Chapter 228 Earn Your Own Money and Spend It Yourself
Jiang's father was so shocked that he forgot to lower his voice, waking up Jiang Haibing and Jiang Haiyang next door.
The two brothers thought their parents were arguing, so they quickly went outside and pressed their faces against their parents' bedroom door to eavesdrop.
The couple then lowered their voices again.
I could only hear them talking, but I couldn't make out what they were saying.
Jiang Haibing listened for a short while and then told Jiang Haiyang to go back to his room and sleep: "It's okay, it won't make a sound, go to sleep."
"When we were young, we were hot-tempered and never laid a hand on each other. Now that we're old, we just have a few arguments at most."
"It's okay, don't worry, go to sleep."
Jiang Haiyang looked at his older brother: "Then, what about Dudu?"
Jiang Haibing laughed: "Dudu is sleeping soundly; even thunder can't wake him up."
"Besides, with Dudu around, they're even less likely to argue."
Don't worry.
Jiang Haiyang sighed, "What kind of mess is this? Seriously."
"Many of my classmates' parents never argued when they were young, but after their children got married and had children, the old couple started arguing every day."
"Honestly, they have so many things to do at home, aren't they busy enough already?"
"I really don't know what they're arguing about."
"I was thinking that you're not even married yet, how come they're already arguing?"
Jiang Haibing was speechless at his younger brother's words, and raised his hand to slap him: "You don't need to worry about family matters. Your task at this stage is to study hard."
"Our family has finally produced another college student, so don't waste this opportunity."
"I don't expect you to make a lot of money or become a high-ranking official like others. I just hope that when you graduate, you will have a decent job like your second sister."
"Look how capable your sister is now!"
"I'm a teacher, I'm writing, I'm not tired, and I'm making a lot of money."
"Your sister is finally having a good time."
“I only earn money through hard labor, it can’t compare to your sister’s.”
"You must learn from your sister and not from me."
He looked at his younger brother's thin frame with disdain and said, "With your small frame, you won't even be able to support yourself if you try to be like me."
Jiang Haiyang: "..."
Is it really necessary to be so disdainful?
He's just starting to grow taller again, he's not skinny, so why call him small?
He's almost taller than his older brother now.
That's right.
Perhaps because he's been eating well these past two years, he's started growing taller again.
Jiang Haibing is a tall man of 1.89 meters, and Jiang Haiyang is now 1.87 meters tall.
He used to think he could only grow to 1.8 meters tall, which was no match for his older brother's imposing and strong physique, and he even cried in secret.
Unexpectedly, while I was in college and hadn't even made a name for myself in computer science, I started to grow taller.
I was still in puberty, and the little bit of weight I gained last year has all been gone as I've grown taller.
It makes him look tall and thin, like a bamboo pole.
In reality, the family is not short of money. He also follows his second sister's advice to eat a boiled egg every morning and meat and vegetables every two days to ensure he gets proper nutrition.
His health is much better now than it was in high school.
During his second year of high school, when he was growing rapidly, his joints ached so much that he couldn't sleep for nights on end.
He's grown taller without anyone noticing; if his pants and clothes weren't too small, he wouldn't even know he'd grown taller.
But he said it was no use.
Although Jiang Haibing only has a junior high school education, he has developed a domineering older brother mentality since childhood because he is the eldest son and his grandparents' family environment is relatively complicated.
That means his younger siblings have to listen to him, unless they can become as successful as Jiang Jiani, who has had excellent grades since elementary school, in which case he will respect their ideas.
Otherwise, he would suppress any thoughts or actions of his younger siblings that he deems bad.
It's hard to say whether Jiang Haiyang and Jiang Yanni are studying hard in order to gain their status and power at home.
Regardless of what his younger brother thought, once Jiang Haibing was sure that his parents weren't arguing, he coaxed his brother back home and continued to eavesdrop at the door.
Jiang Haiyang pursed his lips and muttered, "Double standards."
Second sister is right, eldest brother is just too hypocritical.
They can mess around, eavesdrop, and do all sorts of outrageous things, while they get beaten up for swearing.
Ahhhhhh.
This is so unfair.
But there's nothing we can do about it because it's unfair.
This is the authority of the eldest brother.
In Jiang's parents' bedroom.
Yang Yuemei was unusually flustered by what Jiang's father said, but she was used to being gentle. Even though she was slightly out of control, with her grandson beside her, she didn't raise her voice, only her speaking speed increased:
"What do you mean by having a lot on your mind? How am I having a lot on my mind?"
"I never thought about buying pearls or jade. I just wanted to walk around and broaden my horizons. How is that considered having something on my mind?"
"Am I destined to spend my whole life revolving around you and your son, making money by cooking?"
"Can't I have my own life, can't I have my own thoughts?"
“Jiang Baoguo, I am a human being, a living, breathing human being.”
"I am not a puppet on your strings!"
Jiang's father was startled by his wife's outburst and quickly said, "No, don't be angry, don't be angry."
"I didn't mean anything by it."
"What I'm saying is, although our family's situation has improved a lot now, it's not good enough for us to be able to travel around like rich people."
"So, my salary is higher now, isn't it?"
"Let me save up some money for a few years first, and then we'll go on a trip, okay?"
"Have you heard of Shaolin Temple? The Shaolin Temple is the place where all martial arts under heaven originated."
"I've heard that Shaolin Temple is different from other temples. How about we go to Shaolin Temple for a trip sometime?"
"And then there's Mount Tai, the foremost of all mountains in the world. If an emperor wanted to secure his throne, he had to go to Mount Tai to worship the Heavenly Emperor."
"How about we go to Mount Tai then?"
"I've heard that the sunrise at Mount Tai is incredibly beautiful. Our daughter has a camera, right? Let's bring it with us and try taking some pictures of the sunrise at Mount Tai, what do you say?"
However, it's unclear whether it was because Jiang's father made too many empty promises, or because Yang Yuemei had been listening to too many things she had never heard before, along with her daughter Jiang Jiani, who had all sorts of wild ideas, and her in-laws, Lu's mother, who had a very open mind.
The more Jiang's father spoke, the more unhappy Yang Yuemei became, and a certain thought in her heart became more and more firm.
She chuckled a few times, and I didn't know what she meant, but then she said, "Who said you have to pay for your own trip?"
"I have hands and feet, can't I earn money myself?"
Jiang's father could hardly believe his ears: "What, what did you say?"
Yang Yuemei thought about it more and more and felt that her idea was feasible. She said, "I said, since you can make money, and I have hands and feet, why can't I make money too?"
"Once I earn money, can't I use it to travel and have fun?"
"It's not like I have to spend your money."
!!
Jiang's father was completely stunned: "You want to make money? How are you going to make money? You've never done any proper work, how are you going to make money?"
