heng obeyed like a younger brother.

However, Zuo Heng's experience is indeed heartbreaking. Perhaps it was the hard-earned warmth from Zhou Xiang that made him listen to Zhou Xiang in everything.

Zhou Yizhou left first. Zhou wanted to accompany Zuo Heng to study, so he asked him to bring out everything he didn't understand and explained it to him again.

After the tutoring ended, Zhou Xiang couldn't help but admire this orphan who had achieved success through his own efforts in his previous life.

Zuo Heng is very smart and can draw inferences from one example. He is even smarter than his own brain which has ten times the time plus rebirth.

"Elementary school is easy. If you have time, you can study junior high and high school. I plan to skip a grade in junior high! So you should also use your spare time to speed up your studies and strive to skip a grade. However, if your grades are not outstanding enough, you will not be allowed to skip a grade."

Zuo Heng nodded and decided that he had to catch up with Zhou Xiang's progress in order to help her. From that day on, Zuo Heng's goal was to seize every opportunity to learn more and higher knowledge.

Zhou Xiang left, and Zuo Heng put aside his reluctance and started studying.

Zhou thought of going to the city. Seeing that it was not too late, he called a donkey cart and went to the old man's house he had visited last time.

Liangliang was also in the yard, and his neck was obviously thinner.

"Liangliang."

Zhu Liangliang turned around and saw Zhou Xiang, a smile immediately spread across his face, "Sister, you're here?"

Then, he shouted into the house: "Grandpa, come out quickly, that little sister is here."

Zhou Xiang entered the yard and said to Liang Liang, "My name is Zhou Xiang, just call me by my name."

Zhu Liangliang nodded. "Hello, Zhou Xiang, my name is Zhu Liangliang, the Zhu of Zhu Yingtai."

Liangliang has regained the vitality that a child should have.

Grandpa Zhu came out and saw Zhou Xiang, his face was full of smiles, "The little girl is here, come in and do it."

"No need, old man, I'm here to buy a basket. Do you have one at home?" Zhou wanted to wave his hand. It was too late and he didn't dare to go back to the city.

"Yes, yes. I made dozens more this month."

Zhou Xiang shook his head, "That's not enough! Does anyone else in your village have it?"

Grandpa Zhu nodded. "Yes, do you want this? I'll ask Liangliang to tell them."

"Yes, at least 150. More would be best."

Grandpa Zhu asked Liangliang to go to his second and third grandfather's houses and ask them to bring all the woven baskets.

He then invited Zhou Xiang into the house and asked the donkey cart driver to drive the cart to the door so that he could go into the house to warm up.

The things that were being used to make baskets were still there in the main room, and Grandma Zhu was planning to put them away.

Zhou wanted to stop her, "It's okay, we'll be leaving soon. If you put it away, you'll have to take it out later. It will be troublesome."

Grandma Zhu stopped cleaning up and took out candy and melon seeds to treat Zhou Xiang.

"Girl, Master, come and have something to eat. Girl, thanks to you for buying our basket and for telling us about Liangliang's problem, Liangliang is much better now and has become more cheerful. We old couple don't have to worry anymore."

The donkey cart driver finally understood why the little girl came to the village to buy baskets. It was to take care of the business of the two old people!

Liangliang came back quickly, "Grandpa, Second Grandpa and Third Grandpa will be here soon."

Grandpa Zhu nodded, then moved all his baskets into the yard.

After a while, several people came into the yard. Zhou Xiang went out of the house and saw two old men and six middle-aged men. The old men should be Liangliang's second and third uncles.

The yard was soon filled with baskets.

The old man's house only had sixty-four large baskets and three small baskets because Zhou Xiang had bought them once.

Second Grandpa’s house has ninety big baskets and ten small baskets, and Third Grandpa’s house has one hundred big baskets and fifteen small baskets.
