Chapter 18 Gratitude

After hearing what Li Mu said, Ruoruo thought about it and felt that it was not wrong, so she kissed her father on the cheek as a reward.

Li Mu smiled brightly and said, "Then shouldn't you kiss your mother too?"

Ruoruo immediately responded to her father's words, opened her mouth and hands, and shouted: "Mom, hold me."

When Lin Wan saw the conversation between the father and daughter, the blush that had slowly faded away returned to her cheeks. He reached out to take Ruoruo, and Ruoruo pouted and kissed Lin Wan on the face.

Feeling the saliva on Ruoruo's mouth, Lin Wan teased Ruoruo pretending to be disgusted and said, "Oh, it's all saliva, I have to wipe it off."

Hearing this, Ruoruo smacked her lips and took several bites of Lin Wan.

Li Mu looked at the warm scene in front of him, feeling filled with emotion.

If God hadn't given him this opportunity, he would probably never have been able to experience the feeling of having his wife and daughter by his side.

The three of them played around for a while, and then Li Mu found two cans of food and two boxes of malted milk from among the things he had bought and prepared to send them to Aunt Wang next door.

Lin Wan stopped him immediately after seeing this and said, "I'll send it over tomorrow. If you do, Aunt Wang and the others might say something unpleasant, and I'm afraid you'll be unhappy."

...

...

Hearing Lin Wan say this, Li Mu understood immediately, but still insisted on sending it over himself. He couldn't refuse to accept it just because he was afraid of what others might say.

Lin Wan was really unable to resist Li Mu, so she didn't know what to say and just followed Li Mu silently.

Seeing Lin Wan behind him, Li Mu smiled, knowing that the little woman behind him was afraid that he would be wronged.

The family of three walked to the door of Aunt Wang's house. Li Mu looked inside and saw Aunt Wang picking vegetables at the door to prepare dinner.

Li Mu called out, "Aunt Wang."

Aunt Wang raised her head and saw Li Mu. She glanced at him without saying anything. When she turned around and was about to pretend that she heard nothing, she heard Ruoruo's voice coming from behind Li Mu.

"Grandma Wang."

Different from her attitude towards Li Mu, Aunt Wang immediately smiled and walked towards the door, shouting, "Hey, dear, why are you here again?"

Ruoruo immediately broke free from her mother's arms, ran towards Aunt Wang, and threw herself into her arms and acted coquettishly.

Li Mu looked at his daughter and Aunt Wang hugging each other awkwardly.

After Ruoruo's coquettish flattery, Aunt Wang looked unhappy with Li Mu and said to him in a cold voice: "Since you are here, sit inside."

Hearing Aunt Wang say this, Li Mu nodded hurriedly, picked up the things in his hands and followed Aunt Wang who was holding Ruoruo, and walked towards the inner room.

Lin Wan looked at Li Mu with worry in her eyes.

Having lived here for several years, Aunt Wang almost treats Lin Wan as half her daughter. She also knows about the bastard things Li Mu had done before, so she is particularly unhappy when she sees Li Mu. I don't know what Aunt Wang will say to Li Mu this time.

Li Mu, who was in the room, put the things he brought on the table as soon as he entered, and said, "Aunt Wang, thank you for taking care of Wanwan and her daughter for so many years. This is a small gift from me, I hope you can accept it."

Aunt Wang always ignored Li Mu and just played with Ruoruo.

Li Mu was not worried. He just sat quietly in the house and watched the two of them.

While Aunt Wang was playing with Ruoruo, she was observing Li Mu's reaction. Seeing that she had this attitude towards Li Mu, and he always looked at the two of them with a smile, Aunt Wang was very confused.

"Could it be that what Xiaowan told me is true? Has he really changed a lot?"

Seeing Aunt Wang like this, Li Mu knew that she wanted to test him.

Why did Li Mu treat Aunt Wang like this?

In the previous life, when Lin Wan passed away, Aunt Wang was not there. She had gone to her son's house in another city to play. When she came back and learned that Lin Wan had passed away, she was so angry that she fell ill. But when everyone was blaming Li Mu, Aunt Wang always protected Li Mu and did not let anyone hurt Li Mu.

Li Mu knew that Aunt Wang had been living here alone, and Lin Wan often took extra care of her. In her heart, Lin Wan was like a half-daughter to this old man.

Even though she resented Li Mu in her heart, Lin Wan didn't want Li Mu, whom she cared about, to get hurt.

Such a kind old man was abandoned by his only son in his later years and ended up being homeless.

In this life, Li Mu wants to save all those who are good to her and change everything that happened in the previous life.

Aunt Wang saw the change in Li Mu and didn't want to embarrass him anymore. She just said intentionally or unintentionally: "You haven't eaten yet, Ruoruo, do you want to eat at grandma's house?"

Ruoruo looked at her father, thought for a moment, and said, "Can my father eat here too?"

Aunt Wang said awkwardly: "Otherwise, let him starve to death?"

Lin Wan stood at the door for a while, and seeing that the two had not come out yet, she was walking to the door to go in when she heard Aunt Wang's awkward words.

He understood and knew that Aunt Wang would not make things difficult for him. He immediately walked in and said, "No need, Auntie, let's go home and eat."

Hearing Lin Wan say this, Aunt Wang was about to say something when she was interrupted by Li Mu.

"Come to my house for dinner. I'll cook." Li Mu said to Aunt Wang.

"You cook?" Aunt Wang looked incredulous.

When Lin Wan heard Aunt Wang say this, she immediately spoke up for Li Mu, "Aunt, his cooking is delicious. It just so happens that he bought a lot of delicious food today. Come with us to eat."

Aunt Wang was about to refuse, but Li Mu walked up to her, took her hand, and walked out the door.

Suddenly, Li Mu held her arm. Aunt Wang was a little uncomfortable and was about to push him away when she heard Li Mu whisper, "Thank you, Aunt Wang, thank you for taking care of them."

Hearing Li Mu say this, Aunt Wang looked at Li Mu with relief, her eyes a little moist.

Aunt Wang knew that Li Mu was not a bad boy. Whenever there was something going on at her home before, Li Mu would help silently and leave without saying anything. He just liked to drink a little wine, and once he drank he became like a different person.

Now seeing the changes in Li Mu, Aunt Wang is very pleased.

When Lin Wan saw Li Mu taking Aunt Wang away, she picked up Ruoruo and followed them, paying attention to their condition from time to time.

Seeing the two of them being so harmonious together, Lin Wan's heart slowly settled down.

Li Mu sent Aunt Wang into the house, rolled up his sleeves and prepared to go to the kitchen to show off his skills.

Lin Wan had just walked in with Ruoruo in her arms when Aunt Wang came forward and pulled Lin Wan over and asked, "Xiaomu has changed a lot recently. You should observe him more. I don't know how long he can hold on."

After that, Aunt Wang took a good look at Lin Wan and her daughter. Seeing the new clothes they were wearing, she asked, "Did Xiaomu buy them for you?"
