Chapter 181 learned

The discussion went on for a long time, and it was getting late.

"Sun Cheng, it's so late, are you alright?" Yu Yanbin looked up at the door; it was already completely dark.

Sun Cheng turned around and glanced outside, then said nonchalantly, "It's alright, there are guards at the base entrance, we can get in anytime."

Yu Yanbin nodded, and Shao Jie said, "That's not bad."

"Captain, are you going back tonight, or are you staying here?"

Yu Yanbin shook his head. "I'm not going back. I'll find out about the situation tomorrow, at least I need to know what's going on with those people recently. I'll see if they have any missions that require them to leave the base."

"Oh, then I'll help you inquire," seeing Yu Yanbin's displeased expression, he quickly stopped himself, "No, Captain, I'll just ask around outside. You know, I still have work at the base and know some people. I'll ask them, and it won't be a problem."

"Okay, don't force yourself. It's okay if you can't find out. Just don't expose yourself to those people. There's no reasoning with them. It's best to be careful."

"I understand, Captain. Now, is there anything I don't understand? I've seen through it all."

Sun Cheng sat on the stool, his face full of sarcasm. It seems there's more to this than meets the eye.

"What's wrong?" Yu Yanbin raised an eyebrow at him. "What happened?"

Sun Cheng waved his hand, "Hey, what else can it be? You can't avoid those things no matter where you are. What's there to say? Things are like this now, the world has changed, what is impossible?"

He stopped speaking. "Captain, is everyone alright?"

Looking at the person staring at him with shining eyes, Yu Yanbin could sense the urgency in his heart.

Yu Yanbin smiled gently, "Everything is fine. They're waiting over there. Once they understand the situation, they'll all come over."

"Really? I haven't seen them in so long, I miss them so much."

Shao Jie interjected, "Hey, you'll see then."

"Hmm." Sun Cheng still cherished the memories of those who had helped him before, and he eagerly awaited the day when he could see his former companions again.

Then, remembering something, she turned to look at Yu Yanbin and asked, "Captain, are you leaving as soon as you've finished your business?"

Yu Yanbin nodded, "Yes, once the matter is settled, it's no longer safe to stay here."

Sun Cheng understood that if this matter were to be accomplished, it would mean going against the base, which was indeed dangerous.

Thinking of this, Sun Cheng lowered his head, knowing that this would make it difficult for him to see them.

Yu Yanbin and Shao Jie both understood why Sun Cheng was so frustrated at this moment, but there was nothing they could do; that was just how things were, and they couldn't change it.

Shao Jie wanted to say something more, but then stopped.

Yu Yanbin thought for a moment and then asked, "Do you want to leave here?"

Sun Cheng looked up at Yu Yanbin blankly, "Captain, leave? Leave where?"

Shao Jie understood what Yu Yanbin was trying to say, but he didn't interrupt and just watched quietly.

"Come leave with us," Yu Yanbin said with a smile.

Sun Cheng opened his eyes wide, looking at Yu Yanbin, then at Shao Jie. He was very happy, but after thinking for a moment, he said, "Never mind, Captain. I understand my situation. Someone like me shouldn't cause you any trouble. I'll stay here."

Yu Yanbin was surprised that Sun Cheng was so clear-headed; it was rare to see someone with such a clear head these days.

"How could it be a burden? You've done us a huge favor."

Sun Cheng shook his head, clearly aware of his own position and not becoming arrogant just because he had accomplished a little. Only by recognizing one's place can one go further.

"No, I'll stay here. Thank you, Captain. I can live a good life here, really."

Yu Yanbin didn't try to persuade him further. Everyone has their own way of living. Everyone has their own place in the world. No matter where you are, isn't it important to work hard? It really doesn't matter where you are.

That was the end of it. After chatting for a while, Sun Cheng left in the night and returned to the base.

"Captain, shall we go and inquire about it tomorrow?"

Yu Yanbin narrowed his eyes, his gaze turning gloomy.

"Well, I'll go back first. Are you coming with me or staying here?"

Shao Jie was a little confused. Didn't they just say they weren't going back today? Why are they back now?

Looking at Yu Yanbin with a question in his eyes, Yu Yanbin glanced at him and snorted.

"Can't I change my mind?"

"Oh, oh, okay. Okay, okay, hehe."

Seeing Shao Jie grinning foolishly, she didn't even want to talk to him.

"Just come earlier tomorrow."

"Mmm." Being able to go back is fine, even if I have to get up earlier in the morning. There's good food back home, but nothing here.

The two didn't waste any more time, found their car parked nearby, turned around, and drove back.

The road was pitch black, and their car was the only one still on the road.

Who would dare to wander around outside at 8 PM these days? It's not like they're looking for trouble. Only those who consider themselves highly capable would dare to roam around at this hour.

Not long after, I saw the road leading into the residential area. Turning in, I saw something blocking the way.

The sound of the car also alerted the people guarding the house. Xiao Peng didn't expect Yu Yanbin and Shao Jie to come back at night.

Just then, a car came rushing towards us, but we couldn't see who it was.

Xiao Peng stood up warily, preparing to stop the approaching car. At that moment, the car lights flashed several times.

Xiao Peng was taken aback, and just then, he heard a familiar voice.

Who's there?

Upon hearing this, Xiao Peng quickly walked out of the house and strode forward.

"Shao Jie?"

"Yes, it's me. Xiao Peng, put these away."

"Okay, wait." Xiao Peng removed the earthen wall blocking the road, allowing the car to pass.

The car stopped, and Xiao Peng got in. Then they drove together into the residential area.

"It's so late, I was still thinking you wouldn't come back."

"We originally planned not to come back, but the captain changed his mind later."

Within two minutes, the three of them were sitting inside. Everyone was still awake and happy to see the two return.

"Are you hungry? Eat something first."

As he spoke, he began taking things out.

Steamed buns, stir-fried vegetables, and soup.

Shao Jie rubbed his hands together, then sat down in the chair with a grin. "Sigh, I still miss this."

Everyone couldn't help but laugh.

"Have you guys eaten? Want to eat some together?" Shao Jie picked up his chopsticks, put a mouthful of food in his mouth, and tilted his head to look at the crowd gathered around him.

"Yeah, let's all eat something." Li Xiao had been delayed earlier and had lunch very late, so she wasn't hungry at dinner time and just ate something. She was probably hungry now.

Then they brought out more food, and everyone sat down to eat dinner together.
