Chapter 223 Buying a Painting

Chapter 223 Buying a Painting

“This hotel is well booked!”

After coming out of the hotel lobby, Lin Ting couldn't help but praise.

Not only can you avoid the huge crowds, but you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of West Lake without even stepping out of the hotel. This hotel is really nice!

Zhou Qing nodded and said, "It would be even better if it could be cheaper!"

Lin Qiu smiled and continued, "We are sleeping in the West Lake, how can it be cheap? But I can enjoy the magnificent view of the West Lake without squeezing with other people, so it's not a waste of money."

“I think it’s worth it!”

Wang Shan walked in the Jiangnan garden-like hotel and felt that it was a perfect place for painting. Not only was the scenery beautiful, but the environment was also very quiet.

"It seems that everyone is very satisfied with this hotel. I feel relieved!" Lin Qiu distributed the room keys. "Everyone put your things away first, take a short rest and then we will go to eat."

Lin Ting and Zhou Qing took the keys to their respective rooms and went back to their rooms to tidy up.

Lin Qiuye opened the door. The layout of the hotel was somewhat like the guesthouse for old cadres in the early years, and the breath of history was overwhelming.

Open the window and look up. The inner lake in front of you is only separated from the West Lake outside by a bridge. The waterway connects them, and the lake view is excellent.

Lin Qiu quietly looked at this misty and poetic water town in the south of the Yangtze River, his thoughts cleared and his heart calmed down.

After Wang Xiuren packed his luggage, he stood quietly with her and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the lake and mountains together.

"Qiuqiu, are you guys ready? Do you want to walk around the hotel first?"

The couple came back to their senses when they heard Zhou Qing's voice outside the door.

"I'm coming!" Lin Qiu said as he opened the door.

There is Diaoyutai in the north and West Lake Kingdom in the south.

West Lake is blessed with unique advantages in the world, Liuzhuang occupies the most beautiful scenery of West Lake, and West Lake Kingdom is constructed by several large gardens such as Liuzhuang and Kangzhuang.

The family strolled through this Jiangnan garden, enjoying a different scene with every step.

As far as the eye can see, there are pavilions, towers, winding corridors, bamboos, ancient trees and strange rocks.

Leaning on the railing facing the wind, the mountains are dark green and the water is shimmering.

Stay in the State Guesthouse and eat in the Ziwei Hall.

Lin Qiu's family didn't know much about Hangzhou cuisine, so they could only order from the menu.

West Lake vinegar fish, drunken shrimp with bayberry, Matsutake rice with Hupao spring water, basil lotus chicken and Dongpo pork.

As soon as the matsutake rice was served, the rich aroma of matsutake could be smelled. Wang Xiuren helped everyone get a small bowl, and the taste was amazing at first bite.

"Delicious!" Wang Shan nodded repeatedly while eating, not leaving even a single grain of rice.

The lotus-flavored chicken and the famous Dongpo pork were just average, and everyone put down their chopsticks after a few bites.

However, the signature Hangzhou dish, West Lake Vinegar Fish, did not win the hearts of Lin Qiu's family. After all, they were used to spicy food, and it was difficult to adapt to sour and sweet food.

However, the drunken shrimp with bayberry caught the whole family’s attention.

A family who has lived in the coastal city of Pengcheng for more than ten years has eaten many drunken shrimps, but this is the first time they have seen the base of bayberry wine.

The shrimps were alive and the meat was chewy. The bayberry wine was very fragrant with a hint of sweetness. Except for Wang Shan who was young and not allowed to drink, the four adults drank up all the bayberry wine used as the base.

Overall, the meal was quite satisfying.

After lunch, they sent the old couple back to their room for a nap, and then Lin Qiu and his wife helped Wang Shan carry her painting supplies to satisfy her addiction to painting.

We didn’t go far, just to the lakeside near Building 2. After all, there is beauty and scenery everywhere here.

Wang Shan found an angle that satisfied her, observed carefully for a long time, then set up the easel and began to conceive.

If she were to paint, she would quickly become absorbed in it.

Wang Xiuren took Lin Qiu for a walk along the lake. There were few people here, and his daughter was seventeen years old now, so he didn't stare at her as closely as he did before.

After walking around and coming back, they found an old lady with silver hair standing next to Wang Shan. Lin Qiu took Wang Xiuren's hand and walked over quickly.

In fact, as soon as Wang Shan heard the old lady's accent, she knew she was from the south, but she was not sure whether she was from Hong Kong or Guangdong Province.

The old lady spoke to her, and she answered politely, telling her, "You can speak in plain language, I can understand you."

But the old lady was still stubborn and insisted on speaking Mandarin.

When Lin Qiu and Wang Xiuren approached, they heard the old lady stuttering in Mandarin. Wang Shan helped her to fill in the words that had been stuck for a long time from time to time.

They didn't interrupt and just stood aside quietly.

After listening for a few minutes, I learned that the old lady liked Wang Shan's paintings very much and asked Wang Shan if he could sell her a painting.

Wang Shan thought about it and told the old lady that she had not yet graduated.

The old lady said it didn’t matter, mainly because she liked the emotions expressed in the painting.

Wang Shan still refused her, "It's not finished yet."

The old lady was eager to persuade Wang Shan, so she finally gave up Mandarin and said in the vernacular: "It doesn't matter if the painting is not finished. I can wait. It doesn't matter how long I wait, as long as you are willing to sell it to me."

It was the first time that Wang Shan was chased by someone to buy a painting. Besides being excited, she was actually a little curious about why this old lady was so obsessed with her painting, so she casually asked why.

The old lady remained silent for a long time without answering, her eyes only looking in the direction of West Lake.

Wang Shan looked at the expression on the old lady's face and didn't ask any more questions. She calmed down and continued painting.

The old lady was also very persistent and stood beside Wang Shan motionlessly.

After Wang Shan finished painting, she looked at the old lady with red eyes beside her and said softly, "When the painting is dry, you can take it away!"

"How much?" The old lady opened the bag in her hand in a panic.

Wang Shan shook her head. "Don't charge me. I'm giving it to you."

The old lady took out a stack of money from her wallet and stuffed it into Wang Shan's hand. "How can that be? I only have this much cash on me. If it's not enough, I'll have someone bring it over this afternoon."

Wang Shan immediately turned away and said, "I won't give it to you if you pay me."

Hearing this, the old lady could only take her hand back and look at the watch on her hand, "Can I exchange this with you?"

"No! I told you it's for you."

"How can I feel so embarrassed? I got such a good painting from you for nothing." The old lady wanted to say something else, "How about..."

"If you don't want it, I'll take it away." Wang Shan didn't want to argue with the old lady and thought about painting another one.

The old lady had no choice but to give up. She put the money away, carefully held the painting and thanked Wang Shan again and again.

Then say goodbye politely.

The family of three just regarded it as a small episode in life.

After the old lady had gone far away, Wang Xiuren couldn't help but ask her with a smile: "Why don't you sell your paintings when people ask you to buy them? Didn't you say when you were little that you would sell your paintings to earn money for your parents when you grew up?"

"I haven't even finished my apprenticeship yet! Teacher Guo would definitely scold me if he knew." Wang Shan spread the drawing paper on the flower stand again.

"If you don't tell me and I don't tell you, how would Teacher Guo know?" Wang Xiuren continued to tease her.

Unexpectedly, Wang Shan said seriously: "If you don't want others to know, then don't do it yourself! Dad, you must remember this truth and don't do bad things secretly."

Lin Qiu couldn't help laughing when he heard what his daughter said.

"You little rascal!" Wang Xiuren pointed at Wang Shan in the air.
