"Xinyi, why don't you not go to the hospital today? I don't know why, but my right eyelid is twitching so much. I always feel like something is going to happen." Early in the morning, Bai Cuiping said, pulling Zheng Xinyi's arm.
"How can that be possible? The military hospital is in need of manpower right now, I can't not go." Zheng Xinyi responded.
"But...!" Bai Cuiping had a strong bad premonition in her heart, but she couldn't explain where this feeling came from. In short, she had a strong feeling that something might happen to Zheng Xinyi.
"Cui Ping, don't be suspicious anymore. Don't worry! I will take care of myself in a while." Zheng Xinyi patted her arm with a smile, then picked up her coat and turned to leave.
Bai Cuiping watched her back as she walked away, frowning slightly. She knew she couldn't stop Xinyi, so she could only pray that she was overthinking it and hoped that everything would be normal today.
Zheng Xinyi came to the military hospital as usual and quickly complained to her work.
"Everyone, please help hold him." In the hospital corridor, Dr. Deng and several medical staff shouted loudly while chasing the wounded in front of them.
Zheng Xinyi looked around and saw that the wounded man's eyes were wrapped in gauze. He was running forward with his arms and legs bared. Because he couldn't see, he bumped into the nurse holding the treatment tray next to him and the wounded who were passing by. Because of his non-cooperation, the whole hospital was in chaos and people were thrown to the ground.
"Soldier, listen to me. We are not bad people. This is a military hospital. We are here to save you. Please cooperate with us." The dean made a quiet gesture to everyone, and then explained to him in a calm tone.
The man pricked up his ears and listened carefully to the movements around him.
"Don't be afraid, we are all medical staff from the military hospital. We are here to save you." The dean approached him slowly.
"Ah, it hurts." The sudden scream in the ward immediately angered the wounded man.
The dean was about to approach him, but the shouting made him completely lose his mind. He casually drew the dagger from his waist and pointed at the surroundings: "Don't come over here, you little Japanese, if you dare to come over, I will die with you. I, Han Lei, would rather die than fall into your hands."
"Calm down first, calm down, put the knife down. We are compatriots, compatriots. Can't you even recognize the voices of your compatriots?" The dean repeatedly persuaded.
"You bunch of liars, I, Han Lei, will not be fooled so easily." As he spoke, Han Lei stabbed the dean with the dagger in his hand.
"Everyone, stop him quickly." Huang Lei called out loudly.
The scene was in chaos at the time. All the medical staff present attacked together, hoping to snatch the dagger from his hand. However, Han Lei was a soldier after all. He had received formal training from the army and was very agile. He used the dagger in his hand to cut many medical staff.
He roared like a madman: "Everyone, step back. If you take another step forward, I will kill you."
Han Lei kept waving the dagger in his hand while speaking.
Zheng Xinyi stood behind him, staring at him intently, eager to find the right opportunity to knock him to the ground and give everyone a chance to grab the dagger.
