As Li Xiao lay in bed, she quietly thought about how wonderful it felt to have someone treat you well.
“You’ve been away for so long, your uncles and aunts must be worried about you. Aren’t you worried about them?” Li Xiao thought of Uncle Cheng and his family in Beijing.
"We agreed before we left that no matter what, we would find you."
Li Xiao asked curiously, "It's normal that we can't contact them now, but what if we can't find them?"
Cheng Shaolin smiled, "I believed we would find it, but I didn't expect to find it before even reaching Mingcheng." Suddenly remembering something, he smiled again.
"At first I didn't recognize him. Shao Jie even helped me find out what happened. Thinking back to that time, it's kind of funny."
Thinking back to what happened back then, Li Xiao couldn't help but laugh. "Couldn't you have just asked directly? Why did you have to go through all this trouble? It's really hilarious."
Cheng Shaolin also felt a little embarrassed, "I thought too much at the time, afraid of making a mistake, and afraid that you wouldn't accept it, so, that's how it was."
Li Xiao thought about it for a moment and understood.
If it were her, she wouldn't dare to rashly claim to know someone she doesn't. She might just get a dirty look from them.
She smiled and said, "You came very quickly from that road."
"Yeah, I didn't rest much on the way."
Li Xiao asked curiously, "They didn't complain?"
Cheng Shaolin said slowly, "No, at least I haven't heard anything about it on the surface. Because when I first met them, I told them that I was going to Mingcheng to find someone and that I was in a hurry. They all knew that."
Li Xiao nodded, understanding. Having spent so much time together, it would be a shame to give up on this team.
"Originally, the team consisted of only me and Yu Yanbin. I was the first to meet him, and then I met the others."
Li Xiao was taken aback. "Didn't you come from Beijing together?"
Cheng Shaolin paused and laughed, "Who told you I came from Beijing? I came out on June 3rd. Mom told me you were on the 3rd, but with the apocalypse, planes couldn't fly anymore, so I quickly took a car out."
Li Xiao suddenly realized.
"When I arrived in W City, I ran into Yu Yanbin. He was on his way there on business, but he couldn't get back in time because of the apocalypse. We bumped into each other and went home together."
"Then I met Zhou Lingyu and the other two. They said they were on vacation. But who didn't know they were chasing after Yu Yanbin? They got themselves into trouble and now they can't go back to Beijing."
"Yu Yanbin will take care of their affairs. That was agreed upon from the beginning. I will not be responsible."
Li Xiao nodded.
"And then what happened? Did you meet Shao Jie, Xiao Peng, and Qiu Fengyu?"
Seeing that Li Xiao enjoyed listening to this, Cheng Shaolin continued enthusiastically, "Well, the first of the three of them encountered was Shao Jie. He was alone, and I helped him out of the way, so he's been following us ever since. Then there was Xiao Peng. When I saw him, he was in a very dangerous situation, so I went and rescued him. He's been following us ever since, working hard without complaint, and he's a very honest and kind person."
"Did you finally meet Qiu Fengyu?" Li Xiao pressed.
“Yes, when I met her, she was being bullied by a group of people. She fought back fiercely. At that time,” Cheng Shaolin recalled the scene and said slowly, “I saw anger, persistence, and resistance in her eyes, but she did not give in.”
Li Xiao opened her big eyes, which sparkled brightly.
"Then, you saved her."
"Yes, seeing her like that, even when she was being bullied by a group of people, she didn't choose to give in. That stubbornness made me want to lend a helping hand."
The facts are not as he described.
Seeing Qiu Fengyu being bullied, I couldn't help but think of Li Xiao, who was still in Mingcheng. I wondered if anyone would help Li Xiao if she encountered something like this.
And so, by some strange twist of fate, he saved Qiu Fengyu. Qiu Fengyu continued to believe that he had feelings for her.
After all, Qiu Fengyu is very beautiful, a rare beauty who is captivating.
It caused Cheng Shaolin a lot of laughs, and he only understood after she explained it to him.
He wouldn't tell Li Xiao any of this.
"You didn't expect the people you rescued to be so decent, did you?" Li Xiao said with a smile.
Cheng Shaolin smiled and said, "Yes, I didn't think about what I was saving them for at first. I just did it on a whim. I never expected that they would all develop superpowers later on."
"Forming a team was Shao Jie's suggestion, and after some discussion, everyone agreed. Unexpectedly, everyone got along very well."
Li Xiao lay on the bed, listening to Cheng Shaolin talk, her face full of excitement.
Seeing that Li Xiao was very interested, Cheng Shaolin told her about some of the things that had happened before.
“I’ve always told them that I would go to Mingcheng to find someone, and those who don’t want to leave can leave. I won’t force them. They all understand. There’s no need to say anything about what happened because of you; that’s all nonsense.”
Cheng Shaolin reiterated this point.
Li Xiao responded with a soft "Mmm".
They talked like this for about an hour, until they mentioned that Li Xiao had arrived.
Actually, there's nothing I can't say now, Li Xiao thought. "I just saw on the map that there was a road here, but it was a bit far and I couldn't see it clearly, so I wanted to come and take a look. Who knew that Zhou Lingyu, that lunatic, would argue with me and pick fights for no reason."
Cheng Shaolin understood that Xiaoxiao disliked Zhou Lingyu, and neither did anyone else. She was unwilling to do anything, always causing trouble, and liked to nitpick.
This wasn't something Yu Yanbin agreed to at the time; he even wanted to throw her away. But later, she persisted in wanting to throw her away, and he couldn't very well argue with her.
