Chapter 356 Going to the Market to Buy Fireworks

Chapter 356 Going to the Market to Buy Fireworks

After dinner, Shen Xuewei and the Chu brothers visited other villagers.

Previously, on New Year's Day, Chu Fu bought fireworks to burn.

With Chinese New Year just a few days away, Chu Dexi was taken by his friends to see the fireworks they had prepared when he visited their homes. He was thoroughly impressed and filled with envy.

After leaving his friend's house, he looked at Shen Xuewei with longing eyes, tugging at her sleeve and saying:

"Sis, can we buy fireworks for Chinese New Year? I really want to set off fireworks at home..."

Chen Fangli was frugal, and Chu Fu was also economical.

The two of them were willing to buy some small fireworks to play with during the Chinese New Year.

The two of them absolutely refused to buy those large fireworks that go up in the sky.

Just that one time on New Year's Day, he bought two fireworks, which already made Chu Fu very distressed, and he had already said that he wouldn't buy any for the New Year.

Chu Dexi couldn't rely on his own parents, so he could only place his hopes on Shen Xuewei.

As long as the request isn't unreasonable, Shen Xuewei usually agrees readily.

“Okay. How about this, isn’t it market day the day after tomorrow? I’ll take you to the market then, and I’ll buy you whatever fireworks they have in town…”

Upon hearing this, Chu Dexi was so happy he almost jumped for joy.

"good!"

Chu De'an chimed in, "Sister, I want to go too."

Shen Xuewei waved her hand and said, "Alright, let's all go together."

The three of them tacitly agreed not to tell their families about going to town to buy fireworks.

When Shen Xuewei agreed to take them out to play, she and her two brothers had breakfast and then told Grandpa Chu that she would take them out to play.

Grandpa Chu didn't think much of it and readily agreed.

"Go ahead. Have fun outside, and come back early at noon."

"Okay, I got it."

Chen Fangli and Chu Fu had just finished breakfast and went out, leaving only Grandpa Chu and Shen Xuewei and her brother at home.

Shen Xuewei blocked Grandpa Chu's view, and Chu Dexi, a small boy, came out of the house carrying Shen Xuewei's bag.

After he went out, Shen Xuewei and Chu De'an followed closely behind.

Chu De'an snatched Shen Xuewei's bag from Chu Dexi's hand and slung it across his body.

Chu Dexi glared at him, then dashed ahead, clearly still angry with Chu De'an.

Seeing that the two were arguing again, Shen Xuewei didn't intend to intervene and just sighed silently.

Upon arriving at the home of Liu Jianhua, a half-baked veterinarian, Chu Dexi shouted at the top of his lungs:

"Uncle Jianhua, Uncle Jianhua, are you home?"

"I'm here, what do you want?"

Liu Jianhua came out of the house and was a little surprised to see Shen Xuewei and the other two at his home.

"What's wrong? Did something happen to your family?"

Chu Dexi was displeased. "My little Huang is perfectly fine. It just ate a whole bowl of corn porridge. It's no wonder it's okay. Uncle Jianhua, you're talking nonsense."

Liu Jianhua scratched his head and chuckled.

"You little rascal, you change your tune pretty quickly. So what are you doing here at my house?"

Shen Xuewei waved to Chu De'an, and after Chu De'an came over, she took out her wallet from her bag.

"Uncle Jianhua, I remember you have a tricycle, right? I'd like to borrow it from you."

The Chu family owns a motorcycle and a van, but Chen Fangli and Chu Fu drove them away this morning.

With the Chinese New Year approaching, Chen Fangli rushed back to Xiaoli Village to clean up before the holiday.

Today is market day, and Chu Fu is going to use his van to pick up and sell customers.

Shen Xuewei needed a vehicle, but she didn't have a driver's license, so she had to borrow a tricycle from someone in the village.

She was fairly familiar with Liu Jianhua's family in Fuxing Village, and their relationship was decent, so she thought of borrowing from them.

Liu Jianhua needed the car later and didn't want to lend it, so he tried to refuse.

"No, I need to use it later... Um, it's okay if you don't need it. You can borrow it if you want, you can use it for the whole day."

Upon seeing the two hundred yuan that Shen Xuewei handed him, he immediately changed his mind.

Shen Xuewei successfully borrowed a car, let Chu De'an and the other man get in, and drove the tricycle towards the town.

Upon arriving at the market in Mingda Town, the three of them didn't rush to buy fireworks, but instead strolled along the street.

With a tycoon like Shen Xuewei around, you can buy whatever you want.

Chu De'an, at the age of fourteen or fifteen, looked like a reincarnation of the Taotie.

As soon as we arrived in town, I said I was hungry, and I ate a little bit of everything along the street.

As for Chu Dexi, he begged Shen Xuewei to buy him two Ultraman figures.

Aside from the color, Shen Xuewei couldn't find any difference between the two Ultraman figures, but Chu Dexi liked them, so she bought them both for him.

When the two arrived at the fireworks and firecrackers stall, they were dazzled by the variety of fireworks and firecrackers.

Shen Xuewei didn't dwell on what to buy. She just listened to the shopkeeper's introduction, saying that this firework was spectacular and that this one lasted a long time. After he introduced several, Shen Xuewei simply bought some of them until the back of the tricycle was full.

With so many, burning a few every night would be enough to last from New Year's Eve until the early days of the Lunar New Year.

The three returned home with a full load.

Shen Xuewei drove a tricycle, while Chu Dexi sat beside her, holding two beloved Ultraman figures and eating.

There was a small space at the back of the car, big enough for one person, and Chu De'an squeezed in with the fireworks behind the car.

"Oh no, sis, if I buy so much, will Mom and Dad scold me?"

Hearing the words drifting from behind, Shen Xuewei glanced back and immediately saw the worry and unease on Chu De'an's face.

"What are you afraid of? I'm here for you, your sister. I bought the things, your aunt and uncle won't say anything."

Chu De'an thought about it and agreed, so he felt relieved.

A tricycle loaded with fireworks stopped in front of the Chu family's house.

Grandpa Chu was lying on a recliner by the door, basking in the sun, when he heard the noise and opened his eyes, just in time to see a truckload of fireworks.

He sat up abruptly from the recliner. "Why did you buy so many fireworks?"

Shen Xuewei got out of the car and said with a smile, "It's not the New Year, we just want to make the house lively. Burning a few every day is just right."

Chu De'an and Chu Dexi were already struggling to unload things from the car, and they didn't forget to call on Grandpa Chu for help.

"Grandpa, come help us move our things. We need to return this car to Uncle Jianhua later."

Grandpa Chu stood up, supporting himself on the handrail, and walked over.

"Hey, stop shouting, I'm coming, I'm coming."

The four of them busied themselves carrying everything into the house.

Shen Xuewei got back on the tricycle and drove it back to Liu Jianhua.

When Chu Fu and Chen Fangli returned from their respective chores, they saw the pile of fireworks in the room and noticed the guilty-looking Chu De'an and his brother. They were about to ask what had happened.

Shen Xuewei peeked out of the room as she typed on her computer keyboard.

"Second Aunt, Second Uncle, I bought the fireworks."

The two swallowed back the words they were about to say.

Chu Fu muttered, "Oh dear, all this money is going to be burned like this, what a waste..."

However, seeing his two sons looking at the fireworks with great joy, he didn't continue the conversation.

After all, it was Shen Xuewei who bought it out of kindness, and it didn't cost Chu Fu any money. He couldn't be ungrateful for the benefits he received.

During the Spring Festival, fireworks were set off at night, and a group of village children looked at Chu Dexi with envy, making him the center of their attention.
