Chapter 11 Market

The market is simply called "Chengnan Farmers Market," a name that's easy to remember.

The market's location here has also boosted the surrounding economy.

Many shops have also settled here, offering a wide variety of goods; you can buy almost anything the residents need for daily life.

The surrounding streets also have a huge flow of people on weekdays, and with the presence of the farmers' market, there is a constant flow of people every day.

Now you can't see any people, only zombies.

After spending some time walking around and stopping frequently, you can see the outer perimeter of the market.

There are tons of zombies here; most people wouldn't dare come. Only the strong have the guts.

This is no joke. To survive among so many zombies, you need to be really capable.

Li Xiao wasn't a brainless idiot; she didn't understand such a simple principle. If it weren't for the huge bug in the spatial ability, she wouldn't even need to think about it.

She only dared to come here after making preparations; she came here without any planning at all, running here so brazenly, she probably didn't come to deliver vegetables.

The zombies outside surrounded her. She parked her electric scooter to the side, took out her curved knife, and prepared to fight.

After observing the market for a while, I found that it was divided into two parts.

On one side is a vegetable market, and on the other side is a wholesale market. A road separates the vegetable market and the wholesale market into two parts.

Both the vegetable market and the wholesale market have four gates: east, south, west, and north. They all face the same direction. The west gate of the vegetable market faces the east gate of the wholesale market, which is just across the street.

Li Xiao's place is close to the wholesale market, so she plans to start collecting supplies there. After walking around, she arrived at the east side, and once she went out, she could see the vegetable market directly.

The wholesale market is laid out like the Chinese character "丰" (feng), with a surrounding "口" (kou) character enclosing the "丰" character. The east side sells grains, rice, flour, and seeds; the south side sells daily necessities, such as pots, pans, and dishes; the west side, which is where she is now, wholesales food items like milk, biscuits, beverages, cigarettes, and alcohol; and finally, the north side sells small commodities such as underwear, socks, handicrafts, and trinkets.

In the middle, there is a road for each type of thing, which is divided into two parts by the street that leads in and out from the east and west.

You can enter from this side, walk in an S-shape, and then exit to the other side.

Looking at the vast market, she was already eager to try her luck. Seeing the zombies quickly closing in, she swung her knife.

Her strength has increased significantly; she can now decapitate someone with a single blow. Although the zombies have evolved and become more powerful, Li Xiao has also made considerable progress.

Constant hacking and slashing is also a form of training.

The weather hasn't cleared up yet, but the temperature is still very high. It's getting hotter and hotter, which makes the zombies rot faster and stink more.

Forget about air quality now; there's no quality to speak of anymore.

There's no limit to how smelly it can get.

Even with a mask on, she couldn't block out the smell; it only kept the flies and mosquitoes from hitting her face.

When too many zombies gathered, I threw stones at them. These were stones I had collected in the neighborhood before. I originally intended them for self-defense; if I couldn't fight them off, I could throw them.

However, it's also good for smashing zombies now; when there are many zombies together, it's faster to smash them.

With a few loud thuds, only a pool of "mud" remained on the ground. The disgusting zombie, now unrecognizable, was now intimately connected with the earth.

It was already scary, but now it's not even scary anymore; it's just a pile of minced meat.

"Tsk," being a human is hard, being a zombie isn't easy either.

It seems that stones are quite useful; we should stock up on more for when we need them.

She kept using stones to collect and release the zombies, and soon several puddles of mud called zombies appeared on the ground.

If she missed a vital spot, she quickly moved forward to finish off the zombies. Before long, she had cleared out a large number of them.

As the number of zombies decreased, she quickly slipped into the first shop near the exit, "Peace Wholesale Department".

There was only one zombie inside, wearing a tattered coat that was so worn that its original color was unrecognizable. His pants were also torn, and he was limping. You could see the thigh bone in his lame leg; there was hardly any flesh left, as it had probably been gnawed clean.

He limped toward her, his dark hands reaching out towards her with a cold glint in his long, shiny black fingernails.

Without a second thought, Li Xiao swung his sword directly at the claws, which were too long, so he cut them off first.

Even with its arms severed, it could not stop its yearning for the breath and flesh of the living.

With another forceful chop, the neck snapped with a "crack".

While his right hand was slashing, his left hand wasn't idle either, quickly sweeping across the shelves and the floor, taking whatever was there and leaving the rest for later.

After slashing the shop owner and sweeping up the goods outside, he rushed into the back warehouse, quickly swept around, and then hurriedly ran out to the next shop.

After repeatedly collecting them, they headed north.

All the clean underwear, socks, baby clothes... I put them all into my storage space. Time was short, so I only did a quick look around; some things I didn't collect. But I can't worry about that now; the uncollected items will be left for others.

In a hurry, I arrived at this side on the east side, and there was so much grain! (^o^)

Li Xiao was overjoyed, like a mouse that had fallen into a rice jar; she couldn't stop smiling.

Northeast rice, 5 jin, 10 jin, 20 jin... flour, flour for cakes, flour for noodles, flour for dumplings, 5 jin, 10 jin, 20 jin... Also glutinous rice, millet, black rice, soybeans, peanuts, mung beans, sesame seeds, brown sugar, white sugar...

Collect it! Collect it! It must be collected. Leaving it here is a waste; wasting food is shameful!

Neither of his hands was idle; they were constantly moving. When he felt his strength waning, he would retreat into his spatial dimension to rest for a moment, then emerge and continue hacking and slashing, collecting and retrieving...

This is a very fruitful day, but I'm also exhausted. I've been so busy that I've lost track of time.

After cleaning up a grain and oil shop, I hid in the back warehouse, closed the door, and slipped into the spatial dimension.

I checked the time on my phone and it was already 1:30 PM. I had been busy for more than two hours and hadn't even noticed that it was already afternoon.

After working non-stop, she was exhausted and only realized her stomach was growling when she stopped.

I took a big gulp of water to moisten my throat; it was sore from being so busy. Then I took out two large meat buns and started munching on them. Time was short, so I kept it simple. I also drank a glass of iced juice, which finally made me feel full.

He took a breath and immediately picked up the knife again.

Time is of the essence; it's already afternoon, and she's hoping to finish this task by then and go to the market before dark.

It's been a few days since the apocalypse, and most of the supplies have been used up. Everyone should be out looking for food and drink now; there's so much here, they might just end up here sometime.

Although ordinary people don't usually come here, we can't rule out the possibility of highly capable individuals.

The survival base has now been built. If one person can't manage, several people can, right? There's also an army.

Let's get to work quickly, time waits for no one.
