Chapter 508: Too much persistence

Cheng Haoyu walked into the doctor's office tremblingly and saw Zheng Xinyi lying on the table in a daze. The whole room was filled with a sense of depression.

Cheng Haoyu swallowed and handed her a glass of water weakly: "You must be tired after such a long operation. Drink some water!"

"I'm sorry, I still couldn't save Wang Yun's left leg." Zheng Xinyi's tone was full of self-blame. No one could understand her mood at this moment. She would rather be lying in bed with someone else, anyone, as long as it wasn't Wang Yun, because she really didn't want to have anything to do with this Wang Yun, and didn't want to owe her anything. Unfortunately, fate played tricks on her.

"I know you tried your best." Cheng Haoyu responded with a hoarse voice.

"How is your injury?" Zheng Xinyi asked when she saw the white gauze wrapped around his forehead.

"It's just a minor skin injury, nothing serious." Cheng Haoyu responded expressionlessly.

Then there was silence in the room. After an unknown amount of time, Cheng Haoyu took Zheng Xinyi into his arms and said, "No matter what happens, we will face it together."

Zheng Xinyi wrapped her arms around his waist without saying a word. It turned out that they both had a common worry and fear, which was that they were afraid of losing each other because of this left leg.

Aning was taken to the military leader's office. The leader cast a sharp look at him: "I've long suspected that you were the one who poisoned and framed me. Is it worth it to risk your life for a woman?"

"Leader, have you ever really liked a girl?" Aning asked back.

The military leader responded with a serious face: "You think you like what you are doing? I tell you, this is stupid."

"You are not me, you don't understand me at all. Ever since I first saw Wang Yun, my heart has been pounding. I feel that this girl is the one I have been waiting for. I want to be with her, I want to protect her, and I can even do anything for her. No girl has ever made me feel this way." Aning tried hard to express her feelings to the military leader.

The army leader sneered: "It's a pity that you ended up causing her to lose her left leg forever. She will never be able to stand up again."

Aning was stunned, her eyes began to turn red, filled with self-blame and guilt.

"Take him away and hand him over to our superiors tomorrow morning. We will send someone to deal with him." The army leader gave the order in a tone.

"Leader, can I have one last request?" A weak voice pleaded as Aning was about to leave the door.

"You say." The military leader said slowly.

"Let me see Wang Yun for the last time." Aning's voice was trembling. He knew that he was in great danger this time and it was possible that he would never see Wang Yun again in this life. This was his last request before he died!

The army leader cast a sharp gaze at him and kindly advised: "Forget it. The person Wang Yun least wants to see right now is you. This is the consequence of your foolish behavior."

Aning closed her eyes lightly, full of despair and helplessness, and followed the soldiers away obediently.

The army leader sighed softly, shook his head slightly, and a trace of helplessness flashed in his eyes.

What did such deep love bring in the end? It shows that sometimes being too persistent is not a good thing, it harms others and yourself.
