Chapter 64 The Factory

This is a very ordinary little town next to the highway, nothing special.

Li Xiao ran in the direction she had come from, and after a distance, once she was sure she could no longer see that side, she took out an off-road vehicle from her spatial storage.

I'd collected quite a few cars before, and when I saw a decent one that was relatively clean and still had the keys, I'd stuff it into my storage space. Now it's finally coming in handy.

She drove along the highway for a while and then saw a fork in the road that led to the left.

This is what I saw when I passed by before; it's in the opposite direction from the town I visited earlier.

On the map, following this fork in the road is like the branching of tree branches. Every so often, a road will branch off. One road goes out to the left, and after a few kilometers, another road will branch off to the right.

This road is like the main trunk of a tree, with many smaller branches growing out from it.

As you drive along the road, the branches leading into the village are all ordinary little villages, but things change a little further in.

The map shows rows of square buildings, standing side by side, spaced several dozen meters apart, arranged neatly.

Li Xiao guessed that this place must be a factory, which was why she came up with the idea.

Thankfully the map has been upgraded; otherwise, it might not be visible from this far away.

She just didn't know which factory it was, but she had a feeling that she couldn't afford to miss it.

Li Xiao still believed in this sixth sense-like feeling she had.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to collect so many supplies in the first place. These supplies were a tremendous asset that enabled her to survive peacefully in the apocalypse.

Taking advantage of the argument with Zhou Lingyu, Li Xiao ran away.

She wasn't deliberately looking for trouble, but Zhou Lingyu was so helpful that she left without much effort.

I took out an ice cream from my spatial storage, vanilla flavor. Ah, so refreshing and cool, my heart is soaring! (^^)

Summer is all about ice cream; that's the right way to enjoy it.

I miss it so much!

Mmm, this feels so good!

Li Xiao sipped her ice cream and kept driving forward.

She was enjoying herself when, unbeknownst to her, a huge uproar broke out over there.

Yu Yanbin and his group drove back, and seeing such a conspicuous earthen building, how could they not know they had arrived at their destination?

Tian Tian, Sun Cheng, and Xiao Peng were sitting by the car; no one else was visible.

They all looked dejected and weren't very happy to see them return.

They were all puzzled and didn't know what had happened.

Qiu Fengyu wanted to wash her face, so she quickly got on the bus and went to her seat to get a towel. She saw that Zhou Lingyu and the others were sitting there quietly, looking very cautious.

She got out of the car, puzzled, and looked around for Tian Tian.

Tian Tian was heartbroken and didn't want to talk to anyone. After all this time, she was now about to be separated from Li Xiao, and it pained her deeply.

"Tian Tian, what's wrong? Did someone bully you?" Qiu Fengyu was usually aloof, and it was rare to see her care about anyone.

Tian Tian raised her head, shook her head, then nodded.

Everyone was puzzled by her expression; was it an affirmation or a denial?

Ignoring everyone else, Cheng Shaolin looked around for Li Xiao after returning home and not seeing her.

He wasn't there, so he got in the car to check, but they weren't there either.

Cheng Shaolin's expression was indescribably unpleasant. "Where's Xiaoxiao? I haven't seen her."

Only then did Qiu Fengyu realize that the strange thing she had just thought about was that someone was missing.

Looking around, she asked, "Isn't she here? Where's Xiaoxiao?"

Tian Tian burst into tears, "Xiaoxiao is gone, boohoo~ Xiaoxiao is gone."

Xiao Peng stood up and said apologetically to Cheng Shaolin, "Brother Cheng, I'm sorry. I promised to take care of Xiaoxiao, but I... I didn't keep my promise." He then lowered his head.

Everyone was stunned. "What? Xiaoxiao is gone?" Cheng Shaolin grabbed Xiao Peng's shirt and pulled him in front of him.

"Yeah, what happened to Xiaoxiao?" Shao Jie walked over and asked in surprise.

Xiao Peng wasn't really clear on what had happened. He opened his mouth but didn't know what to say, then turned back to look at Tian Tian.

Tian Tian sobbed as she recounted, "Zhou Lingyu and Xiaoxiao got into a fight. She...she hit Xiaoxiao's leg as soon as she got out of the car. I went to get some medicine, and they were bullying Xiaoxiao downstairs. When I came down, I saw them...beating Xiaoxiao, so I went to help. Later, then Xiao Peng came down, and they...Zhou Lingyu cursed at Xiaoxiao, calling her a 'harmful spirit,' and Xiaoxiao left. Waaaaah~"

At this moment, Cheng Shaolin's anger flared up. "Which way did Xiaoxiao go? How long has she been walking?"

Xiao Peng pointed in the direction they came from, "They went that way, it's been about an hour."

Cheng Shaolin released Xiao Peng's clothes and turned to leave.

Yu Yanbin pulled him back, intending to try and persuade him.

But Cheng Shaolin brushed away his outstretched hand, turned around and said fiercely to him, "This is all the trouble you caused. I will go with Xiaoxiao when I find her."

He finished speaking quickly and prepared to leave.

Yu Yanbin looked at him helplessly, "Are we really that untrustworthy to you?"

Cheng Shaolin looked at him seriously, "I don't know how long it will take to find her. Since we can't tolerate her, then we'll leave."

Hearing him say that, a hint of malice flashed in Yu Yanbin's eyes. It was all because of that idiot Zhou Lingyu.

"What are you talking about? What do you mean by 'tolerable'? If you hadn't gone to find Xiaoxiao in the first place, we might not even have met again." Then she patted his shoulder. "Go on, things might get complicated if you linger. We'll wait for you up ahead."

Looking at Yu Yanbin's sincere face, Cheng Shaolin nodded in agreement after a few seconds of silence.

After saying that, he was about to leave when Yu Yanbin stopped him, "Hey, drive the car there, hurry up."
