Chapter 47 Returning Home with the Child

Shen Xiaoxiao blinked her slightly hazy big eyes, trying hard to see her surroundings clearly.

Although her vision was still blurry, her curious gaze swept around like a radar.

Just then, Shen Zishan said gently, "Wife, you and the children should rest for a while. I'll go to the village to buy some plump old hens to nourish your body and help with lactation." Before he finished speaking, he hurriedly went out the door.

Ma Aning turned to look at the two little ones beside her and found that they had already opened their round eyes.

She called out softly with delight, "Oh dear, Mommy's big babies and little babies are all awake! Are their tummy tummy growling with hunger?"

Shen Xiaoxiao's stomach had indeed been rumbling for a while, and now she was so hungry that her stomach was practically sticking to her back.

She muttered pitifully to herself, "I'm so hungry, I want some rice porridge."

Upon hearing this, Ma Aning quickly hugged her little girl and said with a smile, "Mommy's sweet baby is hungry. Come on, Mommy will feed you milk."

Originally, Shen Xiaoxiao didn't really want to eat, after all, she was an adult with an adult soul, and she felt embarrassed to be breastfed.

But when the rich aroma of milk wafted over, her little body seemed to be instantly bewitched, and she opened her mouth uncontrollably, greedily sucking.

After all, this little guy has only been born a short time, so his appetite is quite limited.

After only a few sips, she let out a satisfied burp, then mentally exclaimed in a childish voice, "Wow, I'm so full! I don't want to eat anymore."

After hearing her daughter's thoughts, Ma Aning carefully picked her up and gently patted her back to help her expel the air she had inhaled.

After patting her to burp, she gently put her little girl back on the bed, then reached out and carefully held her son in her arms.

Our little soldier king also looked resistant, but since he was just born, he couldn't express it on his face, and Ma Aning couldn't hear his thoughts.

Unable to bear the torment of hunger any longer, he also began to drink milk in large gulps, making "glug glug" sounds.

After he finished drinking, his little face, which was originally a little red, turned bright red, just like a ripe apple. He never expected that he would become a baby and have to drink milk.

Just then, Shen Xiaoxiao's inner monologue rang out at just the right moment: "Hehe, but brother drank milk too, so it's okay. After all, we're still little babies. If we don't drink milk, what else can we eat?"

"Mom and Dad can't afford expensive formula, and even if they wanted to, they might not be able to buy it."

Hearing his sister's innocent and heartfelt words, he immediately felt all his previous wild thoughts vanish.

He no longer clung to the issue of drinking milk, but instead felt at ease treating himself as an ordinary baby.

Before long, the little ones, who had just eaten and drunk their fill, started to feel sleepy again.

Shen Xiaoxiao blinked her big, sleepy eyes, then slowly closed them and drifted into a sweet dream.

Just then, a series of urgent and loud knocks came from outside the house. The "bang bang bang" sound was deafening, as if it was trying to break the door down.

Ma Aning sat to the side, not immediately getting up to see who was knocking so rudely on the door.

However, the loud noise successfully woke up the two sleeping children.

Although they were quite frightened, the two children simply looked around with bewildered eyes and did not cry or make a fuss.

"Mom, what's that noise outside? Why is someone knocking so hard? Are they trying to cause trouble?"

While rubbing her sleepy eyes, Shen Xiaoxiao asked in her mind's ear in a daze.

Although her head was still spinning, the rapid and heavy knocking on the door instantly dispelled most of her sleepiness.

Ma Aning sat on the edge of the bed. After hearing her daughter's question, she replied softly, "Your father went to the village and hasn't come back yet. I don't know who's knocking on the door so urgently. I'm home alone with you all, so I can't just open the door. Let them knock!"

Just then, a furious roar suddenly came from outside: "What are you doing in my house?"

Shen Zishan returned, his voice filled with vigilance and dissatisfaction.

Immediately afterwards, another man's voice rang out: "Where's Mom? Mom went to the hospital with you, why hasn't she come back yet?"

The voice sounded extremely anxious and agitated, clearly belonging to Shen Zicheng, Shen Zishan's brother.

"I don't believe the police didn't notify you." Shen Zishan's tone remained calm, but it subtly revealed a sense of helplessness and repression.

"You beast, you actually sent our mother to the police station!" The two brothers, Shen Zicheng and Shen Zicheng, were visibly furious.

Shen Zicheng's eyes widened in fury, and his fist lashed out with lightning speed as he roared, "You beast, you even sent your own mother to the police station!" This punch contained boundless anger and despair.

Faced with his second brother's sudden attack, Shen Zishan raised his fist and retaliated without hesitation, shouting, "My mother? I wish I had never had a mother like this! What kind of mother is so heartless as to sell her own grandchildren!"

“If our family were truly destitute and driven to the point where we had to sell our children to survive, then I would have nothing to say. But the problem is, that's not the case at all!”

At this point, Shen Zishan's voice became hoarse with excitement, and even carried a hint of sobbing.

The people who had been watching the commotion and trying to stop the brothers from fighting fell silent immediately after hearing these words.

They looked at each other, their faces showing astonishment. Even Zhong Chen, who had been trembling with anger and ready to rush over and discipline his son, stopped in his tracks and stood there dumbfounded.

With a heavy, trembling mouth and an incredulous expression, he asked, "Third...Third son, what did you just say? Explain yourself clearly to your father!"

Shen Zishan took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, but sobs still escaped his throat: "Father, I don't believe you were completely unaware of what Mother did."

“Yesterday at the hospital, I made it clear to Qian Danu that from now on, I will sever all ties with you all. We will never cross paths again, and we will never have anything to do with each other in this lifetime!” After saying this, tears streamed down her cheeks like a burst dam.

"Considering that you raised me, I won't sue her. From now on, the relationship between you and my father is severed." Shen Zishan took out the letter of severance that he had written when he returned home and handed it to He Zhong.

“How could your mother do such a thing? She may be a bit unreliable, but she would never sell her grandchildren.” The heavy voice trailed off, “Was it you? Did you and your wife deliberately do this because you don’t want to take care of me and my wife in our old age?”

"Ha, if you don't believe me, you can go to the hospital and ask around. Then I'll ask your whole family to sign and put their fingerprints on my papers, and I'll never have anything to do with any of you again."

Shen Zishan looked like he was about to collapse from the blow, and he limped into the door.
