Chapter 50 Difficult Birth

It was already past nine in the morning when Ling Ju woke up. She looked to her side and saw that Song Qi was no longer there. The curtains were drawn and she was the only one there. However, there was still some warmth on the side where he was lying, which seemed to indicate that he had just left.

The sounds of talking coming from the living room proved that they should all be in the living room.

I got up and put on my clothes. My stomach rumbled and I stretched, preparing to go out and find something to eat.

Wearing a grey sports suit and a cotton coat, he opened the door and saw several people warming themselves by the stove in the living room. There was a small pot on the stove, steaming. He sniffed it and it smelled like milk.

The energy of several people was white, green and gold, and they were all very healthy.

The moment she left the house, Song Qi came over. He and Ling Yong had both changed out of their military uniforms and were wearing casual clothes. These clothes were bought when they went to the city last time. She had never seen Song Qi wear them before, and she didn't expect him to bring them here.

Song Qi took her hand and led her to sit on the small stool beside the stove. "Are you awake?"

Ling Ju nodded, "Have you all had breakfast? I'm hungry."

Ling Yong pointed to the milk on the stove and said, "Drink this. Dad asked for it at Uncle Wang's house this morning. There are also scrambled eggs and noodles."

As he spoke, Song Qi brought over the eggs and noodles. Ling Ju was indeed hungry, and without caring that she had not brushed her teeth or washed her face yet, she washed her hands and started eating.

Ling Ju sat opposite Ling Yong and looked carefully at the aura on Ling Yong. He found the same green aura as Song Qi's, so he quickly looked away. Ling Yong also drank a lot of Ling Dawei's tonic wine, and last night Ling Yong drank half a pot of chrysanthemum tea himself.

She wasn't sure if men of this era were capable of DIY, so it seemed like a good idea to go up the mountain and burn off some energy.

Ling Ju finished her noodles quickly. After the milk was cooked, Song Qi cooled it for her by pouring it back and forth between two teacups to cool it down quickly.

It took about a few minutes to put it in her mouth. Just as she was about to drink it, Song Qi scooped another spoonful of sugar into the milk. It was Ling Ju's own habit. She liked to add sugar to her milk.

"Song Xin, this is too much for me to finish. You should drink some too." Ling Ju gave half of the milk to Song Xin. Song Xin took it and drank it in two sips. There was milk foam on the edge of his mouth after he finished drinking. He looked as cute as a little kid.

"Sister-in-law, I found that I slept very well in your house. I almost fell asleep as soon as I lay down, and slept until dawn. Moreover, the countryside is really quiet, much quieter than my eldest brother's place, and the air is better too." The most important thing is that she has a fulfilled feeling in Ling Yong's room.

Ling Ju nodded. "As long as you sleep well, that's fine. I was worried that you wouldn't be familiar with the new environment. I'm a bit attached to my bed, and I can't sleep well every time I change places."

Ling Ju realized his parents were not there, so she asked Ling Yong, "Where are Mom and Dad?"

Ling Yong added two pieces of wood to the stove. "A cow at Uncle Wang's house gave birth, and they went to see it."

A cow giving birth to a calf?

"I've never seen a cow give birth. Let's go and see while I wash my face."

Song Xin thought it was good. She had never seen it before. "Second sister-in-law, I think it's okay. It's a good opportunity for you to imagine what it would be like to give birth to a baby."

Several people: "........"

Finally, Ling Ju finished eating and drinking and washed up. The four of them went next door to see Uncle Wang's cow give birth.

As soon as I entered the Wang family yard, I saw a lot of people gathered in the cowshed. When I got closer, I heard Aunt Wang crying. The old lady in her fifties, half of her hair was white, was supported by Tian Mei, and she kept crying.

Ling Ju hurried forward, "Mom, Aunt Wang, what's wrong?"

Tian Mei frowned. "The cow had a difficult birth. Your uncle Wang went out to get the doctor and he hasn't come back yet, over an hour ago."

Several people frowned. Ling Ju thought about his abilities and wondered if he could help the cow. However, with so many people here, it would be better for him to disperse first.

Ling Ju held Aunt Wang's arm and asked, "Aunt Wang, how did Uncle Wang go?"

Wang Zhi raised his eyes and said, "I rode my bike to the next village. I should be back by now. I don't know why I'm so slow."

Ling Ju looked at Ling Yong and said, "Brother, why don't you drive over to pick her up and see if anything happens on the way?"

Ling Yong agreed immediately, as he had thought the same thing. "Okay, I'll go right away."

Ling Ju squeezed towards the cowshed. She could see the cow's gas, gray-black gas in its lower abdomen. She remembered watching a video online of a veterinarian delivering a cow. She thought that she couldn't just wait for the veterinarian.

Walking up to Tian Mei, he said, "Mom, please ask the villagers to disperse first. I may have a solution."

Wang Zhi and Tian Mei thought she was joking, but Ling Ju became more serious. "This cow can't give birth. I think the fetus is in an abnormal position. If it's delayed any further, the cow's life will be in danger, and the calf will suffocate due to lack of oxygen."

Wang Zhi shed a few more tears, "Yes, but what should I do?"

Ling Ju saw that words alone were no longer enough, so she asked Song Qi to help her and went into the cowshed. The cow was half-kneeling, breathing weakly. "Song Qi, do you believe me?"

Although Song Qi didn't know how she knew that the cow had a difficult birth, she had indeed given him many surprises, so it didn't seem unbelievable when she said she could deliver a cow.

Song Qi nodded.

Ling Ju stopped talking, gently stroked the jade pendant, issued an instruction in his mind, and then gently stroked the cow's belly.

The cow may have been in so much pain that she didn't care about the stranger approaching, or she may have had no strength left.

Ling Ju's hands channeled energy into the cow, his eyes fixed on the qi in her abdomen, which slowly turned from grayish-black to gray. He then felt the calf's position, guessing it was a malposition. He then looked down the birth canal, and sure enough, it was.

"Song Qi, Song Xin, come here too. I need you to help me turn the cow over so I can reach into her birth canal."
