Chuan Xiaoxiang not only has white tripe but also black tripe. Ling Ju was so happy that there were even duck intestines.
She moved the food in the pot skillfully, which surprised Sun Yun a little.
"Orange, how did you know to eat it like this?"
Ling Ju stared at her tripe and duck intestines, pretending not to care. "How else can I eat it? I read in a book that this way I can keep it as tender as possible."
"That's right. When I went to the southwest before, the locals told me that. If it weren't for my love for hot pot, I really wouldn't want to live in a place with constant rain and little sunshine for so long!"
"You've lived in the southwest! I love the food there, too, but it's a shame I've never had the chance to go!" Ling Ju had actually been to Chongqing, but not Sichuan. Chongqing's hot pot and snacks were incredibly delicious, and she'd always wanted to go back, but she never had the chance.
"I've lived in the southwest since I was 15. My mother is from the southwest, and my father and aunt are from Beijing. My taste is like my mother's. My aunt said that when my mother was mean to me, she couldn't eat anything, but wanted to eat hot pot for every meal. However, there were not many ingredients at that time. My aunt said that my mother could eat a handful of wild vegetables and two eggs happily."
After Sun Yun finished speaking, she looked at Ling Ju who was busy talking to her while eating, "Let's eat for a while and then chat!"
Ling Ju nodded vigorously and started eating the pot.
But she didn't dare eat too much watermelon because it would take up too much space in her stomach.
The coriander meatballs made by Aunt Sun were really delicious. They were not big in size and were cooked after just two or three minutes of boiling in the pot. One bite was full of the aroma of coriander and meat, as well as the gravy. Ling Ju ate half a plate by herself.
The soup base is also spicy and numbing. The vegetables are cooked in the clear soup pot on one side, while the meatballs, meat and other offal are cooked in the other side. The aroma is so fragrant that Ling Ju wants to do a somersault.
She hadn't eaten such a good hot pot for a long time. Sun Yun's restaurant definitely uses only high-quality ingredients.
No blending, no additives, no flavors or preservatives!
Seeing her eating so happily, Sun Yun felt better about her appetite.
The three of them devoured the food at the table in no time, and in the end all of them collapsed on the table, holding their stomachs.
During the meal, Ling Ju went out to the restroom and found that the lobby, which was originally a table, now had six tables. Every table was enjoying the meal, but most of them were having shabu-shabu hotpots.
There were also people in the private room across from them, probably all men, and they could vaguely hear a familiar voice. Just as they were about to return to their own private room, a familiar person came out of that room.
Yanjintang.
What a coincidence, we always meet.
Yan Jintang was also a little surprised to see her, "Miss Ling, are you eating here too?"
"Yes, Brother Yan Wu is treating us here?"
Yan Jintang nodded. "It's not a personal thing, it's a business dinner. Uncle Song is also there. Do you want to go in and say hello?"
Ling Ju quickly shook her head, "No, I'd be embarrassed if there were other people around! Then I'll go back first, I haven't finished eating yet."
Yan Jintang nodded, then called her again.
Ling Ju turned around in surprise, "What's wrong?"
Yan Jintang leaned a little closer and said, "I've been taking medicine for the past two days. Do you think I look better?"
Ling Ju looked at Yan Jintang carefully. His complexion was indeed much rosier, but it was only slightly better. "This is a good sign. Keep eating."
Yan Jintang nodded, "Okay, then you go back, I'm going to the bathroom."
After Ling Ju returned to the private room, she found that the table had been cleaned and new dishes had been served. Fortunately, she went to the bathroom to clear out the food, otherwise she would not be able to eat it.
"What kind of dish is this?" Ajiu looked at the large plate of green vegetables that had just been served. It was spinach, but the leaves were thicker than spinach. It was not rapeseed, and the stems were very long and thick.
Ling Ju knew what dish it was, and she loved it, but she didn't say it, waiting for Ajiu to guess.
Sun Yun looked at her and asked, "Guess what?"
Ling Ju smiled slightly. "Yunyun, I'm a well-read person. I read books and newspapers when I have nothing to do. This isn't a problem for me. This is wood ear vegetable! It's sticky and delicious. It tastes a bit like purslane in the north."
Sun Yun gave a thumbs up, "Song Wei didn't lie to me, you really know a lot. Especially about food."
"Haha, a must! Hurry up and simmer it, this is super delicious!"
Ling Ju picked up a handful with a serving chopstick and put it into the pot. Two minutes later, the three of them scooped it up and put it in their mouths.
This is the taste! Ling Ju really loves wood ear vegetable, but this dish is almost non-existent in the north.
But Ling Ju was very confused, "Yunyun, this dish isn't available in the north, how did you get it?"
"My aunt brought back seeds from the southwest and grew them herself. I love this vegetable so much, so she went out of her way to grow some for me. She lives nearby and has a very large balcony planted entirely with wood ear vegetables! This vegetable is not sold to the public; we don't even have enough for ourselves. I guess my aunt went back specially to get it just now."
Ling Ju understood, "But why don't you two live together? Can you still take care of each other?"
Sun Yun glanced at Ajiu and replied, "Since I started my own business, we haven't lived together because there are men coming in and out of the house, and I'm afraid of gossip. You know us ordinary people, seeing two single women living with different men coming in and out, people will say all sorts of things. Later, I discussed it with my aunt and moved to the house my parents left behind. There are fewer people there, it's quieter, and there's more space."
Ling Ju completely agreed, and this was still the case even in the 21st century.
There was a girl living opposite the house she rented before. She had lived there for two years and brought two boyfriends home. She heard someone downstairs saying that the girl was working in a special industry and so on.
