After explaining everything, the old men looked at the unkempt people in front of them and felt sorry for them. They urged them to go back and wash up, and then they would come to the village entrance to explain the situation on the mountain in detail.
When Si Cheng returned home, he saw Yun Qi boiling water for him and even putting his change of clothes in the bathroom. It seemed that his mother-in-law had told Yun Qi about it while she was chasing after the baby.
"Brother Cheng, the water's just boiled, and the noodles are ready too. Would you like to eat the noodles first or take a shower?"
"How can someone have such a virtuous wife?" He said, stealing a kiss on her lips, but he knew he was too dirty; the color of his clothes was no longer visible. "I'll take a shower before we eat; I really can't stand being covered in this."
"By the way, honey, get the clippers out and give me a haircut. My hair has grown so long." Actually, his hair wasn't too bad, but he found it hard to stand hair longer than three inches.
Yun Qi casually brought out a hair clipper from her spatial storage; she had prepared a whole box of these things.
Before long, Si Cheng had tidied himself up and walked out looking refreshed.
As soon as they came out, he hugged Yunqi and gave her a deep French kiss. After a long while, Yunqi pushed him away and patted him lightly with a hint of spring in her eyes.
"Hurry up and eat your noodles, or they'll all turn to mush."
"Yes, ma'am!" Si Cheng hadn't had a hot meal in many days and was really missing it.
"Wait a minute, we still need to go to the village entrance. There's something good for you tonight." Si Cheng secretly kept everyone in suspense.
"What is it?" Yunqi was also very curious.
"I won't tell you yet, it's definitely something you've never eaten before."
"You didn't kill tiger meat, did you?"
"Wife, do you think so highly of your husband? If we encounter a tiger, aren't we just delivering food to it? You still want to eat it? You're just dreaming." He then flicked her nose.
Yunqi was amused by his own thoughts. "It's not as exaggerated as you say. I'm just guessing the biggest possibility."
Because of the stable and happy life he has been living with his family in harmony, Si Cheng's mood has gradually become more cheerful. He is no longer as serious as before, even though he is constantly being tormented by those idiots.
When the villagers learned about this orchard, everyone was very happy. In the past, because of fear of danger, and more importantly, because the fruit there was of unknown value and easy to buy, no one had paid any attention to it.
But things are different now. Having an orchard means that everyone can add some vitamins. Even if the fruit isn't very tasty, can't it be made into jam or canned fruit with rock sugar? This way, it can also be a snack for the children.
So everyone agreed to speed up the construction of the wall the next day, with one person from each family going up the mountain together, and then distributing the things they brought back.
After the family had dinner, Yunqi took out an outdoor light from his space and hung it on the wall. Now, Yunqi uses a small generator in his space to generate electricity for a while every week and fully charges all the appliances in the house that need charging. Although it's not as convenient to use electricity normally, they still continue to use it as long as it's usable.
"I'm going out for a bit, I'll be right back." Si Cheng said, picking up the flashlight from the corner and heading out.
"Where is he going?" Mother Yun asked curiously.
"He said he was going to give us a surprise, but he wouldn't tell us before and kept us in suspense."
Dad came out of the kitchen at this moment. "The water in the pot is ready. Why don't you give our little ones a bath first? Look at those two mud monkeys. If you don't wash them soon, the mud on their faces will fall off."
Today, Junjun and Lele were at the village entrance, watching everyone playing with mud. They took the little shovels that their grandma had prepared for them and started waving them around. The two little ones were making a mess with such seriousness that everyone was amused and couldn't stand up straight.
Later, Si Cheng, who happened to be passing by, couldn't stand it anymore. He picked them up one by one and took them home. Seeing that the people in front of him were a bit unfamiliar, he kept shouting, "Big bad guy, beat the bad guy!" which made everyone laugh again.
The mother and daughter each took one child and quickly stripped them naked. Seeing the two little ones about to splash into the bucket of water, Yunqi quickly stopped them.
"Don't rush in. If you go in, this bucket of water will be ruined. Stand outside and let Mom rinse you first." After saying that, she and Yun's mother each held one of them down and rinsed off all the mud on the outside before putting them into the bucket.
Yunqi has prepared many of these large and small bathtubs, and now everyone has one. They've also filled the space under every fruit tree. They've even started slowly filling them with water.
Just as the two siblings were dressed, Si Cheng walked in carrying a large sack on his back and a small sack in his hand.
Yun's father first ran into the yard and glanced outside the gate a few times. Seeing that no one was around, he quickly closed the gate. The current gate is a replacement of the old large iron gate, which was repaired and then reinstalled.
Once inside the house, Mr. Yun asked, "Did you get this from the mountain? You didn't let anyone else see it, did you?"
Si Cheng replied, "No, we came down from the back mountain and put the monkeys directly in their house. To avoid gossip, we didn't tell anyone."
Father Yun nodded and said, "You did the right thing. Although it was agreed beforehand, if everyone sees so much stuff, they will definitely feel unbalanced."
Yun Qi opened the large bag and saw the chestnuts inside. He said to Si Cheng, "This is the surprise you gave me. You didn't think I'd never eaten chestnuts before, did you? You forgot, I still have hundreds of kilograms of roasted chestnuts in my space."
Si Cheng pointed to the small bag beside him, "The surprise is inside."
Before Yunqi could even make a move, the two siblings, not wanting to be left out, grabbed the bag and tried to pry it open. But their father had already tied a knot in the bag, so they anxiously started tearing at it.
"You're everywhere now. I just gave you a bath, so don't get you dirty again." After saying that, she and Yun's mother each grabbed one, gesturing for Si Cheng to reveal his surprise.
As soon as Si Cheng tore open the bag, a pungent smell of blood hit him. He moved the bag to the cutting board and took out a half-roasted rabbit.
"Did you find a rabbit burrow in the mountains?"
Si Cheng didn't answer Yun Qi's question, and instead took out a piece of meat weighing five or six pounds from the bag.
Si Cheng asked them, "Guess what kind of meat this is?"
The meat looks bright red, and the texture is quite fine, so it's hard to guess what it is right away.
