Chapter 23 Getting More and More Troublesome

"Mom." Zheng Shaoyun walked out from the inner room and called cautiously.

"You still have the nerve to call me mom? You've disgraced me." This was the first time Zheng Shaoyun met Li Fen after he was divorced. At the beginning, it was Li Fen who hired a matchmaker to arrange the marriage. She thought that her little daughter would marry into a wealthy family and live a good life. She would often brag to others about her little daughter's good fortune. But not long after, she got the news that she was divorced. Li Fen felt like a bolt from the blue at that time. She fell ill and was bedridden for several days.

"Mom, you only know how to scold me. You don't care at all about the suffering and anger I endured in his family." Zheng Xinyue frowned, looking aggrieved.

"Mom, Shaoyun has been spoiled by you since she was a child. You never let her do anything since she was little, which is why she has developed her current lazy and gluttonous habits." Zheng Shaochun sat on the wooden bench, took the pipe off his mouth, and expressed his thoughts, because this was the truth.

Cuihua nudged him with her elbow, signaling him to stop talking.

Yingzi raised a smile at the corner of her mouth. Having served the old lady for so long, she knew Li Fen's temper best. What Li Fen could not accept the most was being scolded by others. She liked everything to go her way.

"What are you talking about? Are you saying that it's my fault that your sister is like this now?" Li Fen shouted at the top of her voice.

"I didn't say that." Zheng Shaochun responded unconvinced.

"What do you mean? Now that your father is gone, leaving me an old lady, you can bully me as you please?" Li Fen raised her voice.

Cuihua quickly stepped forward to persuade her: "Mom, calm down. Shaochun didn't mean that."

"Brother has been in the countryside for too long, so it's inevitable that he speaks without thinking and is outspoken. Mom, don't be angry." Yingzi's words seemed to be persuading Li Fen, but in fact, even a fool could understand that she was mocking Adam Cheng.

Cuihua rolled her eyes at her, then looked at Li Fen, whose face was red and neck was thick with anger, and had no choice but to swallow her anger and pretend to be deaf and dumb.

"Look at what Second Aunt said. If Grandma hadn't provided you with a house to live in, wouldn't Second Uncle's family have to live in the countryside?" Zheng Xinyi, who was standing aside, spoke up, which made Cuihua feel a little less angry.

Yingzi cast a sullen look at her, gazing sharply at her. She reached out and shook Li Fen's arm: "Mom, look at what your granddaughter is saying."

But Yingzi didn't know that Zheng Xinyi's words hit the nail on the head for Li Fen: "I think what she said is pretty good."

Yingzi frowned and looked at Cuihua's smug expression, feeling even more unhappy. She turned her gaze to Zheng Shaodong.

Zheng Shaodong touched his nose and changed the subject: "Brother, Shaonan wrote a few days ago saying that Xinxin is sick, so Xinyi may not be able to make it back for the wedding. He asked me to tell you not to make a fuss."

Zheng Shaochun took a puff of his pipe and said, "Don't be picky. After all, Lao San's family is far away."

Zheng Shaochun was worried about where to live, and now that the third brother is not coming, it can be considered as a relief for him.

"Grandma, second uncle, second aunt." Zheng Xinyue walked into the house happily with her schoolbag on her back.

Cuihua glanced at her and said, "Girl, what are you so happy about?"

"Starting tomorrow, we will have winter vacation." Zheng Xinyue couldn't close her mouth with a smile.

"Xinyue, how much homework do you have for the winter vacation?" Zheng Xinyi discouraged her.

Zheng Xinyue rolled her eyes at her, frowned, and pulled her arm: "Sister, I find you boring?"
