Chapter 328 Spider

The first spider was killed just like that, giving everyone a good start.

Cheng Shaolin and Yu Yanbin stood ready, looking at the residential building in front of them.

Both of them had their brows furrowed, not daring to relax for a moment.

Some of the other superhumans began to relax, perhaps thinking that the mutated spider was nothing special and not worth worrying about.

But their joy was short-lived, for they soon saw another spider crawl out of the hole from which the first spider had emerged.

This spider seems to be just a starting point.

The first one crawled out, and less than a minute later, another one appeared, then another, and another followed suit...

More and more spiders crawled out, one after another. They were all about the same size, some a little smaller and some a little larger, but the differences were not significant.

At first, everyone had a relaxed expression, but as more and more spiders crawled out of the nest, their expressions turned grim.

There are so many of them, it's terrifying to even look at.

In terms of numbers, people with superpowers are incomparable.

At this point, the superhuman was no longer nervous, but terrified.

Seeing that the situation was not good, Cheng Shaolin glanced back at Li Xiao.

Li Xiao nodded to him, and Cheng Shaolin then turned around.

However, his complexion was not good, and his brows were constantly furrowed.

"Shao Lin," Yu Yanbin called out softly to Cheng Shao Lin.

Cheng Shaolin tilted his head slightly in his direction to show that he was listening.

"Let's not rush forward, let's conserve our energy."

“Hmm.” Cheng Shaolin understood what Yu Yanbin meant.

Seeing that the other ability users around him were starting to panic and weren't very proactive, why should he take the lead?

Since we're not of one mind, there's no need to waste our energy.

The two reached a consensus and had no intention of showing off.

Caught between a group of panicked people, Cheng Shaolin and Yu Yanbin saw the spider approaching and threw a supernatural power at it.

They wanted to preserve their strength, but reality wouldn't allow it.

More and more people with superpowers retreated, disregarding their surroundings and only caring about their own lives.

Cheng Shaolin hadn't expected that these self-proclaimed superhumans would be so useless, panicking at the sight of a tiny spider.

The main character hasn't even appeared yet, and I'm already terrified. When they finally do appear, I'm sure I'll be scared to death!

Cheng Shaolin sighed inwardly, "Without unity, I don't know how to fight this battle."

With no other option, Cheng Shaolin threw fireballs at the spider, hoping to reduce its size even by a little.

Yu Yanbin did the same, unleashing a barrage of golden swords that shot rapidly into the spider's body.

The sharp, piercing cries were ear-piercing and very uncomfortable.

Seeing that Cheng Shaolin and Yu Yanbin were fighting with all their might, the somewhat tense and panicked superhumans seemed to calm down and joined in.

With many people, things moved quickly. The spider that crawled out was slowly eliminated, its basin-sized body scattered all over the ground.

But before they could catch their breath, spiders kept crawling out of the residential building and heading towards them.

At this point, the superhumans all assumed that this spider would be just as easy to kill as the previous ones.

But even if they're easy to kill, there's no way to stop them from being too numerous.

Spiders of various sizes crawled out continuously.

Gradually, the superhumans became numb. They were so easy to kill; having more of them wouldn't be a problem.

Half an hour later, the spider gradually grew larger.

Now it's not a spider the size of a basin anymore, it's a spider the size of a bathtub.

It's more than twice the size, making it look even more terrifying.

Li Xiao pulled Tian Tian and Zheng Yongnian closer to her.

Realizing something was amiss, Meng Yang and his group quietly moved next to Li Xiao and her group to prevent any potential danger.

The number of spiders is increasing, and as the situation worsens, chaos is spreading among the superhumans.

Half of the superhumans looked terrified and began to back away, trying to leave the area.

Among the other half of the superpowered individuals, some also began to have thoughts of retreating, with only the last quarter of the superpowered individuals still fighting to the death and refusing to back down.

These quarter of the superhumans were the team members brought by Xiang Yuping and Lu Mingzhou.

They were soldiers, unlike other superhumans.

However, there were still too few of these superhumans; they were simply not enough to contend with the swarm of spiders.

The Chaoyang Squad had pretty much figured out the situation, but they couldn't say anything. They weren't the leaders and didn't have the authority to manage the other ability users.

"Things are about to get chaotic, be careful," Meng Yang whispered, giving everyone a heads-up.

"Uh-huh."

Everyone is aware of the situation and will not take it lightly.

The task ahead can be left to Cheng Shaolin and Yu Yanbin, as they both have special abilities and are better suited to deal with the mutated spiders, while Meng Yang and his group are better at defense.

Li Xiao opened the map wide, and could clearly see the situation inside the spider nest.

In the innermost room, there was a huge spider lying there, making no sound.

This spider was the biggest, much larger than any of the mutated spiders, and it was half the size of the room.

Li Xiao was very startled, but not panicked.

She knew that panicking wouldn't help.

Only by thinking calmly can you go further.

The entire residential building had become a nest for mutated spiders, and there was nothing else inside but the mutated spiders.

The apartment building was covered in white cobwebs, which had frozen solid because the temperature had suddenly dropped and no fires had been lit to keep it warm.

The empty stairwell was filled with frozen spider silk, which slowed down the mutated spiders' movement.

The road was blocked, which is why the mutated spiders were crawling out one by one.

Li Xiao thought to herself that she really had to be grateful for the weather. If the temperature hadn't dropped so quickly, freezing everything, these mutated spiders would have swarmed out, and then it would have been much harder to deal with them.

The mutated spiders that have emerged so far are just the tip of the iceberg; many more mutated spiders have yet to appear.

Li Xiao remained calm. As long as the largest one didn't come out together, the ability users still had a chance.

The mutated spiders that are appearing now are getting bigger and bigger, with their size directly proportional to their strength.

The spiders that have emerged are now moving faster, and they've started spinning silk.

Many of the superhumans standing in front were caught off guard and became entangled in the silk spun by the spider.

Just as the spider silk was about to wrap around the person like a cocoon, several of the other ability users nearby screamed and ran away in terror. Only one ability user remained, throwing a spark that instantly burned through the connecting silk.

That's how they managed to save the superhuman.

After frantically tearing the spider silk off his body, the entangled superhuman was finally able to breathe normally.

Seeing this scene, everyone felt a chill.

If you accidentally get tangled in spider silk, it would be very dangerous.

Now, even more people with superpowers are starting to back down.
