Chapter 30 Alien

Chapter 30 Alien

The next morning, there was heavy fog outside and visibility was less than five meters. I couldn't see what was happening around me at all.

Cheng Sinian had originally planned to wait for the fog to clear before going out, as it was too dangerous. However, Qiao Yu said that such foggy days would become common, and they needed to adapt as soon as possible. Furthermore, their abilities had just awakened, so they needed to practice quickly, otherwise their situation would become increasingly dangerous. So, after breakfast, the three of them headed out.

I don’t know if it’s because the smell of blood at the foot of the mountain attracted all the alien species, but the few alien species that Jiang Zhan sensed yesterday are no longer at the door of Jiang’s house.

There is only one house, Jiang's, on the top of Yunming Mountain, and four households on the mountainside, but further down, there is a relatively dense group of villas.

Before the apocalypse, only two of the four houses on the mountainside were occupied. It's unclear whether the owners weren't home when the apocalypse arrived, or if everyone here had been infected and fled.

In short, they circled around the mountainside for a long time, but Jiang Zhan didn't detect any breath.

The three of them had no choice but to drive down the mountain.

When the car was still some distance away from the villa complex at the foot of the mountain, Jiang Zhan suddenly said, "There are four alien species about sixty meters ahead."

Qiao Yu grabbed the car door handle and was about to open it when Jiang Zhan stopped her.

Qiao Yu turned around and saw Jiang Zhan looking at her with a worried look on his face. She smiled, patted his hand soothingly, then resolutely opened the car door, got out first, and walked forward tentatively.

Although Jiang Zhan was worried, he also understood that in the end times, the stronger her abilities were, the safer she would be.

So he didn't stop her, but just followed her silently, just in case.

"The back of the head is a critical point for aliens, but the skull is very hard. If you can't break it, don't force it. Cutting the neck will also work." Qiao Yu gently told them how to deal with the aliens. "Level 1 aliens have no intelligence and only know how to brute force. They are only slightly faster than a normal person running, but they are very strong. So try not to let them get close to you, otherwise you will waste a lot of energy."

Qiao Yu has been in the apocalypse for four years. Her understanding of alien species, as well as her sharpness and vigilance in combat, are all quite high, which is her absolute advantage.

After instructing the two, Qiao Yu tiptoed and headed towards the direction the alien was coming from. Her ability had just awakened, and her attack range was not wide enough, so she had to get closer.

When the two alien species stepped into her attack range, Qiao Yu almost instantly formed ice flowers under the alien species' feet, restraining their steps. Then she condensed ice blades in her palms, waved her hands, and shot straight at them.

The two ice blades hit the target and penetrated into the skulls of the aliens. The frost quickly spread along the places where the ice blades penetrated until the entire skulls of the two aliens were frozen into ice cubes. Qiao Yu clenched his palms, and the hard skulls shattered like ice surface that was hit hard.

In just a few seconds, the two bodies fell to the ground limply as if their bones had been pulled out.

Qiao Yu glanced down. Both creatures were wearing security uniforms. Their skin was pale and shrunken, their eye sockets were red, their eyeballs were gray, and the backs of their heads were bulging. Their chests were stained with blood, and one of them had a piece of bloody raw meat hanging from its long, sharp fangs.

There was no blood on the ground, only a shattered skull mixed with splattered brain matter, emitting a strong stench of decay. Qiao Yu's face was normal. After surviving in the apocalypse for four years, she was no longer surprised by anything.

After Qiao Yu dealt with two alien species, he stopped attacking and quickly retreated, wanting to leave the remaining two to Jiang Zhan and Cheng Sinian.

Jiang Zhan understood her intention, focused his attention slightly, and stared at an alien species running towards him.

Suddenly, the wind blew around. If you look closely, you can see that the air in front of Jiang Zhan is slightly distorted, silently condensing into a wind cone that is imperceptible to the naked eye.

Jiang Zhan waited for the alien to approach. With a slight movement of his fingertips, the alien's skull seemed to be pierced by a sharp weapon in an instant, and its brain burst and spurted out.

It might be because it was his first time, Jiang Zhan lacked experience and used too much force, causing the surrounding vegetation to be affected to varying degrees.

On the other side, Cheng Sinian was also fighting with an alien species.

Like Jiang Zhan, Cheng Sinian was inexperienced and only knew how to set fires. However, the alien had no sense of pain and would attack even if burned. Cheng Sinian dodged the alien's swinging arm and finally formed a fireball in his palm, burning the alien's neck and ending the battle.

Qiao Yu took out a Tang sword from the space, inserted it into the back of the head of one of the alien species and stirred it. He felt something hard and was delighted. He used the knife to dig it out.

"What is this?" Cheng Sinian asked curiously when he saw her digging out a milky white crystal the size of a fingernail from the back of the alien's head.

"Good stuff." Qiao Yu said playfully.

Cheng Sinian rolled his eyes and asked, "What's the use?"

Qiao Yu didn't keep the secret any longer and said seriously, "This is called a crystal core. It can replenish the energy and physical strength consumed by the alien, and it can also help the alien quickly improve its energy level. The higher the level of the alien, the larger the crystal core in the skull will be, and the more energy it will contain."

That's really good stuff. Cheng Sinian stretched out his hand and said, "Give me a knife, I'll go dig it too."

After digging out the crystal core, the three continued walking down the mountain.

Before the apocalypse, the residents of the Yunmingshan Villa District were all either wealthy or noble, so the security and defense measures here were very good. So now, even if there were any aliens trying to come here, they would be blocked by the guardrails at the entrance.

However, they could stop them temporarily, but not forever. The number of alien species would continue to grow, and the guardrails would eventually become overwhelmed. This was why Qiao Yu wanted to reinforce the outer walls of the Jiang family's main house. However, for now, the villa area was still relatively safe. At least Jiang Zhan had sensed signs of life after arriving at the foot of the mountain.

The three of them circled around and parked the car a little higher up the hillside villa complex. They got out and walked forward cautiously.

"There are more than twenty of them ahead." Jiang Zhan reminded.

"Don't go any further. Just wait here." Qiao Yu held back Cheng Sinian, who wanted to continue forward. "The aliens are very sensitive to the sounds and breath of living people. Even if we don't go over, they will come over sooner or later."

Sure enough, as soon as Qiao Yu finished speaking, the three of them heard the roar and footsteps of the alien species.

Qiao Yu keenly sensed something unusual on the right and was startled. With a "bang", two alien species crashed head-on into an ice wall.

Qiao Yu took two steps back, and the ice blade in his palm seemed to bypass the ice wall consciously, instantly cutting off the heads of the two alien species.

Jiang Zhan always stood within ten meters of her, protecting her with his mental power while manipulating the wind blade to kill the aliens running towards him.

Perhaps because Jiang Zhan and Qiao Yu had a stronger aura of life, Cheng Sinian felt less pressure. After using his fire blade to kill five or six alien species, he began to dig for crystal cores.

Just after dealing with the few in front of me, another alien species came running over following the scent.

Since they had the crystal cores they had just collected, the three of them absorbed the crystal cores to replenish their superpowers while killing as many alien species as possible.

But they had just awakened after all, their abilities were limited, and the energy in the first-level alien crystal core was not much. Therefore, after they dealt with fifty or sixty alien species, they obviously felt their bodies were a little soft, and their brains felt like they were being hit hard with a blunt object, and they were twitching in pain.

So Jiang Zhan used his mental power to temporarily block the alien's perception of them. The three of them quickly dug out the crystal core and drove back home.
