Chapter 298 Forgetting Important Things

Chapter 298 Forgetting Important Things

My uncle pondered for a moment, then stroked his chin, as if recalling something.

After a short while, he slowly opened his mouth and said softly, "Now that you mention it, I suddenly remembered something. It seems that Old Zhang's family in the alley next door also has a courtyard that they plan to sell."

He paused slightly at this point, then continued, "However, their family's situation is a bit complicated right now."

"That house itself is indeed quite nice, but the price might be a little higher than the one I have."

Then, he frowned slightly, thought for a moment, and added, "Another thing to note is that there are several brothers in their family, and they are currently embroiled in a bitter dispute over that house."

"If we can cleverly take advantage of this situation, we might actually be able to buy that house successfully."

Upon hearing this, Dai Xingyun's eyes lit up instantly, revealing a keen interest.

He quickly stepped forward and asked, "Uncle, could you help us set up a connection? We really want to see that house in person."

After hearing this, my uncle nodded vigorously and agreed, "No problem! Since you really want to buy it, I'll go and find out the details for you."

Finally, as if remembering something important, he emphasized, "By the way, the location of Old Zhang's house is much better than mine; it's closer to Peking University."

Dai Xingyun's lips curled up slightly, revealing a faint smile. He looked at his uncle with a firm gaze and said slowly, "Uncle, thank you so much for your trouble!"

"But don't worry, as long as the house meets our expectations in every way, the price will definitely not be a problem."

Looking into Dai Xingyun's sincere face and feeling the sincerity in his words, Uncle's heart softened. He nodded and replied, "Alright, since you want to see it, Uncle will definitely do his best to help you with this matter."

"Okay, I'll go talk to Lao Zhang tomorrow and see if we can reach a satisfactory agreement. I'll let you know when I have any news."

After leaving his uncle's house, Dai Xingyun was in a great mood. He turned to Li Qiang and Xiahou Jie beside him and said with a hearty laugh, "Come on, it's my treat today. I'll treat you two to a good meal at Manfulou Restaurant to thank you for your help during this time."

The three of them went to Manfulou together, ordered a table full of sumptuous dishes, and chatted and laughed while raising their glasses.

After a satisfying meal, Dai Xingyun and Xiahou Jie waved goodbye to Li Qiang.

Then, he and Xiahou Jie walked home side by side.

Xiahou Jie reached out and gently patted Dai Xingyun's shoulder, asking with a curious smile, "Xingyun, you've already bought a house for Xiaoxiao and one for yourself. That should be enough for you, so why are you still thinking about buying another house?"

Upon hearing this, Dai Xingyun's expression remained calm, but a subtle, unspoken meaning flashed in his deep eyes.

He replied calmly, "Xiahou, you should know that Kyoto is the capital of our country, and its importance is self-evident."

"With the continuous development and progress of the times, the economy, culture and other fields here will inevitably usher in tremendous changes and take off."

"So I think buying several properties in this area, whether for investment or personal use, is a very wise choice. Who knows, the value of these properties might increase several times over in the future!"

"Buying a house now is not only for living in, but also for investment."

Furthermore, Xiaoxiao specifically instructed me to buy her two sets of apartments; one set will naturally belong to her, while the other needs to be registered in her parents' names.

Upon hearing this, Xiahou Jie nodded repeatedly, exclaiming, "Xingyun, I must say, your mind works incredibly fast! Impressive!"

"However, on the other hand, do you have enough funds to cover the expenses of these two houses?"

"After all, buying that courtyard house alone cost a lot of money. If we were to buy another one, I'm afraid we might not be able to afford it."

Faced with Xiahou Jie's concerns, Dai Xingyun simply smiled, revealing a hint of undisguised confidence in his words: "As for the money, you can rest assured. Xiaoxiao and I have already prepared the money needed to buy the courtyard house."

He paused briefly, then turned to Xiahou Jie and continued, "As for you, I think you probably have enough money to buy a courtyard house like this."

"So, you should really look around these next few days. If you find something suitable, you might as well buy one with me!"

"I have a strong feeling that housing prices in Kyoto will only rise and never fall. Now is the time to buy while prices are still reasonable."

Xiahou Jie had no doubt about Dai Xingyun's abilities, and he said with a smile, "Sure! I'm free tomorrow anyway, so I'll go out for a stroll and take a look at those old courtyard houses."

"If there's a suitable one, I'll get one for myself. But do you think we should tell Liang Jiu and the others about it?"

Dai Xingyun thought for a moment, then nodded slightly in agreement, saying, "Hmm... I think it's better to mention it to them. As for whether they buy it or not, that's their own business."

And so, the two returned to the compound together.

Upon arriving at the compound, they said their goodbyes and went their separate ways to their homes.

Dai Xingyun walked slowly, but his mind was constantly on his mind.

When he got home and sat on the sofa to rest, he always felt like he had forgotten something important.

Time passed by, and Dai Xingyun finished washing up. Sitting on the bed, she wondered what she had forgotten. As the night grew deeper, Dai Xingyun felt her eyelids begin to grow heavy.

Just as he was about to drift off to sleep, he suddenly sat bolt upright as if struck by lightning—oh dear! He finally remembered what important thing he had forgotten.

It turns out that I was so busy all day that I completely forgot about calling Xiaoxiao.

He quickly raised his hand to check his watch and found that the hour hand was almost pointing to 9 o'clock.
