After dinner, Zheng Xinyi left a sweet kiss on Cheng Haoyu's face and gently reminded him, "I'm going to the hospital. You should rest well at home and wait for me to come back."
"I'll take you to the hospital." As he spoke, Cheng Haoyu had already stood up and picked up his coat.
"No need, really. You haven't had a good rest since you came back from the battlefield. Look at you, you have dark circles under your eyes again." Zheng Xinyi pointed at his eyes and said.
"Xinyi, I'm not tired, really. I just want to take you to the hospital. After I take you there, I will come back to rest." Cheng Haoyu said stubbornly.
Zheng Xinyi couldn't persuade him, so she had to follow his wishes. She didn't know if it was her hallucination or what was going on?
Zheng Xinyi always felt that Cheng Haoyu became particularly attached to her after returning from the battlefield this time, as if he was reluctant to leave her. The more he held on to her like this, the more anxious Xinyi felt.
"Okay, I'm here." Zheng Xinyi stood at the door of the military hospital and said with a smile.
"Well! You must take good care of yourself and the baby in your belly. Don't let yourself get too tired. If anything happens, call Huang Lei and Zhao Yuenan immediately and ask them to go home and inform me in time." Cheng Haoyu reminded with full of worry.
"Okay, I know, I know everything. You should go back and rest!" Zheng Xinyi interrupted him.
"Come in! I'll wait until you go in before I leave." Cheng Haoyu waved his arm at her.
Zheng Xinyi glanced at him helplessly, with the corners of her mouth slightly raised. Just as she was about to turn around, the sudden sound of an ambulance completely attracted her attention.
"Doctor Zheng, there are several seriously injured soldiers on the bus who have just been brought back from the front line. Come and help!" Doctor Deng called out while he was busy taking care of the wounded.
Zheng Xinyi didn't even have time to change her clothes before running over to help.
"This patient is seriously injured. Please be careful," said Dr. Deng, pointing at the bloody patient on the stretcher.
Under all these circumstances, how could Cheng Haoyu just sit back and watch? And how could he go back to sleep peacefully?
"Let me help." Cheng Haoyu reached out to lift the stretcher.
The wounded man on the stretcher grimaced in pain. The moment he saw Cheng Haoyu, he felt an inexplicable sense of intimacy in his heart. He slowly took something out of his pocket and took Cheng Haoyu's hand with a dying attitude, begging weakly: "If I die, please help me give this to my wife."
Cheng Haoyu was stunned for a moment, his body stiffened, and he looked at the wounded man with blood all over his face with some surprise. The corners of his mouth rose slightly, and then he fell into a coma completely.
Cheng Haoyu spread out his palms, and his eyes suddenly turned red. In his palms fell a shining golden five-pointed star, stained with his blood.
"Xinyi, how is this man's injury? Is his life in danger?" Cheng Haoyu inexplicably felt distressed for this soldier, and asked while pulling Zheng Xinyi's arm.
"The bullet hit his chest. The injury must be serious, but it's hard to say whether he can save his life." Zheng Xinyi responded in detail, then quickly changed her clothes and entered the operating room.
"Everyone, come and help quickly." The hospital corridors were filled with the hurried footsteps of medical staff.
"Captain Cheng, if you have nothing to do, please come and lend a hand?" The dean even stepped forward personally.
Cheng Haoyu put the five-pointed star into his pocket and started to get busy following the dean's steps.
