Wang Ye knew that he was not so lucky. Bai Cuiping and the child had just fallen asleep when someone knocked on the ward door. The moment he pushed open the door, Wang Zhi came into his sight.
"Sergeant, the army leader asked you to come over." Wang Zhi said seriously.
Wang Ye nodded slightly: "Okay, I understand."
After Wang Zhi left, he glanced at Bai Cuiping and the child who were sleeping soundly on the bed, and said to Zhao Yuenan who happened to be passing by with a serious expression: "I have to go out for something. Please help me take care of Cuiping and the child."
"Okay, no problem." Zhao Yuenan responded readily.
Standing in the military leader's office, Wang Ye took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
"Come in." The army leader's voice was magnetic.
"Leader, you are looking for me." Wang Ye stood straight in front of him.
"I just received a call from my superiors, saying you did a great job on this mission. Those people who were illegally trafficking drugs have been arrested." The military leader praised him. Knowing that he was not being punished, Wang Ye breathed a sigh of relief. The military leader then continued, "Bai Cuiping has just given birth. The army has decided to grant you two months of leave. Take your wife and child home to visit your parents and spend more time with Cuiping and the child."
This news was great news for Wang Ye, and his face was full of joy.
"What? You don't want to?" Seeing that he didn't respond for a long time, the military leader asked.
"No, no, I do. I do. Thank you, leader." Wang Ye said excitedly.
The army leader raised his lips slightly: "Okay, get busy!"
After walking out of the room, Wang Ye clenched his fists and made a "yeah" gesture, then hurried home to wash, change clothes, and walked out of the military gate in casual clothes.
After Bai Cuiping woke up, she looked around and asked in a panic, "Where's Wang Ye?"
"He woke up and said he would be out for a while. When he comes back, he will pick you and the child up from the hospital." Zhao Yuenan responded with a smile.
It was already dark, and everyone had gathered to prepare the wine and food, but Wang Ye was still nowhere to be seen.
Bai Cuiping was a little anxious: "Where on earth did Wang Ye go? He never goes out without saying hello."
"Don't worry, Cuiping, Huang Lei and I will go out and look for her." Cheng Haoyu responded.
He handed the prepared food and wine to Zheng Xinyi, then nodded to Huang Lei, and the two began to ask around the army about Wang Ye's whereabouts.
"Captain Cheng, Squad Leader Wang went out when I was on guard duty at noon." A soldier heard him asking around for news about Wang Ye, so he stepped forward to report the news.

"Yes! And he left in casual clothes." The soldier responded.
"Has Wang Ye never come back since he left?" Cheng Haoyu asked.
"I was on duty at the gate this afternoon and didn't see Squad Leader Wang return to the troops. Captain Cheng, did something happen?" another soldier responded.
"It's okay." Cheng Haoyu didn't want to bluff, so he responded calmly, but he was very worried in his heart.
After everyone left, Huang Lei reached out and patted him on the shoulder: "Don't worry, Captain! Nothing will happen. Didn't I tell you? Wang Ye left in casual clothes. Maybe he just went out to buy something."
Cheng Haoyu nodded slightly and said, "There's no point in overthinking it here. Let's go back to the hospital first!"
