Chapter 68 Complaints in the Office
With a loud "boom," the firecracker instantly sent the yellow basin flying.
Shen Xuewei and the other two were startled by the commotion, but it was Da Huang who reacted the fastest and most violently.
Big Yellow darted out quickly, grabbed the dog bowl in its mouth, flipped it over, revealing a small hole about the size of a thumb underneath.
Upon seeing the small hole, its eyes widened, and it barked angrily at Chu De'an a few times.
Shen Xuewei quickly realized what was happening and pointed at Dahuang, complaining, "Grandma, Second Aunt, my cousin blew up Dahuang's dog bowl."
With tears in its eyes, Da Huang ran to Shen Xuewei's side with its dog bowl in its mouth, rubbed against her hand, and whimpered a few times in grievance.
Grandma Xi shook her head and sighed, somewhat displeased, "Xiao An, why have you become so naughty?"
Chen Fangli didn't speak, but her eyes searched the ground nearby before she bent down, picked up a bamboo stick, and walked towards Chu De'an.
"Chu De'an, come here right now!"
Seeing that things were going badly, Chu De'an turned to run, but he couldn't escape Chen Fangli's Buddha Palm.
When Grandpa Chen and Grandma Chen returned from the fields, they saw Chu De'an clinging to Shen Xuewei's arm, crying loudly.
She cried while complaining.
"Sis, waaaaah... My mom hit me, you have to help me hit her back, otherwise I'll never play with you again."
Shen Xuewei sighed, thinking to herself:
That kid deserved it!
However, she smiled gently, diverted his attention with a few words, and put a lollipop in his mouth. The crying gradually stopped.
When it was time to eat, Chu De'an had already forgotten his earlier words about breaking off his friendship with Chen Fangli, and it was once again a heartwarming scene of motherly love and filial piety.
Chen Fangli stayed at the Chen family home for two days with Chu De'an. Only after watching Chen's maternal grandfather and Shen Xuewei get into the van to go to town did she lead Chu De'an back home.
Shen Xuewei is starting school, and Chu De'an will also be going to school tomorrow.
As the children grew up, she felt a sense of relief, but also a sense of emptiness in her heart.
After Shen Xuewei and Grandpa Chen returned to the school and laid out their belongings, Grandpa Chen only gave them one piece of advice:
"Pay attention in class and don't leave the school without permission."
In his presence, unless there were special circumstances, Shen Xuewei always behaved very obediently.
She nodded and said, "I understand, Grandpa. I will behave well and won't run around."
Grandpa Chen glanced at her again.
His granddaughter is clever and mischievous; she seems well-behaved, but she's actually quite rebellious inside.
Since Shen Xuewei hadn't shown her mischievous side for a long time, Grandpa Chen trusted her completely and left the school with peace of mind, getting on a tricycle and leaving.
Once she was sure he had left, Shen Xuewei jumped out of bed and ran out of the school at top speed.
She first went to the post office to ask if they had any packages for her, and after receiving a negative answer, she went to an internet cafe.
She had been seriously ill, and after the New Year, it had been more than a month since she had contacted the editor.
I submitted a novel a while ago, but I haven't asked when I'll receive the royalties yet.
After paying the money, she quickly turned on her computer and logged into QQ, which she hadn't used in a long time.
She didn't have many QQ friends, and as soon as she logged in, she found that both of her previous editors had sent her messages.
She quickly clicked to look.
The message Yun Duo sent her was just a New Year's greeting.
She opened the message, glanced at it, replied with a couple of sentences, and then quickly opened the message that Tangtang had sent her.
Editor Tangtang sent her a lot of messages, and she read them all from beginning to end. After reading them all, she quickly replied to the messages.
"I'm so sorry, Tangtang. I was sick for a while and didn't log on to QQ to check messages. I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."
"Happy New Year to you too, it's just after the New Year."
"As for the new book, I haven't had time to write it yet. I'll send it to you when I want it in a while... As for the royalties from the previous book, just send them to the address I gave you before. Thank you..."
The message was sent, but Tangtang did not reply.
Shen Xuewei stayed online for an hour, but after replying to the message, Tangtang did not reply.
Shen Xuewei guessed that she probably hadn't logged into QQ either.
Seeing this, she left a message and logged out of QQ before the next person needed to use the computer.
School life, in general, hasn't changed much, but several of the girls in my class have changed noticeably after I haven't seen them for the winter break.
The older girls in the class are reaching the point where their bodies are clearly developing.
My breasts started developing, and I started menstruating.
The girls were both shy and sensitive about this change.
Girls with noticeably developed breasts often hunch over and try to hide themselves when they notice their classmates staring at them.
Some of the mischievous boys in the class would also tease these girls.
“Look at her, that’s so big. My mom says only those disreputable, unclean girls would grow up like that.”
"Exactly. Hey, look! She must be feeling guilty, otherwise why would she shrink away like that?"
"Come on, let's go tease her. I'll be happy if I see her cry..."
Hearing their discussion, the girl felt both ashamed and angry. She shrank her neck, buried her head, and tears streamed down her face.
Shen Xuewei came out of the office with a stack of homework in her hand. When she saw this scene, she slowly narrowed her eyes.
What she hates most are these kinds of bad kids who love to spread rumors.
She carried the stack of homework books and deliberately walked past them.
The group stopped talking, exchanged glances, and the dark-skinned, thinner one sized up Shen Xuewei and said sneer:
"Isn't this one of our class's top students? He usually sees us, so why is he deliberately walking this way today? Isn't he afraid that passing by us will affect his grades?"
Shen Xuewei didn't speak, but smiled, a smile that subtly carried a hint of disdain and provocation.
One of the more impatient ones couldn't stand the look in his eyes, and a hint of malice flashed across his gaze.
Taking advantage of the moment when Shen Xuewei lifted her foot, he deliberately tripped her.
Shen Xuewei was waiting for him. She pretended to trip, spilling the stack of homework in her hand and falling forward, knocking the table in front of her to one side.
The students in the class who heard the commotion looked over.
Ye Meiling rushed over first, angrily shouting, "Wu Jinming, why did you deliberately trip Weiwei?"
Wu Jinming grinned mischievously, spreading his hands, "Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."
The people around him also laughed.
Ye Meiling was furious and pulled at her sleeves, ready to step forward and argue.
Zhong Shiqi helped Shen Xuewei tidy up her scattered homework books. Wu Yuhong came to Shen Xuewei's side, bent down and glanced at her.
Shen Xuewei's face turned red, but she couldn't shed a tear. She just gave Wu Yuhong a look.
Wu Yuhong moved closer and, in a secluded corner, pinched Shen Xuewei's arm.
The blow was quite heavy, and Shen Xuewei's eyes reddened, with two streams of tears flowing down her cheeks.
Seeing this, Wu Yuhong pointed at the group and shouted, "You're all finished! You must have tripped Weiwei and hurt her; she's crying!"
Shen Xuewei slowly raised her head, and sure enough, there were two tears in her eyes.
Without saying a word or wiping away her tears, she went to the office to complain, tears still streaming down her face.
