Ling Ju glanced at Sun Yun's puzzled look sitting on the side, and decided not to say anything for now. She would discuss it after she was sure that they were a good match. She was really not good at matchmaking, and she hadn't even figured out how to match Zhen Zhen and Chen Yun.
The day after Song Qi returned to the team, Song Xin's enlistment notice came through.
The family had already prepared for this and did not bring anything for Song Xin. After all, they would be given things when they arrived at the army. Chen Chun just cooked a meal for Song Xin that was her favorite.
Ling Ju put two sugar jars close to Song Xin's body. She didn't know whether they would be confiscated, but it was better to have them than not.
When Song Xin left, she didn't even dare to look back, for fear that she would burst into tears when she saw her grandmother, mother, second sister-in-law, and her little nephew who was just over a month old. But the tears started flowing before she even got on the car.
She didn't look back, and Chen Chun felt uncomfortable. After returning home, he went back to his bedroom without saying a word.
Ling Ju knew that Chen Chun missed Song Xin and was worried about Song Xin, and needed to vent his emotions.
The old man was quite happy, "My granddaughter has grown up! She will be a soldier who contributes to the country and society in the future! We should be happy for her!"
Ling Ju nodded, "Song Xin went to fulfill his dream."
On the other side, Song Xin got on the army vehicle and drove for more than three hours directly into the northern mountainous area. When the sentry post of the reconnaissance brigade appeared in front of her, she knew that the day had finally come.
The familiar sentry post and compound, the reconnaissance team! She's really here!
A beating heart, trembling hands.
When hopes come true, it is a sense of practical realization!
Including her, there were only 25 female recruits in this wave of new soldiers. There were more male soldiers, more than 100. Most of them were like her, talented university graduates who enlisted in the army.
Naturally, their treatment is different from that of conscripts. They are all key training targets.
As the car entered the courtyard, she saw several people approaching. They were probably the instructors. They were shouting and blowing whistles, demanding that everyone line up and gather according to the requirements, and then be searched and handed over their belongings.
Song Xin immediately stood in the designated position and placed her bag at her feet. She felt a gaze fixed on her from a tower about 70 meters ahead. She looked in that direction and saw two people standing on the tower holding binoculars. However, the distance and the glare from the sun made it difficult to make out their faces or figures.
She looked away and waited for the instructor to search her.
The two men on the tower looked in her direction, and one of them grinned, "Song Qi, I will not show mercy."
Song Qi glanced at him and said, "Don't go too far. Okay, I have to go now. I have things to do in the team."
Ling Yong patted his shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Song Xin is in my care."
Song Qi didn't say anything. Was he worried about Ling Yong? He was worried about his sister. What was that girl thinking?
These two people stay together every day, who knows what will happen?
Song Qi got off the tower and looked in Song Xin's direction again. After looking for more than ten seconds, he turned and left.
Ling Ju looked at Chen Chun with red eyes and had no choice but to pass the child in her hand to him.
There was no other way but to divert her attention.
As soon as the chubby and soft little body was in Chen Chun's arms, it started giggling. Chen Chun smiled instantly and held the child to tease him.
Ling Ju heaved a sigh of relief when she saw her goal had been achieved. She turned around and whispered to Tian Mei, "Mom, it's okay. Just chat with my mother-in-law. She probably hasn't been eating or sleeping well these past few days. Song Xin hasn't left home much in all these years. She's probably not used to it."
Tian Mei nodded, "Don't worry, Mom has been through this before, she understands everything."
As soon as Song Xin left and Song Zhiguo went on a business trip, the small courtyard and the Song family suddenly became quiet. If it weren't for Zhen Zhen's constant chatter in her ear, she would have been a little uncomfortable.
There was some good news recently, though. Monkey and Dashan in Jiangsu Province had already learned a lot from selling lunch boxes, including that Hu Jun and Wu Jian were still alive inside the factory. It was just that they couldn't contact her for the time being.
What's more, Monkey was puzzled. It seemed like Hu Jun and Wu Jian were being monitored. There was always someone following them. Logically speaking, who would monitor two people from other provinces who came to work in an unfamiliar place for no reason? This was obviously not right.
This means that either someone knows that they were sent by Ling Ju, or someone suspects what they have done, or they have revealed something.
But Monkey observed for several days and didn't find out what the people who were monitoring Hu Jun and Wu Jian were doing. They just followed them. It was so strange.
Moreover, Hu Jun and Wu Jian only go between the dormitory and the workshop every day, and have no extra activities at all.
Could it be that they surrendered?
When Monkey called Zhen Zhen, he expressed everything he might be thinking.
Zhen Zhen conveyed this to Ling Ju without missing a single word.
Ling Ju completely believed in Zhen Zhen's memory. This girl had an excellent memory.
This matter seems to have reached a dead end and there is no progress.
We can’t let Monkey and Dashan keep selling boxed lunches in Jiangsu Province.
After all, they are both from Yan Jintang, so isn't this a big favor they owe each other?
"Tell Monkey and Dashan to stay put and continue observing. At least now that Hu Jun and Wu Jian are okay, that's progress."
Zhen Zhen said, "Okay, I'll call them later."
Ling Ju looked at Zhen Zhen for a while and always felt that there was something wrong with this girl. Why was her face so red?
"Zhen Zhen, are you sick? Your face is so red? Hey, what's wrong with your neck? Why is it purple?"
Zhen Zhen cried out, and hurried to look in the mirror, only to discover a bruise below her collarbone. Her face suddenly turned even redder, and she stammered, "Ah, it's okay, it's okay, it's just a mosquito bite."
