Chapter 269

Silver Ear jumped up silently and opened its mouth to bite the visitor's throat. Luo Wenyuan was startled and quickly stretched out his arm to block it. Silver Ear's sharp teeth bit on it, making a crisp "dang" sound.

Only then did Luo Wenyuan see clearly that the one attacking him was a giant wolf with a pitch-black body. His suit was bitten through by the wolf's fangs. Fortunately, he used the petrification spell on his arm, otherwise a piece of flesh would have been lost.

Qingshan heard the sound and came back to his senses from his daze.

"Wen, Wen Yuan? Why are you here? Don't bite, we're one!"

When Yin'er heard his master's words, he opened his big mouth, licked the tip of his nose with his tongue, and squatted down at the foot of the green mountain, still staring at Luo Wenyuan with his golden eyes.

Qingshan saw that Luo Wenyuan's suit sleeves were torn, and quickly reached out to him:

"Is it not bitten? Let me see!"

Luo Wenyuan reached out and held Qingshan's soft hand, then sat down beside her.

"It's okay. Where did the wolf come from?"

"My new acquisitions, like the red lights, are all my little brothers!"

Luo Wenyuan looked at the majestic black wolfhound and nodded with satisfaction:

"Yes, knowing how to protect the master is better than a red light!"

When Hongdeng heard what Luo Wenyuan said, she became unhappy. She flew up from Qingshan's shoulder and dodged around Luo Wenyuan with a shadowy movement, while shouting words that he could not hear.

Qingshan was relieved to see that Luo Wenyuan was indeed fine, not even his skin was broken, and chuckled:

"The red light is unhappy. It says you are ungrateful!"

Luo Wenyuan paused, remembering that the insect in his eye was caught by the red light, and felt a little embarrassed:

"Uh--well, the red light is mainly responsible for being beautiful!"

The red light stopped flapping around and landed on the head of the silver ear, staggering like a drunk. It covered its eyes with its big claws, looking shy.

Luo Wenyuan rubbed Qingshan's hands, feeling a little cold, so he took off his suit and put it on Qingshan, then picked her up and put her on his lap, holding her in his arms.

"Does the big black wolf have a name?"

"Yes, yes, it's called Tremella fuciformis. Isn't that appropriate?"

Qingshan likes it most when people ask him about his name, and his eyes turn into two crescent moons when he smiles.

"Silver ear?"

"Yes, you see there are two tufts of silver hair on its ears, that's why it's called Silver Ear! Haha!"

Luo Wenyuan looked at the almost negligible silver-gray fur on the black wolf's ears and was speechless.

"Uh—, what a great name!"

Qingshan snuggled in Luo Wenyuan's arms, and felt the sadness in her heart dissipate a lot.

"Wen Yuan, why are you here?"

"Humph, I'm here to take you back! You've been here for half a month, you should be done with your work, right?"

Qingshan buried his face in Luo Wenyuan's arms, his plump and smooth forehead resting against Luo Wenyuan's neck, causing someone's heart to beat faster.

"Well, I want to go back too, but it will take a few days."

Luo Wenyuan sighed, thinking that his grandfather's decision to ask him to come to Hong Kong Island overnight was really wise, otherwise he would have to suffer from homesickness for a few more days.

"Okay, I'm on vacation now, I'll accompany you."

Qingshan hummed, and lay still in Luo Wenyuan's arms. Luo Wenyuan had never seen Qingshan so vulnerable before, and felt distressed and at a loss. He gently stroked her slender arm and asked:

"Qingshan, are you... worried?"

"...I have a relative who left me..."

Luo Wenyuan was shocked. Before he came, he had learned about Qingshan's family. They were all doing well and he had not heard of anyone passing away.

"Dead?"

"No, I just left. I don't know when I'll see you again. Maybe soon, or maybe I'll never see you again in this lifetime..."

"Where did he go? I'll help you find him! As long as he's not the one you arranged as a child, I'll help you find him even if he's on the top of Mount Everest!"

Qingshan's eyes were sore and he was moved:

"Wen Yuan, I have a secret, do you want to know?"

Luo Wenyuan didn't say anything, but gently stroked the loose hair on Qingshan's forehead, his heart and eyes full of doting.

"I haven't figured out what to say yet, but I promise, when the time is right, I'll tell you everything!"

"good!"

Luo Wenyuan gently placed a kiss on Qingshan's forehead, as gentle as a dragonfly touching the water, his heart full of satisfaction and joy.
