Cheng Haoyu stood at the entrance of the military hospital with a serious expression, waiting for Zheng Xinyi to get off work. His mind was full of the conversation he had just had with Wang Yun, and the more he thought about it, the more confused he became.
"Captain Cheng, are you here to pick up Zheng Xinyi from get off work again?" Doctor Deng came over and greeted him, but Cheng Haoyu seemed to have heard nothing and did not respond. Doctor Deng sensed something was wrong and stepped forward, reaching out and patting him on the shoulder: "Captain Cheng."
Cheng Haoyu was obviously startled and raised his head suddenly: "Doctor Deng, what's wrong?"
"Captain Cheng, are you okay? You look so bad." Doctor Deng asked back.
Cheng Haoyu shook his head: "It's okay, I'm fine."
"Then I'll go in first," Doctor Deng replied with a smile. He turned around, glanced at him out of the corner of his eye, and walked into the military hospital gate with a heart full of curiosity. As soon as he arrived at the ward, he ran into Zheng Xinyi who was about to get off work. He called out, "Doctor Zheng, are you off work?"
"Yes!" Zheng Xinyi nodded with a smile.
"I just met Captain Cheng at the hospital gate. He seemed to be in a bad mood, with a gloomy face and absent-minded. Did something unpleasant happen during training? You will meet Captain Cheng later, so be mentally prepared in advance." Doctor Deng kindly reminded Zheng Xinyi so that she would not be caught off guard.
Zheng Xinyi was stunned for a moment, then her facial expression returned to normal and she smiled slightly: "I understand. Thank you, Dr. Deng."
As Zheng Xinyi walked out of the hospital gate, she saw Cheng Haoyu's figure. She paused for a moment, sighed softly, tried to calm herself down, and walked over with a smile: "Haoyu, I'm off work, let's go!"
"Xinyi." Cheng Haoyu called softly, looking as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.
"What's wrong?" Zheng Xinyi turned around and asked.
"Wang Yun came to me today and said some very strange things. She said that the real Zheng Xinyi had died a long time ago, and that you who are by my side now are another soul reborn into this body, and she is the real Zheng Xinyi. I was really scared. How can there be rebirth after death in this world? She must be lying." Cheng Haoyu said tentatively.
Zheng Xinyi was silent for a moment, knowing that she could no longer conceal the matter, and said solemnly: "What she said is true."
Cheng Haoyu's pupils dilated as he stared at Zheng Xinyi with wide eyes. He swallowed hard and said, "So you're actually dead, and another soul has taken over this body and been reborn?"
"Yes, actually my real identity is a medical student born in the 1990s, but before I was reborn, my name was Zheng Xinyi. I think it may be because we have the same name that my soul used this body to be reborn!" Zheng Xinyi said seriously.
Cheng Haoyu found it hard to accept this reality for a moment: "So you never knew any reclusive old doctor, and that space was also brought here after your rebirth? Have you been lying to me all this time?"
Zheng Xinyi frowned slightly, and said in a blaming tone: "Haoyu, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to deceive you."
"Why didn't you tell me the truth earlier?" Cheng Haoyu asked.
"Haoyu, you...can you please listen to my explanation?" Zheng Xinyi walked up to him and pulled his arm.
"Sorry, I need to calm down." Cheng Haoyu shook off her arm and turned away without looking back.
