Chapter 8 Twins

The next morning, Ling Ju slept until she woke up naturally, and saw that it was only seven o'clock.

When I got up, I found that Song Qi was gone. I looked at the pocket watch on the table and it was still there.

I got out of bed and picked up my pocket watch. A trace of energy instantly flowed into my body, and the pain in my wounds was greatly reduced. My ankles were no longer sore and were healing. The injuries on my body were fine, but I was worried about the scar on my forehead. Maybe the pocket watch would be effective.

After a few minutes, he put the pocket watch back in its place. He couldn't suck too much. It was abnormal for the wound to heal too quickly.

After a quick wash and some medicine, Song Qi actually came in with breakfast.

"You're up, why don't you get some more sleep?"

"Once you get used to it, you'll wake up naturally."

Smelling the aroma of medicine, Song Qi placed the breakfast he bought on the table: two boiled eggs, a lunch box of millet porridge, and the same small pickles.

"Don't you want to eat?"

"I ate it and came back."

"oh."

She went to the kitchen to get a spoon to drink the porridge. Song Qi stood by and peeled eggs for her. Ling Ju was a little surprised. Did this man take the wrong medicine?

"I can do it myself."

There was no reply, and two plump white eggs were placed in front of him.

Looking at the fair skin of the girl in front of him, Song Qi thought of her pair of plump white feet again. He didn't know where his thoughts came from, but as soon as he thought of them, it was a deadly thing.

Watching Ling Ju put the white egg into her mouth in small bites and chew it, he swallowed unconsciously, and then the girl took the egg and placed it in front of him.

"You can eat one too. I can't eat two."

"good."

If this egg is that white little foot, hey, what are you thinking about!

This is an egg, not a foot! Song Qi felt that he was a little abnormal and a little baffled.

Seeing the man's expression change, Ling Ju looked down at her clothes. Wasn't her cleavage exposed? She looked at Song Qi again. That look was familiar to her. He had looked at her the same way in bed that day, but at that time, there was more helplessness and confusion in his eyes.

As expected, he is a man in the morning, with only 50% rationality on the top and the other 50% on the bottom.

"What are you thinking about? Are you running out of brains?"

The girl's joyful voice rang out. Song Qi coughed twice in embarrassment, then straightened his face and said, "I wasn't thinking about anything." He couldn't say that he was thinking about Bai Bai's small feet...

"Don't think I don't know what you're thinking." I really want to tease this innocent guy, hahahaha.

..........

"Hurry up and eat."

"You're thinking of something colorful, aren't you?"

"color?"

"Yes, something yellow."

"..." How could this girl be so shameless when she spoke.

After drinking the last mouthful of porridge, the medicine was ready. He drank a large amount of black and bitter medicine soup in one gulp and wiped his mouth.

"Come back early tonight so we can talk."

The man looked at her. "What are you talking about?"

"Your mother is coming in a week, and I don't even know where your family is from. What do you think?"

"good."

After Song Qi left, Ling Ju got up and called Hu Wei, saying that she was injured in a robbery last night and asked for a day off. However, Hu Wei directly asked her to take three days off, and she had no choice but to accept the reality.

Being busy for a period of time has become a habit. Suddenly I have some free time and I don’t even know what to do. I lie down for a while, sit for a while, stand for a while, drink some water, toss and turn and look at the time. It’s only half past ten. I want to wash my hair and take a shower but I dare not get wet. I secretly look at the wound under the gauze and find that it has healed. I sigh in my heart at the power of the pocket watch.

I was so bored that I decided to lie down. Unexpectedly, as soon as I lay down, there was a knock on the door.

“Who is it?”

"Juzi, your brother, and Officer Yu."

Ling Ju quickly opened the door.

"Officer Yu, what are the results of the investigation?" He filled Officer Yu's glass with water.

"The bald guy's name is Zheng Qiang, and the buzz cut is Yang Wei. They're both unemployed and just hang out on the streets. They're both orphans without parents and have no criminal records. Comrade Ling Ju, those two guys last night insisted they were spur of the moment trying to rob you. They had no premeditation and didn't know you. So, we're temporarily detaining them on robbery charges. Once we go through the formalities and file a lawsuit, they could get a prison sentence of one to two years."

"Only two years at most?"

"Yes."

Ling Ju and Ling Yong looked at each other. Ling Yong looked very dissatisfied. He should have beaten those two guys harder yesterday.

"Officer Yu, could you help check Zheng Qiang's family relationships, back to eighteen generations?" Ling Ju didn't quite believe that this matter had nothing to do with Zheng Pingping.

"The information we've found so far is that he's an orphan, but if you request we can investigate in more detail."

After explaining the situation, Officer Yu left. Ling Yong gave Ling Ju a bunch of instructions and also left.

Ling Ju lay back on the bed, thinking about the whole story. She intuitively felt that this matter must be related to Zheng Pingping. She couldn't just wait for news from the police, that would be too slow!

A sudden flash of inspiration struck me in the midst of my distress. Could Hu Wei do it? A local, working in such a large factory and responsible for recruitment, he must have some connections!

Thinking that he couldn't lie down anymore, he got up and called Hu Wei. After telling him the whole story, Hu Wei agreed readily.

Walking slowly home from the phone room, she unexpectedly ran into Song Qi on his way back to deliver lunch. She was a little happy and went up to him to hold his arm. Unexpectedly, the man stiffened for a moment, but he refused to let go of her hand. Song Qi, mindful of her sprained ankle, extended his arm to support her.

Hmm, there are obvious muscles behind the shoulders, and the arms are strong and powerful. I gently pinched them with my fingers, feeling the hardness under my hands, and laughed to myself! Hahahaha!

When they got home and set the table for dinner, Song Qi opened two large lunch boxes. One was full of vegetables, stewed beans, potatoes and even a few slices of meat, and the other was full of rice.
