Chapter 94 Feelings

"Xiaoxiao, after that, did you feel any changes in yourself, or any differences?" Cheng Shaolin had forgotten what Xiaoxiao had told him before, and had even forgotten that she had superpowers.

She's a superhuman now, I wonder if anything's different about her.

Li Xiao didn't know if there was anything different about herself, and hadn't noticed anything unusual.

She shook her head. "I don't know either."

Cheng Shaolin nodded, "We'll see what happens later. Right now it's a complete mess, and we don't know exactly what's going on."

Yu Yanbin couldn't figure it out for the time being, so he didn't say much, patted Cheng Shaolin on the shoulder, and went to sleep. It was getting late, and he was still injured, so he needed to rest.

As Yu Yanbin slowly walked into the dark corner, and with the sound of him lying down, the scene fell silent once again.

"It's getting late, you should go to sleep too. I'll take care of things from now on," Cheng Shaolin urged Li Xiao to rest.

Li Xiao then realized that it was almost 1 a.m. Before she knew it, it was already midnight.

She said she would keep watch herself, but in the end, Cheng Shaolin ended up accompanying her. It's funny to think about it now.

She smiled at Cheng Shaolin, said nothing, walked to the seat reserved for her, lay down, and closed her eyes.

Seeing that Li Xiao was already asleep, Cheng Shaolin walked to the chair and sat down, looking out the window.

It was pitch black all around, without a single ray of light.

Cheng Shaolin was still pondering what Li Xiao had said. Could it be related to her special ability? Or something else?

In uncertain circumstances, anything is possible.

He sat in the darkness, silently making plans, and time slowly passed by.

Time passed peacefully, and the night went by.

Before dawn, people woke up one by one.

I slept soundly through the night and feel much better.

Xiao Peng is recovering well; perhaps it's because he has superpowers, but his condition has improved considerably. Feeling quite energetic, he decided to cook something delicious today.

I quickly cooked some porridge this morning and made a lot of pancakes with flour. Steamed buns took longer to make, as they needed to ferment, and although I had yeast, I'll make those next time when I have more time.

The pancakes were fried until fragrant and crispy, with a delicious and refreshing taste. Drinking a bowl of rice porridge with them made me feel so comfortable.

"It's just missing a few scallions," Xiao Peng said with a slightly embarrassed smile, scratching his head.

Seeing everyone enjoying their meal made him happy too. No one can resist compliments on their cooking, and Xiao Peng was no exception.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast while chatting and laughing, Yu Yanbin began to plan for the day.

"Almost everyone has injuries, so we're not going out to collect supplies today. Let's just rest in this supermarket and recover. We can talk about it tomorrow."

Everyone agreed with Yu Yanbin's arrangements for today, and after eating comfortably, they lay down to rest.

Shao Jie sat down by the window with the gun in his hand, ready to continue the work Cheng Shaolin had been doing.

From last night until now, except for when I put it down to eat, I haven't put it down at all. I even sleep with it in my arms. It's unbelievable! ( ̄ω ̄;)

Seeing him still touching the gun so affectionately, as if it were his girlfriend, with a look of deep love on his face, Li Xiao wanted to spit on him.

Shao Jie grinned from ear to ear, "It's so beautiful! Where did you get it? It's amazing!"

Li Xiao glanced at Cheng Shaolin, who smiled knowingly. "I stumbled upon it by chance, so I brought it back."

Shao Jie wasn't really trying to find out; it was just a casual question. Where it came from wasn't important; what mattered was having it in his hands.

Unlike him, Zheng Yongnian didn't hold on tightly. He gave it to Yu Yanbin after using it last night and went to rest. Perhaps he was also tired, because he went to lie down again after breakfast.

It seems that not everyone likes these things the same way; it really depends on the person.

Li Xiao and Cheng Shaolin couldn't stay still; they couldn't just lie around doing nothing. In the end, the two decided to go for a walk outside.

Li Xiao felt it would be a waste not to go out and take a look at such a big place.

She's used to looting wherever she goes; not going into a village doesn't seem like her style. Let's go check it out.

Cheng Shaolin couldn't stay still either, and the two hit it off immediately and set off together.

The area around them had already been searched by Yu Yanbin and his men, so they continued forward.

"Let me check first, see if there's a supermarket up ahead. A supermarket would be the most suitable," Li Xiao said to Cheng Shaolin, while looking at the map to see which place was suitable.

A moment later, Li Xiao turned to Cheng Shaolin and said, "Go ahead, there's a residential area on the left, along with some goods and a small supermarket. Do you want to go take a look?"

Cheng Shaolin nodded, "Wherever Li Xiao says, that's fine."

The two went to the left, and the surrounding area consisted of residential areas. There were broken glass and some unrecognizable objects on the ground.

It looked like a zombie's limb or something, dried out by the sun. When you stepped on it, it was crushed to pieces with a crack.

"Even the zombies have been dried out by the sun. Are there fewer zombies now?" Li Xiao turned to ask Cheng Shaolin.

"Maybe, but there are definitely fewer zombies than before. Whether it's because of the weather or not, we'll have to wait and see," Cheng Shaolin replied.

"Sigh, when will this weather get better?" Li Xiao sighed, wondering when this heatwave would end.

"Silly girl, why think so much? Things will get better." Cheng Shaolin patted her head. "There's always a way out for everyone."

Li Xiao bit her lip. "I hope so, but I don't know when."

Cheng Shaolin remained silent.

The two walked silently for two blocks, and ahead was the small supermarket—IKEA.

There were still some zombies around. Cheng Shaolin told Li Xiao to go first, and he would come back after he cleared the area.

Li Xiao responded and walked towards the supermarket, where she could still see some trash at the entrance.

Torn packaging bags, tattered flyers, dried bloodstains, and other stains stretched all the way into the supermarket.

The supermarket looked like it had been robbed, and it really had.

The shelves were practically empty; from the moment you entered, they were completely bare. Only a few shelves still had items, which were scattered haphazardly and in a mess.

Li Xiao stepped over various packaging bags and arrived at the shelves where items were still displayed. They turned out to be everyday necessities: brushes, steel wool, slippers…

No wonder they've survived this long; they're all unwanted, so there's no point in carrying them around—they can't fill our stomachs. There are also some seasonings, but with the water and electricity cut off, we can't cook, so they're useless now.

But Li Xiao could use the seasonings, so she didn't mind and decided to take them all.
