Chapter 228 Something

Chapter 228 Something

Lin Qiu drove the car to Lin Hui's building and helped carry the luggage upstairs.

The children were fine. They had been to Pengcheng before and did not show any abnormality when they saw the tall buildings and the quiet and elegant residential environment.

But it was Zhou Mei’s first time back in Pengcheng, and she kept her mouth shut all the way, staring at the tall buildings flashing by outside the car window.

After entering the community, she was curious about everything, just like Granny Liu entering the Grand View Garden.

"Sister-in-law, let's go to my place for a meal first. Our family is here anyway, and you'll have plenty of time to visit this neighborhood in the future." Lin Qiu said with a smile. She thought of herself when she first came to the city, and she was probably the same as her.

"Yes, yes, let's go to Qiuqiu first. Daddy and Mommy are waiting!" Lin Hui touched her head. "After dinner, I'll take you to find your way around the community."

"Okay, let's go see my parents first. I'm a country bumpkin coming to the city, everything I see is strange!" Zhou Mei laughed, patting her thigh.

Lin Qiu drove the four children to his home and asked Lin Hui to walk with Zhou Qing and chat in private.

Once everyone arrived, the house instantly became lively.

The adults were chatting about family matters, and the younger ones were sitting together in groups of three or four, talking to each other.

At lunch time, the big round table was packed with people sitting side by side.

"Fortunately, we bought a big round table, otherwise there would be no place for everyone to sit." Zhou Qing smiled as he looked at the table full of his children and grandchildren.

As for an old lady, at her age, the happiest thing is to be surrounded by her children and grandchildren and enjoy the happiness of family.

"It's still a little small. If we want to add Pingping's family of three and Lizi and his wife, we'll have to set up another table." Lin Ting also responded with a happy look on his face.

Zhou Mei is a person who saves what she can and spends what she should. When she heard this, she immediately interrupted, "Then what should we do? The dining area is not as big as Qiuqiu's house. There is no room for two tables. How can we entertain guests when we move?"

Lin Hui waved her hand. "No hurry. I'm thinking of setting up two tables at a small restaurant outside the community. This will save a lot of trouble."

"That would be quite expensive, right?" Zhou Mei felt that she could save a lot of money by entertaining guests at home.

"Our house is too small to accommodate the guests. Besides my family, several of my co-workers will come over that day," Lin Hui explained.

"That's good too. This way the house won't be so messy and full of the smell of food." Lin Qiu continued, "When are you going to hold the housewarming party?"

"The day after tomorrow, I asked a Taoist priest to calculate the date. He said that day is a good day and suitable for moving." When Zhou Mei thought about being able to move to her new home right away, she quickly forgot about the discomfort of entertaining guests in a hotel.

"Sister-in-law, can you take a look at the house to see if there is anything we need to buy? If so, please buy it as soon as possible today or tomorrow."

"You guys are so thorough, how could there be any omissions?" Zhou Mei flattered everyone a little.

Then he said with a touching look on his face: "We can decorate our house so well, all thanks to your help. When we move on, I will definitely toast you a glass."

"Why are you being so polite? We are all family. You have come here after a long journey, so eat quickly and take a good rest after eating." After Lin Ting finished speaking, he added more dishes to the children one by one.

Everyone stopped being polite and focused on eating.

Lin Hui's housewarming party was rather simple, with just her family and four co-workers, which added up to just two tables.

It was a small restaurant outside the community. The food was large, delicious and affordable. After paying the bill, Zhou Mei secretly gave Lin Hui a thumbs up, thinking that this was a reliable job.

Lin Hui smiled even more happily when she saw her wife’s like.

After moving, Zhou Mei lived in her own home with her four children, with the couple in one room, the two brothers in one room, and the two sisters in another. Whenever she had nothing to do, she would bring the children over to talk to the old couple.

After all, she had just moved in and was not very familiar with the community, let alone making friends.

The old couple were also knowledgeable and took her for a stroll around the neighborhood.

There was a lot of joy in the interaction.

That morning, Zhou Qing and Zhou Mei sat in the pavilion in the community and watched Lin Ting and several children from his family playing with exercise equipment.

Seeing her tall and beautiful granddaughter, she couldn't help but whisper to her daughter-in-law, "Huanhuan, didn't you find a date in college?"

"I haven't heard her mention it. But I don't think she has any thoughts in this regard now. Before she came here, someone came up to her and said they wanted to introduce her to someone, but she just turned her face away and left." Zhou Mei glanced at her daughter before answering in a low voice.

Girls nowadays are completely different from their generation. Many of them are still unmarried in their twenties, and those who can earn money on their own are not in any hurry. Especially for those like Lin Huan who go to college, they graduate at the age of 22 or 23, then work for another two years, and usually get married at the age of 25 or 26.

Zhou Qing nodded, "You should study hard while you are in school, but you should also pay more attention to this aspect in your daily life. Our Huanhuan is a girl, and she can't suffer any loss in this regard."

"Mom, you are right. I will try to find out more about it when I have nothing to do." Zhou Mei nodded heavily.

"Let's go, the sun is getting brighter, let's go back." Zhou Qing looked up at the sky and waved his hand to ask everyone to go back.

The group walked back along the shade of the trees and reached the intersection, ready to go their separate ways.

"Mom, I'm going to take my grandparents back!" Lin Cong didn't wait for Zhou Mei's consent, and ran to the old couple, pretending to support Zhou Qing's arm.

Zhou Mei frowned, wondering what this kid was planning.

Even though his parents-in-law are outside, we cannot force him to come back, after all, the child is being given the name of sending off the elders.

I can only remind him: "Send the person upstairs and come back early!"

"Okay!" Lin Cong answered loudly.

The old couple were all smiles. It was always a pleasure to have their grandson willing to get close to them.

As soon as he entered the house, Lin Cong looked around, "Grandpa, where is my aunt?"

"She went to the Internet cafe and won't be back until noon." Lin Ting picked up the remote control and turned on the TV. "What's going on? Is there something you need from your aunt?"

"No, no." Lin Cong shook his head, his eyes somewhat evasive, "I'm just asking, haha."

Lin Ting looked at him carefully and didn't ask any more questions.

Don't ask too many questions to children of this age. Their patience is limited and it won't be long before they will show their opinions on their own.

Lin Cong didn't mention going back, so the old couple naturally didn't urge him.

Zhou Qing cut a plate of watermelon and put it on the coffee table. "Congcong, come and eat watermelon."

Lin Cong sat over and took the food for his grandparents first. Then he held a piece of watermelon and ate it absentmindedly, his eyes occasionally glancing at the wall clock.

There was the sound of a key opening the door, and Lin Cong jumped up from the sofa.

"Aunt, you're back!"

As soon as Lin Qiu opened the door, he heard Lin Cong's greeting. While changing his shoes, he responded with a smile: "Cong Cong is here!"

"Aunt, eat watermelon."

After Lin Qiu sat down, Lin Cong quickly put a piece of watermelon in front of her.

Lin Qiu raised her eyebrows. He was being too attentive for no reason. She wanted to see what he was up to.

She took the watermelon and ate it slowly.

Lin Cong stayed beside him, moving from time to time as if there were thorns on the sofa.

"Tell me what's the matter." After eating, Lin Qiu wiped his hands with a tissue, his eyes fixed on Lin Cong.
