Chapter 8: Little Wolf
An Mingji held the clothes in his hand and looked back at Gu Jin who was approaching the room. After seeing the water in the enamel basin in the other's hand, he suddenly realized.
It turns out that he was not disliked.
Gu Jin walked towards An Mingji, holding him with one hand, and holding the enamel basin with the other hand and putting it on the shelf.
"Wash first, and then we can put on clean clothes."
An Mingji lowered his head and replied in a low voice: "Okay."
It's a relief.
He felt his heart beating up and down, and his heartbeat quickened.
After Gu Jin washed An Mingji's hands, he used a towel to wipe the blood-stained areas on other parts of his body before letting him change his clothes.
It’s no wonder that the clothes she wore a few years ago fit An Mingji perfectly now.
Staring at the other person's bruised and swollen facial features, it was a delicate and good-looking face with the handsome features of an adult.
Gu Jin suddenly asked, "Xiao An, how old are you?"
"Thirteen."
An Mingji pinched the corner of his clothes and answered anxiously.
"..." Gu Jin's eyes widened.
This child is only three years younger than her.
But he looks as small as a child of seven or eight years old.
Despite his frail appearance, it was easy for Gu Jin to hold him.
If she remembered correctly, the older kid who bullied An Mingji at the village entrance, the one she saw first and the one who ran away after saying something harsh, was the same age as An Mingji.
That was the son of Liu Laoer from Qingshan Village, named Liu Dapeng.
The reason why she remembered it clearly was because that person left a very deep impression on her.
Although Liu Dapeng is younger than her, he is a "bully" in the village. He often hangs out with a group of kids who don't go to school, stealing things for no reason.
And this person bullied her a lot.
Liu Dapeng is obviously the same age as An Mingji, but they look like they are five or six years apart.
Gu Jin looked at An Mingji's thin, short, and obviously malnourished body, with heartache and pity revealed on his face.
Just then a gurgling sound was heard.
Gu Jin glanced at An Mingji's stomach, still making protesting sounds.
When An Mingji uttered the voice, her face was flushed as she lowered her head.
Seeing him like this, Gu Jin reached out and touched his head: "Wait here, I'll go find something to eat."
After saying that, he turned and left.
In the kitchen, Chen Hong sat on a small stool at the stove, making a fire, and complained to her little daughter who came in to help: "...Last year's harvest was not good. This year's grain can only be harvested in at least three months. She also brought back a little boy who eats for free. How much food does he eat! The food at home is not enough for us to eat..."
When Gu Jin approached the kitchen, he heard his aunt complaining and grumbling inside.
She walked straight into the kitchen without stopping.
After seeing her figure, Chen Hong stopped complaining and pursed her lips.
Gu Jin smiled and said, "Aunt, is there anything to eat in the kitchen? Xiao An was almost fainted from hunger. I just realized that he had been hungry for several days."
When Chen Hong heard her words, she suppressed her anger and was about to say no when she heard her say that she almost fainted from hunger. Her face changed several times.
She pouted and stood up, saying to Gu Jin in dissatisfaction: "Wait!"
Chen Hong walked to the cupboard in front of the kitchen, opened the curtain and took out a yellow steamed bun. She walked to Gu Jin and said with a painful look on her face, "Here!"
"Thank you, auntie."
Gu Jin took the yellow steamed bun and thanked him with a smile.
As the saying goes, don't hit a smiling person. Chen Hong looked at the beautiful smiling face of her cheap niece and felt a little complicated.
