Shen Xiaoxiao stood quietly by the window, her gaze fixed on the busy nurse.
Time passed second by second, and five minutes flew by, but the young nurse seemed completely absorbed in the scarf she was knitting, showing no sign of stopping her work.
Shen Xiaoxiao's patience was wearing thin. She took a deep breath and mustered her courage to speak again, "Excuse me, nurse, I'm really in a hurry. Could you please get my medicine for me first?"
"You can continue knitting your scarf later," she asked softly.
To Shen Xiaoxiao's surprise, the nurse, instead of getting up to fetch the medicine as she had hoped, suddenly raised her head and glared at her fiercely after hearing these words.
His already somewhat impatient tone was now filled with hostility: "What's the rush? Are you in such a hurry? Are you in a rush to be reincarnated?"
This sudden rebuke was like a bucket of cold water poured over her head. Shen Xiaoxiao's face instantly turned bright red, and the anger in her heart was ignited in an instant.
She gritted her teeth, her eyes wide with anger, and raised her voice as she retorted, "Try saying that again!"
The nurse was clearly startled by Shen Xiaoxiao's sudden, sharp shout, and her body trembled involuntarily.
But she quickly regained her composure, puffed out her chest, and retorted defiantly, "What, you want to hit me?"
Faced with the nurse's unreasonable attitude, Shen Xiaoxiao's anger flared like a lit firecracker. Was this scarf more important than the patient's condition?
"Are you in such a hurry to wear it on your way to the underworld?"
Shen Xiaoxiao retorted without backing down, directly retorting to the exact same harsh words the nurse had said to her earlier.
Upon hearing these harsh accusations, the young nurse trembled with anger, as if all the blood in her body had rushed to her head.
Her face instantly turned as red as a ripe apple, and even the base of her neck flushed red.
Her originally fair and slender fingers were now trembling slightly with anger, pointing straight in the direction of Shen Xiaoxiao.
At the same time, she retorted without any mercy, "You...you ignorant country bumpkin, you really have absolutely no manners!"
"I really don't know how someone as vulgar and rude as you has the nerve to show your face in our hospital!"
Despite the nurse's fierce insults and accusations, Shen Xiaoxiao showed no fear whatsoever.
Instead, she straightened her back without hesitation and bravely met the other person's hostile gaze.
Shen Xiaoxiao's eyes widened, and she retorted loudly and righteously, "Hmph! So what if I come from the countryside? Does that mean I should be inferior to others?"
“Let me tell you, although I come from the countryside, you can’t call me a country bumpkin. We country bumpkins have never eaten a single grain of rice from your family! On the contrary, you’re eating the grain grown by us country bumpkins.”
"Furthermore, I only came to this hospital today to pick up my medication, and I will pay you every penny I owe!"
"It's you self-righteous, condescending city dwellers who always like to rely on your so-called status and position to criticize others and look down on them! This kind of behavior is simply despicable!"
The heated argument between the two quickly attracted the attention of other patients and their families who had come for treatment. Everyone gathered around, curiously watching the farce that was escalating.
In an instant, the once quiet and orderly hospital corridor became noisy and chaotic.
"It's that nurse again. She's always so arrogant and looks down on everyone. She's always making a fuss, and we residents here are sick of hearing it," one of the older men said.
"What's it to you? A bunch of old fogies!" The nurse's words were so offensive and disgusting that they left everyone speechless.
It was quite a contrast to her image as a nurse that such vulgar language came from the mouth of a young girl.
Standing to the side, Shen Xiaoxiao couldn't help but shake her head inwardly upon hearing such rude words.
She knew that this young nurse was usually arrogant and outspoken, but she didn't want to get entangled with her any longer. So she turned around and walked away towards the office without hesitation.
The young nurse, on the other hand, seemed completely unconcerned about the foul language she had just uttered; such behavior was nothing new to her.
Shen Xiaoxiao went straight to the dean's office and gently knocked on the door.
Soon, a clear "Please come in" came from inside the house; the voice was a gentle woman's voice.
After receiving permission, Shen Xiaoxiao pushed open the door without hesitation and stepped into the room.
A woman, who looked to be in her forties, was sitting in a chair behind the desk. She had a pretty face but also a somewhat dignified air.
At this moment, she was looking at Shen Xiaoxiao, who had suddenly barged in, with a questioning gaze, and asked, "Who are you? What do you want with me?"
Shen Xiaoxiao composed herself, looked directly at the other person, and asked softly, "Excuse me, are you the dean?"
The woman nodded slightly and replied, "That's right, I am the dean here. Did you come here specifically to see me?"
As she spoke, she looked Shen Xiaoxiao up and down, seemingly trying to discern some clues from her appearance and expression.
"I am a barefoot doctor from Shenjia Village. Our team has run out of medicine, and I've come today to purchase more," Shen Xiaoxiao explained her purpose.
"According to the regulations above, as long as you have a letter of introduction from your village, you can get the appropriate amount of Western medicine from me. Just go to the pharmacy downstairs, pay the money, and you don't need to come to me," Qi Ping said with a frown.
She's really busy and doesn't have time for such a small thing. Although the hospital is small, there are a lot of miscellaneous things to deal with.
"If I could get it, I wouldn't bother you." Shen Xiaoxiao smiled bitterly and shook her head helplessly.
Upon hearing this, Qi Ping was taken aback and asked with a puzzled look, "What do you mean?"
Shen Xiaoxiao took a deep breath, as if she had mustered up her courage, and cautiously began to speak: "Then... then I'll tell you."
At this moment, Qi Ping stared intently at Shen Xiaoxiao, motionless, waiting for her to begin her story: "It's that nurse in your pharmacy downstairs, she has such a terrible temper!"
“I went to her to get my medicine and waited there for a long time, but she just sat there without moving, busy knitting her own scarf.”
At this point, Shen Xiaoxiao's voice rose slightly: "I couldn't wait any longer, so I went over to urge her to get me the medicine quickly."
I didn't update yesterday because I was rushing back to my hometown, so today's update will be a little late.
