Chapter 101 Everything Understood

Chapter 101 Everything Understood

The next morning, Zhao Fang'er went out early to discuss business.

It wasn't until after eight o'clock that Chen Fangyang finally got up, his hair still a mess.

After brushing my teeth and having some breakfast, it was already past nine o'clock.

Zhao Xiannan sat on the sofa reading a book, glancing occasionally at Chen Fangyang sitting at the dining table.

While eating, Chen Fangyang said to him, "Xiannan, pack a few clothes, and I'll take you home to play for a while. Before school starts, you can play however you want."

Zhao Xiannan glanced at him and adjusted the bag beside him. "Uncle Yang, my mom told me this morning that I'm all ready and just waiting for you."

Chen Fangyang chuckled and said, "Then wait a little longer, I'll finish eating quickly."

He quickened his eating pace, swallowing the remaining food on the table in a flash.

After eating until she was about 80% full, she stopped, rushed back to her room to pick up her packed belongings, and then called Zhao Xiannan to go out together.

Before closing the door, she shouted, "Aunt Liu, remember to tidy up the table. We won't be home for the next few days, so please take good care of the house."

Zhao Fang'er and Chen Fangyang live in a large single-level apartment, where the three of them live.

Zhao Fang'er was busy with her career, Chen Fangyang was lazy, and Zhao Xiannan was tired from studying, so they hired a live-in housekeeper, Aunt Liu, to take care of things like cleaning and cooking.

"Okay, I understand," Aunt Liu replied loudly as she came out of the room.

The two arrived at the garage and drove the car out.

Zhao Xiannan sat in the passenger seat, his eyes shining as he looked at the steering wheel in Chen Fangyang's hands.

"Uncle Yang."

Chen Fangyang knew what he wanted to do after just one glance.

"Not now, there are too many cars on the road. I'll let you try driving when we get to a section of road with fewer cars."

When Zhao Xiannan heard that it was not possible, a look of disappointment appeared in his eyes, but after hearing the second half of Chen Fangyang's words, he immediately became happy again.

"Thank you, Uncle Yang."

Chen Fangyang turned on the car's music, and listening to the melodious and energetic song, he casually remarked:

"No need to thank me, there's nothing to thank me for. But don't tell your mother later, or she'll be furious with me."

Zhao Xiannan laughed and said, "Uncle Yang, don't worry, I won't tell my mom. It's just that my mom is worrying too much. I've already learned how to drive, but she insists I'm too young and doesn't want me to..."

"Isn't it because I'm worried about you? You are indeed a bit young now. In a few years, when you get your driver's license and car, your mom already paid for one for me, so why wouldn't she buy one for you?"

The two chatted and laughed, and time passed quickly. They arrived at a gas station in Luli County and filled up with gas. After passing through sections of road with crowds, traffic lights, and traffic police, they switched places, with Zhao Xiannan driving.

Chen Fangyang said he was not worried, but his body was stiff as he sat up straight in his seat, staring intently ahead.

Zhao Xiannan drove a little faster, and he quickly shouted, "No rush, no rush, slow down, slow down even more..."

He's finally enjoying a good life, and he doesn't want to die on the road.

Fortunately, his fears did not come true.

Although Zhao Xiannan was young, he drove very steadily. He drove all the way to Xiaoli Village without any of the things Chen Fangyang was worried about happening.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Chen Fangyang practically jumped out of it.

Zhao Xiannan got out of the car, closed the door, and saw the look of relief on Chen Fangyang's face, remaining silent for a moment.

Chen Fangyang took the car keys, noticed Zhao Xiannan's expression, and explained stiffly:

"I'm like this because I've been sitting in the car for too long... We're home now, let's not talk about this anymore. We're home now, let's go home quickly. It's sunny, don't stand here in the sun."

The two walked together toward the Chen family's house.

The yellow dog guarding the house stood on the threshing ground and barked at the two men twice. Suddenly realizing that the two men were familiar with each other, it stopped barking.

As the two approached, it wagged its tail and greeted them enthusiastically.

"Hey, Big Yellow!"

Chen Fangyang only called out once, and dodged away from Da Huang's enthusiasm by twisting his body left and right.

Faced with Da Huang's enthusiasm, Zhao Xiannan couldn't help but pet Da Huang a few times.

After he finished touching it, Chen Fangyang opened the door and came out carrying a stool before kindly telling him.

"Xiannan, Dahuang may have just eaten feces."

Zhao Xiannan's smile froze, and he instantly withdrew his hand.

Looking at the hand in front of him, he both looked disgusted and wrinkled his face.

Chen Fangyang sighed, pulled him to the water tank, squeezed some dish soap onto him, and then used a ladle to rinse his hands with water.

After washing his hands, Zhao Xiannan refused to get close to Da Huang despite its enthusiasm.

After lunch, the Chen family members had all gone to the fields.

The two waited at home for several hours before Shen Xuewei finally returned from the fields, carrying a basket on her back.

When she got home and saw the two of them, she greeted them weakly: "Second Uncle, Brother Xiannan."

Chen Fangyang stretched out his arm, pulled her close, and tucked her under his arm, making a fierce expression as he demanded:

"Come on, tell me, what did you mean by the phone call you made to me yesterday? What did you say to your grandfather?"

Shen Xuewei offered no resistance, letting him hold her, and said in a half-dead state:

"Second Uncle, I just came back from the fields. Let me rest for a while before I talk to you."

Chen Fangyang frowned and casually touched her forehead, his hand covered in sweat.

"Sigh, I already told your grandparents to plant less land. Look how tired you are..."

As he spoke, he pressed Shen Xuewei down onto the stool.

Shen Xuewei sat with her head down, panting heavily, for a while before she finally had the strength to speak.

Seeing that she was covered in sweat, Zhao Xiannan took out a pack of tissues from his pocket and handed her one.

Shen Xuewei casually accepted the gift and thanked him, saying, "Thank you, Brother Xiannan."

Zhao Xiannan smiled politely, "You're welcome. Please wipe your sweat first."

Shen Xuewei wiped the sweat from her forehead and finally answered Chen Fangyang's earlier question.

“Someone came to my grandfather to borrow money yesterday, and he almost lent it out.”

Upon hearing the keywords "borrow money," Chen Fangyang's lips immediately twitched downwards. He pulled up another chair, sat down, and asked:

"What's that person's name?"

Shen Xuewei replied, "Chen Xiangheng."

Seeing Chen Fangyang deep in thought, she added, "You don't need to think about it anymore. I heard this person hasn't contacted Grandpa for twenty years, so you probably don't recognize him. However..."

She paused for a moment, then said, "However, you will remember this person very well later."

The two looked over curiously. "Why?"

Shen Xuewei said slowly, "He said we were dead poor devils and wished our whole family would die sooner."

Chen Fangyang's face darkened, and he cursed, "What kind of person is this! Damn it, we haven't been in touch for ages, and the first thing we do is ask to borrow money. Do I owe him something?"

"Your grandfather did the right thing; he shouldn't have lent him the money! What kind of damn relative is he? Tell him to get lost!"

Shen Xuewei wouldn't keep it a secret for Grandpa Chen. "If I hadn't stopped him, Grandpa probably would have already lent out the money."

Chen Fangyang shut his mouth, wanting to take back the words he had just used to praise his grandfather.

Shen Xuewei continued, "In short, the money won't be lent out, but after my persuasion, the family is planning to build a house."

She glanced at Chen Fangyang. "That's why we had that phone call yesterday."

Chen Fangyang now understood everything.
