Cheng Haoyu was unconscious for a whole day and night, and Zheng Xinyi was almost always by his side taking care of him. Huang Lei was very worried when he saw Cheng Haoyu still unconscious. "Xinyi, is the battalion commander really okay? It's been a whole day and a whole night, why hasn't he woken up yet?"
Zheng Xinyi said confidently: "Although he was seriously injured, his life is not in danger."
Huang Lei nodded slightly, then turned and left the room. Zheng Xinyi sat beside him, gently holding his hand, her eyes full of heartache and helplessness.
Cheng Haoyu slowly opened his eyes in a daze. At first, he thought he was hallucinating. He shook his head gently, and a sharp pain made him grimace. However, this made him completely awake. He saw Zheng Xinyi's face clearly and held her hand. He was indescribably excited and called out weakly, "Xinyi."
Hearing the shouting, Zheng Xinyi was stunned and looked over, her eyes full of tenderness: "You're awake, how do you feel? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
"With your hospital here, why should I feel uncomfortable?" said Cheng Haoyu.
Zheng Xinyi looked at him shyly, "Although I'm a doctor, I'm not the patient after all. You have too many wounds on your body. If you feel uncomfortable anywhere, you must tell me immediately."
Cheng Haoyu's lips had begun to turn pale, and he tried hard to raise a smile: "I'm not feeling unwell, I just feel a little thirsty and want to drink a glass of water."
"Okay, wait for me." Zheng Xinyi went to the lobby to pour him a glass of water. Just as she turned around with the glass in her hand and was about to go into the house, she realized that she was too happy. So she turned around and said to the person sitting in the lobby, "Cheng Haoyu is awake."
This news made everyone very happy, especially Huang Lei, who rushed in immediately: "Battalion Commander, you are finally awake."
Zheng Xinyi came into the room carrying a cup of water and said to Huang Lei, "Help me lift his head up a little bit."
Huang Lei carefully lifted his head slightly, and Zheng Xinyi handed the full cup of water to his lips. Cheng Haoyu drank it up in big gulps, and the cup of water was soon empty.
"Do you want to drink more?" Zheng Xinyi asked.
"No, Huang Lei, help me, I want to sit up." Cheng Haoyu was wrapped in bandages all over his body, and it was really inconvenient for him to move, so he asked Huang Lei for help.
Zheng Xinyi carefully placed the quilt behind him as a chair for him. He knew that Uncle Huang and the others still had a lot of questions waiting for him to answer. After getting comfortable, he said to Huang Lei, "Call everyone in!"
Soon the room was full of people, and everyone's eyes turned to Cheng Haoyu. Liu Yun asked anxiously, "What's going on? Tell us quickly."
Huang San gently pushed her: "The child is injured, why are you so anxious?"
Cheng Haoyu told everyone everything about his sworn brotherhood with Brother Mao. Everyone was stunned and looked at Cheng Haoyu with admiration. Huang San gave him a thumbs up: "You are worthy of being a soldier. You have backbone."
Huang Lei said proudly, "Of course. Our battalion commander is well-known as an excellent soldier in the army."
Cheng Haoyu rolled his eyes helplessly, then said to Zheng Xinyi: "Brother Mao promised me that he would let Zhou Shui go. We can take him away anytime, anywhere."
