Zhou Shui had been struggling for several hours, and now he was finally calm. Everyone was tired and sweating, and now they could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Huang San drank the water in the cup and looked at Zhou Shui lying on the ground: "It's not a good idea to let him sleep on the ground! Let's carry him to the bed first!"
As soon as the voice fell, Huang Lei, Cheng Haoyu and Brother Mao carried Zhou Shui to the bed. Brother Mao reached out and wiped the sweat from his forehead: "It's finally over."
Xiao Mao had been leaning against the window outside the door to eavesdrop on what was going on inside. At first, it was still noisy, but now everything was quiet. He muttered to himself uncertainly, "Could it be that he really succeeded in quitting drugs?"
He took a quick look inside, saw nothing, and then turned around and left.
"Zhou Shui's condition is still not good. Let's have a simple meal later, and then do as we said before. Huang Lei and I will guard the first half of the night, and Uncle Huang and Brother Mao will guard the second half." Cheng Haoyu said.
Everyone nodded slightly and then took their own actions.
"She's calm now. Can we untie the ropes on her?" Zheng Xinyi suggested.
Cheng Haoyu shook his head slightly: "Not yet. His drug addiction is too serious. Let's wait a while."
"I think if it really doesn't work, we should just give up! It's been several days, and I see his drug addiction is getting worse and worse." Liu Yun suggested a little nervously.
Huang San rolled his eyes at her and said, "What are you talking about? You've already persisted for so many days. You have to check it again. Maybe you're just one step away from success."
Liu Yun sighed softly and said no more. The Chinese New Year was approaching and the neighbors had already started preparing for the New Year, but the Huang family was still in a mess. Liu Yun had to admit that she was a little overwhelmed.
After dinner, Cheng Haoyu and Huang Lei saw that Zhou Shui was sleeping soundly. They looked at each other, nodded slightly, and then untied the ropes on him. Zhou Shui opened his eyes weakly, his brows slightly furrowed, and his tongue felt numb. He was about to open his mouth to speak, but found that his tongue hurt so much that his brows furrowed even more.
"Zhou Shui, your tongue is injured, don't speak for now." Huang Lei warned.
"I still have some unused painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs. I'll go get them." As soon as she finished speaking, Zheng Xinyi went out to get them, and when she came back, she was holding the medicine in her hand.
Fearing that Zhou Shui might attack Zheng Xinyi, Huang Lei took the medicine bag and personally applied the medicine to him. He then checked the wound and said, "It's not a serious injury. He will recover in a few days."
Maybe he was too tired, or perhaps because he had been working too much, which made him a little exhausted. After taking the medicine, Zhou Shui closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Cheng Haoyu and Huang Lei did not dare to relax their vigilance for a moment and took turns to guard Zhou Shui. In the second half of the night, when Huang San and Mao Ge came to take over the shift, Zhou Shui was still sleeping soundly.
Before leaving, Cheng Haoyu warned Brother Cat with some concern: "You slept very soundly in the first half of the night, so I'm afraid there will be some movement in the second half."
"Don't worry, I will look after him." Brother Cat looked relieved.
To everyone's surprise, Zhou Shui's drug addiction did not kick in that night. He slept very soundly that night without any signs of illness.
In the morning, Li Yi and Liu Yun came over for breakfast. Zhou Shui was still asleep. Liu Yun glanced at Zhou Shui and asked, "Is he okay?"
Zheng Xinyi brought the boiled medicine over, Cheng Haoyu reached out and patted him gently on the shoulder, and Zhou Shui slowly opened his eyes. It had probably been too long since he had such a comfortable sleep, and now he felt refreshed.
