On the first day of the Lunar New Year, the villagers began to visit their neighbors to wish them a happy new year with smiles on their faces.
"Uncle, aunt, Happy New Year!" Before Zheng Shaochun and Cuihua had time to go out, the three children of the Cheng family came to wish them a happy new year with gifts.
"Haoyu, are you three here so early?" Cuihua asked with a smile.
"My parents urged me to come and wish my uncle and aunt a happy new year early in the morning, and also asked me to bring Xinyi home to sit for a while." Cheng Haoyu said happily.
"Xinyi, take these eggs and go home with Haoyu to wish your future parents-in-law a happy new year." Cuihua packed the eggs that had been prepared long ago and handed them to Zheng Xinyi.
"Mom, you and Dad usually don't want to eat these eggs, so you should keep them! Haoyu and I will go to the grocery store to buy something." Zheng Xinyi declined.
"Just take it when I tell you to. Your mother and I don't need it. Why bother spending unnecessary money?" Zheng Shaochun said from the side.
Cuihua nodded to her with tears in her eyes and forced the egg into her hand: "Go!"
"Then uncle and aunt, we'll leave first." Cheng Haoyu greeted politely.
With Cuihua watching them go, Zheng Xinyi took the eggs and left with Cheng Haoyu. When they were out of the courtyard, Cheng Haoyu took the eggs from her hand with a distressed look on his face: "I'll take it."
"Xinyue, Brother Xinwei, Haoyang and I are going to visit every household to wish them a happy new year. Do you want to join us?" Cheng Haoting suggested.
"Great! It's more lively when more people walk together." Zheng Xinyue responded without hesitation.
"Okay, let's go!" Cheng Haoting winked at her while speaking.
In the Zheng family's lobby, only Zheng Shaochun and Cuihua, the elderly couple, were left sitting quietly on wooden benches. Zheng Shaochun continued to suck on his pipe, which he always held in his hand. Cuihua frowned slightly and sighed softly, "Old man, do you think the Cheng family will make things difficult for our Xinyi?"

After he finished speaking, Zhang Fengrong stopped talking. He raised his eyes and saw Cheng Haoyu and Zheng Xinyi happily entering the courtyard.
"Dad, Mom, Xinyi is here." Cheng Haoyu called.
"Uncle, aunt, Happy New Year." Zheng Xinyi greeted them politely and carefully placed the egg in her hand on the table.
"Xinyi, you're almost family now, there's no need to be so restrained." Cheng Haoyu responded happily, then winked at Zhang Fengrong.
Zhang Fengrong glanced at her belly reluctantly and forced a smile: "Xinyi, sit down!"
