Early in the morning, when Zhang Fengrong pushed the door open yawning, he vaguely heard a sound in the kitchen. All his sleepiness disappeared immediately. He walked over quietly and was stunned. Zheng Xinyi was preparing breakfast in a very virtuous manner.
"Ouch! Put it down quickly." Seeing her trying to pick up the dirty bucket on the ground, Zhang Fengrong quickly trotted over and snatched the dirty bucket from her hands.
"Mom, are you awake?" Zheng Xinyi greeted politely.
"I say, what's wrong with you, kid? You don't know how to take care of yourself at all. Don't make breakfast in the future. I'll do it. You should go and have a rest!" Zhang Fengrong said with a hint of blame, but more of worry in his tone.
Zheng Xinyi knew what she meant. She crossed her fingers in front of her chest and felt that she should make things clear and not let her mother-in-law continue to misunderstand her.
"Why are you still standing here? Go to the lobby and rest. I'll take care of this." Zhang Fengrong urged.
"Mom, actually I..."
"Xinyi, if you have anything to say, let's talk about it while we eat. I'm busy here!" Zhang Fengrong was busy preparing breakfast while urging her to leave quickly. She was afraid that the kitchen fumes would choke her grandson.
Zheng Xinyi had no choice but to turn around and leave, and she had to find another suitable opportunity to explain the fake pregnancy.
"Sister-in-law, come and help me. I can't zip up my pants." Cheng Haoting, who was in a daze, pushed the door open a crack and called out.
"Okay." As she spoke, Zheng Xinyi had already stood up and entered Cheng Haoting's room.
Seeing this, Zhang Fengrong put down the work in his hands, glanced at the empty lobby, quietly walked to the door of Cheng Haoyu's bridal chamber, and knocked on the door.
"Come in." Cheng Haoyu had already put on his clothes and was about to fold the quilt.
Zhang Fengrong pushed the door open, glanced at his son, and asked cautiously, "Is Xinyi's stomach okay?"
Cheng Haoyu nodded slightly: "Okay! Very good."
Hearing his answer, Zhang Fengrong's heart finally settled down. He then pushed Cheng Haoyu aside and said, "Go wash your face. I'll fold the quilt."
Cheng Haoyu didn't think much of it at the time. He handed the half-folded quilt to Zhang Fengrong. Just as he walked out of the door, he heard Zhang Fengrong's crazy roar and stopped immediately: "Mom, what's wrong with you?"
Zhang Fengrong remained silent, staring at the lifted quilt with wide eyes. Cheng Haoyu knew something was wrong, so he rushed over and followed her gaze. What caught his eye was the pool of blood on the mattress. Cheng Haoyu was stunned.
"What's going on?" Zhang Fengrong asked with a gloomy face.
"Mom, please listen to my explanation." Cheng Haoyu wanted to tell her everything in detail. In fact, he didn't intend to hide it from her for long.
Zhang Fengrong didn't want to listen to his explanation and went straight to knock on Cheng Haoting's door.
"Mom, why are you looking so stern so early in the morning?" Cheng Haoting asked in confusion.
"Xinyi, come out here, I have something to ask you." Zhang Fengrong said seriously.
Based on Cheng Haoting's many years of understanding of her mother, she knew that something big must be happening. She quietly turned her gaze to Cheng Haoyu. Cheng Haoyu responded to her with a look, and she immediately understood everything.
Zhang Fengrong sat in the lobby with a gloomy face. Zheng Xinyi stood in front of her like a child who had made a mistake, not daring to even breathe.
"Xinyi, what happened so early in the morning?" Cheng Dayu and Cheng Haoyang pushed the door open at the same time, their curious eyes falling on the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
