"Doctor Zhao, just meet him with a normal heart." Zheng Xinyi responded softly.
Zhao Yuenan nodded slightly, but even so, she couldn't help feeling nervous.
This afternoon was an unspeakable torment for Huang Lei. He had never felt so nervous when Zhao Yuenan was pestering him before, but now he felt sweat all over.
"Doctor Huang, what's wrong with you?" Li Qing saw beads of sweat on his forehead and couldn't help asking.
"Don't you think it's very hot today?" Huang Lei asked, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
"Hot? I don't feel it?" Li Qing responded in a surprised tone.
"Really? But I feel so hot!" Huang Lei said as he floated by.
After finally getting off work, Huang Lei went home first to change his clothes and dress up carefully.
Zhao Yuenan tidied her hair and, escorted by Zheng Xinyi, came to the entrance of the military canteen.
"Yuenan, come on." Zheng Xinyi made a cheering gesture to her.
Zhao Yuenan nodded slightly, sighed softly, and turned to enter the army cafeteria.
The army cafeteria wasn't crowded at this time. Zhao Yuenan stood at the entrance, looking around but didn't see Huang Lei. His brows furrowed slightly, and he muttered to himself in a somewhat unhappy tone, "What's going on? He asked me to have dinner with him in the army cafeteria, and yet he showed up late. How insincere!"
She found a secluded place to sit down and waited quietly for Huang Lei's arrival. This short wait was also a torment for Zhao Yuenan. Her mind began to wander and she began to wonder if Huang Lei would stand her up?
It wasn't until Huang Lei himself sat down opposite her that her uneasy heart finally settled.
"I thought you weren't coming?" Zhao Yuenan said with a smile.
"What happened? Sorry, I was delayed by something urgent. Are you angry?" Huang Lei habitually reached out and touched the back of his head, and asked with a smile.
"No." Zhao Yuenan responded with a smile.
"Let's go! Let's go get some food?" As he spoke, Huang Lei took the initiative to help her get the lunch box, and the two of them went to line up side by side.
Huang Lei suddenly became so enthusiastic that Zhao Yuenan felt a little uncomfortable.
"Hey! Do you want to eat steamed buns or rice?" Huang Lei asked while stretching his neck to look.
"All is fine." Zhao Yuenan responded softly.
"Today we have your favorite shredded potatoes, but it seems that there are not many left. You wait here, I will talk to Sun Ning and see if he can save some for you?" As he spoke, Huang Lei had already turned and gone into the kitchen.
Zhao Yuenan swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue.
Huang Lei was right. The line for food was so long that when it was Zhao Yuenan's turn, the shredded potatoes were really gone. She couldn't help feeling a little disappointed. She simply took two steamed buns, some rice, and returned to the dining table with the lunch box.
A moment later, Huang Lei came running over from the kitchen with a cheerful smile: "Yuen Nan, your shredded potatoes. I discussed it with Sun Ning for a long time before he agreed to leave them for us. Come on and eat."
Zhao Yuenan's eyes suddenly turned red as she looked at the shredded potatoes.
"What's wrong with you?" Huang Lei asked when he saw that she was in a bad mood.
"It's okay." Zhao Yuenan shook her head slightly.
"Eat it quickly!" Huang Lei pushed the shredded potatoes in front of her and said.
Zhao Yuenan took a bite of shredded potatoes and put it in his mouth, smiling meaningfully: "Delicious."
