Zheng Xinyi and Bai Cuiping were lying on the bed, seemingly calm, but in fact their eyes were wide open, and they had no intention of falling asleep. It was not until dawn that Bai Cuiping fell into a drowsy sleep.

As soon as Zheng Xinyi entered the military hospital, she felt that the atmosphere was not right. Doctor Deng and Li Qing's faces were ashen.

"Then what happened to you?" Zheng Xinyi asked.
Doctor Deng and Li Qing lowered their heads slightly. Zheng Xinyi stared wide-eyed, waiting for their response. Doctor Deng's eyes were red for a long moment. "It was Captain Cheng's subordinate. Last night in the early hours, an ambulance brought him to the hospital. He was covered in blood. Li Qing and I tried our best to save him, but in the end, we couldn't."
Dr. Deng and Li Qing were filled with guilt and self-blame, and more importantly, they felt helpless.
Although she knew that the person in trouble was not Cheng Haoyu, Zheng Xinyi still felt very uncomfortable after receiving this news.
"It seems that the battle situation ahead is very dangerous. I don't know how many more of our compatriots will sacrifice on the battlefield next?" Zheng Xinyi frowned slightly and said with red eyes.
"Yes! I don't know when this war will end?" Dr. Deng looked up at the sky and said meaningfully.
"Xinyi, Xinyi, I'm here to bring you food." Bai Cuiping called out in the hospital corridor with the prepared food.
Zheng Xinyi came to her senses and quickly wiped away the tears from her eyes. She turned to Dr. Deng and Li Qing and said, "Don't let Cuiping know about this for now. The more people who know, the more sad and nervous they will be."
Dr. Deng and Li Qing nodded slightly, then went about their business.
"Xinyi, I've brought you lunch." Bai Cuiping handed her the lunch box with a smile.
"Cui Ping, you've worked hard. You should go back and accompany Chongyang! I'll eat in a while." Zheng Xinyi responded in a very calm tone.
"No, I must watch you finish your meal here with my own eyes before I leave." Bai Cuiping said stubbornly. Because of her special status now, Bai Cuiping was afraid that she would not eat if she turned around.
