Standing to the side, Shen Xiaoxiao kept watching Uncle Jiu's receding figure and couldn't help but say softly, "Although Uncle Jiu is still quite healthy, he looks a bit malnourished."
A hint of worry and pity flickered in her eyes.
"Mom! Quickly stop Grandpa Bo and make him wait a moment!"
Shen Xiaoxiao turned around abruptly and was shocked to find her mother holding her in her arms, making a move to walk out the door.
By this time, Grandpa Bo had already walked a short distance.
Before Ma Aning could think too much, her mouth reacted before her brain could: "Uncle Bo, please wait a moment, I have something I want to tell you."
Her voice was clear and loud, instantly reaching Grandpa Bo's ears.
Hearing the shouts, Shen Bo stopped, turned around, and walked back, asking with a hint of confusion, "What's going on?"
Shen Xiaoxiao thought to herself impatiently, "Mom, please tell Grandpa Bo that there seems to be something growing in his stomach, but it's not too serious right now. If he can go to the hospital for a detailed examination and have it removed, he will recover quickly."
Before he could finish speaking, the little guy blurted everything out like beans spilling from a bamboo tube.
Ma Aning then came to her senses, her gaze involuntarily falling on Shen Bo's stomach. With a serious expression, she continued, "Uncle Bo, if you trust me, have your son accompany you to the hospital tomorrow for a thorough check-up, especially for your stomach."
She paused, then added, "As for how I found out about this, please don't ask. Just listen to me and go to the hospital for a check-up as soon as possible."
After speaking, Ma Aning stared at Shen Bo with a serious and earnest expression, as if this matter could not be delayed in the slightest.
Shen Bo hesitated for a moment, "A Ning, what did you notice? My stomach has been bothering me lately, it keeps aching."
"Ha! What can you possibly figure out from her? It's just pure blind luck!"
Shen Zicheng walked at a leisurely pace, falling right at the back of the group.
His contemptuous words swept past everyone's ears like a cold wind, instantly making the previously harmonious atmosphere tense.
He raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a disdainful smile, and his eyes were filled with contempt and disdain for the person being talked about.
“No one will think you’re mute if you don’t speak!” Ma Aning rolled her eyes and retorted without holding back.
His eyes seemed to spit fire, shooting straight at the other person.
Shen Zicheng was clearly caught off guard by this sudden counterattack and was momentarily stunned.
But he quickly came to his senses and retorted angrily, "You...you shrew! I won't stoop to your level! Uncle Bo, let me give you a piece of advice: don't listen to her nonsense. What does she know?"
As he spoke, Shen Zicheng stormed off in a huff, leaving behind only an angry and disheveled figure.
Hearing these words, Shen Xiaoxiao, who was standing to the side, turned red with anger, clenched her fists, and opened and closed her mouth as if she wanted to retort immediately.
However, because she was still young, the words she uttered were just a series of unclear baby babbling, which made people laugh.
Seeing her daughter's adorable yet angry expression, Ma Aning couldn't help but laugh out loud.
She gently patted Chen Xiaoxiao's head and comforted her, "Baby, don't be angry. It's not worth getting angry with someone who's unreasonable."
At this moment, Ma Aning turned to look at Shen Bo, a gentle smile returning to her face, and continued, "Uncle Bo, you should still go to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow. Although I can only see a little bit of a clue, I can't be completely sure."
"But when you feel unwell, you're bound to know it, right? Getting checked early puts your mind at ease."
Shen Bo nodded slightly in agreement after hearing Ma Aning's words. He looked at Ma Aning gratefully and said, "Aning, thank you so much for your concern. I'll try my best to go to the hospital tomorrow."
Ma Aning quickly waved her hand and replied with a smile, "Uncle Bo, you're too kind! As long as you're healthy, everything is fine."
"Don't blame me for being nosy, it's getting late, I'll head back now. The other mischievous boy should be awake by now." Ma Aning made an excuse to leave.
Shen Bo stood still, his gaze fixed on Ma Aning's receding figure.
Only after the figure completely disappeared from sight did he slowly withdraw his gaze and gently rub his still aching stomach.
With each touch, he could feel the pain emanating from deep within, crashing against his nerves in waves.
Shen Bo took a deep breath, enduring his physical discomfort, and walked home with heavy, slow steps.
A cold wind howled past, stinging his cheeks, but he seemed oblivious, his mind preoccupied with what had just happened.
Meanwhile, Ma Aning rushed home with her child in her arms.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw that her husband, Shen Zishan, and son were already up.
Shen Zishan approached with a wronged expression, muttering, "Wife, it's so cold outside, where did you take the baby? I've searched every corner of the house, but I can't find you anywhere!"
Ma Aning smiled slightly and explained gently, "You're sleeping so soundly, how could I bear to wake you up?"
"I had just heard the village chief blow his whistle to gather everyone, and I was worried that I would be late, so I quickly grabbed my daughter and went over." As she spoke, she sighed softly, her arms aching from holding her child for so long.
Ma Aning was exhausted. After walking to the bedside, she carefully placed Shen Xiaoxiao, whom she was holding, on the soft bed.
Shen Xiaoxiao knew that her mother was working hard, so she lay on the bed without crying or making a fuss. She just blinked her big, bright eyes and looked around curiously, glancing at her father and then at her mother.
Ma Aning sat on a stool to the side, slightly out of breath. After resting for a while, the words her daughter had said before suddenly flashed through her mind, and her heart was filled with doubt and confusion.
She slowly turned her head, her gaze falling on Shen Xiaoxiao, her face filled with questions.
She parted her lips slightly and asked in a trembling voice, "My dear girl, how do you know medicine? Is it true that Grandpa Bo had something in his stomach?"
After saying this, she stared intently at Shen Xiaoxiao, as if trying to find the answer in her clear eyes.
Shen Xiaoxiao did not answer Ma Aning's question immediately.
