Chapter 65 New Year's Eve 1

When Ling Ju heard the noise in her sleep, she looked at the time on her pocket watch. It was just past six in the morning and it was still dark.

She could feel the deliberately quiet sound of someone coming up the stairs, the vibration of military boots and the stairs. She guessed that it must be Song Zhiguo coming back, but this could not escape her sensitive ears.

Ling Ju suddenly felt a little nervous. Although she had met Song Zhiguo before, his military rank was too high. Her parents were also soldiers, so it didn't feel like meeting in-laws, but more like meeting a commander.

Song Zhiguo is two years older than Ling Dawei. Having held a high position for many years, he has a sharp aura that cannot be ignored.

I tossed and turned, and since I couldn't fall asleep, I might as well get up. Just as I was about to turn over to look at Song Qi, I found that he was already awake, with a hazy smile in his eyes and a burning gaze.

"Hey, it looks like your dad is back."

She poked Song Qi's chest. Song Qi sat up from the bed and kissed her forehead. "Yes, I heard it."

What? Song Qi heard it too.

But she knew that soldiers were used to light sleep.

It was already seven o'clock when I washed up and went downstairs, and everyone in the family had already gotten up.

Ling Ju specially wore the red sweater that Song Qi bought for her yesterday, white woolen wide-leg pants, and her hair was divided into two big braids. She looked in particularly good spirits.

Haha, luckily I didn’t stay in bed.

A loud male voice came from upstairs. It was indeed Song Zhiguo coming down.

He was not wearing a military uniform, but a more formal casual outfit of a shirt and black pants. He saw Ling Ju walking towards him quickly.

Ling Ju greeted him obediently, "Dad."

Song Zhiguo laughed heartily, and Ling Dawei and his wife also stood up and exchanged greetings for a long time. Ling Dawei and his wife, Ling Yong, and even saluted Song Zhiguo, and Song Zhiguo returned the salute.

"Hello, Chief!"

Song Zhiguo looked at Ling Dawei, "Haha, my dear relatives, we finally meet! Don't be shy, there are no leaders at home today! Welcome to Kyoto!"

Chen Chun came out and greeted, "Everyone, stop standing and talking, and get ready for breakfast!"

A group of people sat down around the dining table, and Ling Ju discovered that Song Wei was not there.

Vegetarian buns, millet porridge, and tofu pudding are all Ling Ju's favorites.

Song Zhiguo was shocked when he saw Ling Ju adding vinegar to the tofu pudding. "Ju Ju, don't you think it's too sour when you put so much vinegar in it?"

Ling Ju grinned, "I prefer sour and spicy food now. I start drooling when I see sour things."

After pouring the vinegar, add a little chili oil.

Ling Ju watched Song Zhiguo staring at her bowl of tofu pudding, perhaps trying to guess whether the baby in her belly was a boy or a girl.

But in fact, she also liked spicy and sour food before, but she just likes it more now.

Chen Chun teased, "I think there must be a son in Orange's belly, since he likes sour food so much."

Tian Mei added, "But she also likes spicy food."

Song Xin looked at the two mothers and said slowly, "Maybe my second sister-in-law is pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl?"

When Ling Ju heard this, the pressure doubled.

Everyone started to discuss the baby's gender in a whisper, and they were roughly divided into several factions. Ling Ju couldn't get a word in.

She will educate the child well regardless of whether it is a boy or a girl, but she secretly hopes it is a daughter. She likes daughters. She does not require her daughter to be considerate and gentle. She hopes that her daughter will have the courage to pursue her dreams and become an outstanding and independent woman.

She and Song Qi will be her strongest support.

Ling Ju hadn't participated in the discussion, silently eating her tofu pudding and buns. Finally, it was Grandma Song who spoke up, "Both boys and girls are children of the Song family. They must be raised well. Don't put too much pressure on your granddaughter-in-law."

Grandpa Song also agreed, "There is no such thing as favoring boys over girls in our family. Whether it is a boy or a girl, they are all children of our Song family and will inherit the same things!"

Ling Ju raised her head and looked at Grandpa and Grandma Song. Song Xiulan's kind face made her feel warm.

But the gray air above her head became thicker, and Ling Ju felt that something was wrong.

After finally finishing breakfast, Ling Ju found a seat close to Song Xiulan and took a closer look.

There was a thick gray mass on the right side of her head, about the size of an egg.

"Grandma, how did you sleep last night?"

Song Xiulan looked at Ling Ju's little face and said, "You slept well. How about you?"

"I'm fine too. I slept very comfortably."

"That's good. You can sleep whenever you want. Pregnant women should sleep more. You don't have to worry about anything at home. Don't worry, Qiqi has taken care of it."

Ling Ju was surprised, "Grandma, you know that too?"

Grandma Song covered her mouth and smiled. "Qi Qi called home after he found out you were pregnant. Coincidentally, his parents were both home that day. His mom was so happy when she answered the phone. Qi Qi then told her about the wedding. Later, Wei Wei came back and discussed some details with your mother-in-law. Of course, she also asked your parents for their opinions."

Well, everyone knows it, except that she's like a fool.

However, Ling Ju wanted to secretly inquire about Song Xiulan's physical condition and ask her if she was feeling unwell, but why did she change the subject?

Ling Ju asked a few more questions about Song Qi's childhood.

"Qi Qi, this kid, has never liked to laugh since he was little. When he was little, his mother always said he was like a little adult. But look at him now. Ever since he came home yesterday, he's been smiling like a butterfly."

"Hahaha, butterfly, grandma, you are really good at describing it."

Ling Ju turned around to look at Song Qi who was having a manly conversation with the men. Sure enough, he was smiling like a butterfly.

Ling Ju withdrew her gaze and pretended to casually put her hand on Song Xiulan, wanting to secretly transfer some energy. Unexpectedly, Song Xiulan grabbed her hand and then began to give her instructions.
