Chapter 190 Hypocrisy

The man was surprised to encounter the same small group from before and wondered how they ended up there.

"Heh, I didn't expect you to be here too. Weren't you in that place?" The man seemed to have come to his senses and tried to ease his unease with words.

Why the unease and anxiety? The man felt a little flustered.

"Hmph, how did I end up here? Well, shouldn't I be thanking you all?" Yu Yanbin said, enunciating each word clearly. A chilling aura immediately filled the air.

The man froze, stunned. How could this be? How is this possible?

"You guys?" The man asked in disbelief.

Yu Yanbin twitched the corner of his mouth. "Didn't you already guess?"

Seeing the tall, upright man across from him blatantly utter such words, the man's eyes gradually widened until they were wide open.

Through his enlarged pupils, one could see a trace of panic, a trace of confusion, a trace of murderous intent, and a trace of retreat.

There were only 5 people opposite the man, while their side had 9. Their side had the numerical advantage.

At this moment, the man calmed down.

He chuckled twice, and when he looked up again, a cunning smile of certainty spread across his face.

Yu Yanbin and the others didn't care what this man was thinking at all; they looked at him like he was a clown.

Cheng Shaolin didn't even want to look at these people, his eyes lowered as he stared at the ground in front of him. "Let's finish this quickly."

He felt from beginning to end that these people were of low character, and that it was pointless to care about them now. He didn't care and didn't want to even glance at them.

“Well, there’s no need to waste time,” Yu Yanbin said to the people behind him without turning around, “Let’s finish this as soon as possible.”

"Um."

The three people behind him nodded in understanding.

As previously arranged, everyone remembered their mission and prepared for the upcoming battle.

"Let's get started."

The man then burst into laughter, and his team all looked at him, wondering what was wrong with their captain.

Yu Yanbin looked at him like he was an idiot, and couldn't help but think to himself that this man was really a bit abnormal.

"Haha, are you here for revenge?" The man thought he was strong enough. Where did these fools come from? Did they even think about revenge?

"Revenge? Don't you have a misunderstanding of the word 'revenge'? Do we need revenge between us?"

The man felt even more smug, thinking that the other party was afraid to confront him directly.

Now that the facade has been torn off, there is no need to continue pretending.

"Oh, so what are you doing here?"

Yu Yanbin ignored the man with a smug smile on his face and simply said, "What for? Of course, I'm here to kill you."

The cold, impersonal sentence left everyone on the other end stunned.

"How arrogant!" The man was angry, his dark face darkening even more.

His face was already dark enough; in fact, if it got any darker, you wouldn't be able to see anything. All you could see was that his face was as hard as a black wooden board, and the muscles in his face twitched from time to time.

"Whether you're arrogant or not, I don't know. I only know that you're really stupid."

"Hmph, I didn't expect you to be completely different now than before. What, you're not begging me anymore?"

Yu Yanbin looked up and stared at the person in front of him. "Beg? What do you have that's worth begging for? We have things you don't." As he said this, a sarcastic smile appeared on Yu Yanbin's lips. "You're really petty and have no sense of the spirit of a strong person at all."

As he spoke, he shook his raised right index finger in sync with his words.

The man was furious; he hated it most when people said he couldn't compare to the higher-ups in the base with superpowered abilities.

Why is he stronger than him? Why is he valued by the base? Hasn't he done less? No, he has done far more than those stronger individuals.

Why?

He believed he was no worse than anyone else, so why should he humble himself and be treated unfairly?

All the pent-up frustration in her heart was stirred up by Yu Yanbin's words. Her expression changed constantly, she was breathing heavily, and her chest heaved.

A muffled voice came from behind Yu Yanbin, "Is he...furious?"

Yu Yanbin chuckled, his shoulders trembling slightly. "I didn't expect him to be so easily provoked. Would you believe me if I said I didn't mean it?"

Cheng Shaolin glanced at him, then rolled his eyes.

This guy is never one to suffer a loss; he always seeks revenge.

The fact that I didn't hug him then wasn't because I didn't want to, but because I was waiting for an opportunity, and I knew I would get my revenge.

The three people behind immediately fell silent, quietly watching the person opposite them go crazy, eyes downcast.

"Hehe, why don't you believe me?" Yu Yanbin laughed even louder, but no one responded to him at this moment.

"Alright, enough chit-chat, let's get down to business." Yu Yanbin suppressed his smile and quickly regained his usual calm and refined demeanor.

All sounds abruptly ceased. The man was so enraged he was on the verge of madness; the muscles in his face twitched violently, revealing that he was suppressing his fury.

"Are you losing control? You can't even handle this much? That's all you've got." Yu Yanbin really knows how to put people down; he targets the most sensitive spots. And he does it with maximum force and the most sarcastic tone.

Indeed, one needs a certain level of composure to get through this hurdle.

Yu Yanbin was completely oblivious to the fact that he was driving the man crazy. He was still leisurely rubbing his wrist, looking at the man opposite him with a smile on his lips.

Anyone who didn't know better would think he was looking at a beautiful woman, but in reality, he was facing a dark-skinned, burly, and stupid guy.

As he finished speaking, the people around him and behind him raised their hands, ready to get down to business.

Seeing their posture, the people opposite them all tensed up and assumed a defensive stance, watching Yu Yanbin and his group warily.

Yu Yanbin and his companions were surrounded by supernatural abilities; golden swords, fireballs, earth spikes, and wooden sticks moved freely around their masters.

"Damn it, you idiot, looks like I'm going to go on a killing spree today." The man had completely exploded. He had thought of this weak and frail low-level survivor, but he never expected him to provoke him like this.

The man could no longer contain himself. He had been looked down upon at the base, and now he was being provoked by these unfamiliar outsiders. This was an insult to him, a severe insult.

Unaware of his own actions, he channeled all the grievances and resentment he felt towards higher-level ability users into a form of resentment, which he then transferred onto these individuals he perceived as lower-level ability users. He sought to compensate for his own shortcomings and demonstrate his superiority and power by targeting them.

To put it bluntly, he's a bully who preys on the weak and fears the strong.

In fact, he deliberately avoided this humiliating thought, using loud talking and rebuttals to cover up his truest dark side.

These are all easily defeated by intelligent people.

In the eyes of Yu Yanbin and his group, his fake masks were nothing more than clownish behavior.
