Ren Qing shook his head. "I learned from the barefoot doctor in the village, and I also tried to teach myself, but it doesn't seem to be working! It doesn't feel right."
Doctor Cao nodded. "Of course they're not right. They're passed down orally, so they're definitely not in line with what's in the books. Learning from me won't be the same as what's in the books. But if you learn it thoroughly, you'll be able to understand it when you read medical books."
Ren Qing smiled, "Doctor Cao, are you willing to teach me?"
Doctor Cao waved his hand. "Just now, Zhou Xiang said it, and I've thought about it carefully. I don't plan to take you in as my apprentice. You can just help out in the clinic. When I have time and feel like it, I'll give you some pointers. When I'm not in the mood and don't want to talk, don't ask me any questions."
Ren Qing nodded repeatedly, "Okay, I'm sure I'll learn a lot from your occasional guidance and from seeing patients in the clinic."
Doctor Cao waved his hand, signaling her to go see her brother, and then asked Zhou Xiang, "Are you relieved about this?"
Zhou Xiang nodded, "I feel relieved knowing someone is by your side. I was planning to ask Erniu to stay for a long time!"
"You! How many times have I told you not to take me as your responsibility? There are so many things in the world, can you possibly carry them all?"
"Putting aside all the causes and consequences, you are the only Chinese medicine doctor in town. I have the ability, so I can take care of you a little longer."
"With great ability comes great responsibility!" Dr. Cao sighed.
