Chapter 8: Not Stupid Anymore

The next morning, Cuihua just got up and saw a figure moving in the kitchen. She strode over and saw Zheng Xinyi cooking. This shocked Cuihua. She was not stupid and thought she was already very happy. How could Zheng Xinyi, who had never cooked since she was a child, cook?

She quickly pulled Xinyi over and when she lifted the lid of the pot, she was completely dumbfounded. She turned to the cheerful Xinyi behind her and said, "Did you make this cabbage soup and vegetable dumplings?"

Zheng Xinyi nodded slightly: "Yes!"

After the dishes were laid out, Zheng Xinyue lazily climbed out of bed. Zheng Shaochun, who was sitting at the dining table, piped up his long pipe and said to her, who was yawning repeatedly, "Your brother is working in the yard. Go and call him in for dinner."

Except for Cuihua, everyone else picked up the vegetable dumplings and took a bite. Zheng Shaochun immediately sensed something was wrong and said to Cuihua, who was sitting beside him in a daze, "You didn't make this vegetable dumpling?"

"Dad, what's wrong?" Zheng Xinwei asked.

"I've been eating your mother's cooking for so many years, I know what her cooking tastes like." Zheng Shaochun said seriously.

Zheng Xinyue took a bite of the vegetable dumpling and widened her eyes: "This vegetable dumpling does taste different from the ones I usually eat. It tastes better than usual." After she finished speaking, she quickly drank a mouthful of soup: "This hot one tastes better than usual."

"Today's meal was indeed not made by me. It was all made by Xinyi." Cuihua said slowly.

The others were all surprised, staring at Zheng Xinyi with an expression of disbelief.

"I just made something simple. I don't know if it suits your taste?" Zheng Xinyi, who felt a little uncomfortable being stared at by them, stroked the back of her head and smiled slightly.

Zheng Xinyue's eyes widened and she pulled her arm: "Sister, when did you learn to cook? Why don't I know?"

"I just kept watching my mom and the neighborhood aunts do it. I learned it after watching for a long time." Zheng Xinyi said a little guiltily.

"Sister, I suddenly feel that you are really great." Zheng Xinyue looked at her with admiration.

Zheng Xinyi suddenly felt that Zheng Xinyue was really cute. The Zheng family members were easy to get along with and were genuinely kind to her, especially her brother Zheng Xinwei. Although he looked honest and fawning, he loved his silly sister very much. If anyone dared to call him silly, he would beat him with a stick.

Suddenly I felt that although the original owner was born with dementia, he was very happy.

"Xinyi, what are you thinking about? Eat quickly, otherwise Xinyue will eat it all in a short time." Cuihua handed her a vegetable dumpling.

Zheng Xinyue curled her lips: "Mom, you are partial."

Zheng Xinwei looked at his younger sister's coquettish look, smiled, put the last bite of the vegetable dumpling in his hand into his mouth, and said to Zheng Xinyi in a unclear voice: "Today's breakfast is really delicious, my second sister is really great."

"Okay, okay, you guys are praising me so much that I feel flattered." Zheng Xinyi did feel a little embarrassed.

I got up, cleared the dishes and went into the kitchen.

Cuihua glanced at the figure who had been watching Zheng Xinyi enter the kitchen, and her heart was filled with joy: "Our daughter is really not stupid anymore. I don't have to worry about not being able to sleep at night anymore."

Zheng Shaochun rolled his eyes at her, as if to say she was just looking at him for fun and had no ambition at all. "I'm going to help Xinwei with some chores in the yard."

Holding his pipe, he stood up and left happily.
