"Uncle, give us two bowls of noodles and two side dishes." Because the clinic has been very busy recently, Zheng Xinyi has not had time to buy vegetables. Since she agreed to provide meals, she has to eat well. In the past, when she was busy and tired, Zheng Xinyi would just eat a casual bite, buy two steamed buns or sesame cakes, as long as she could fill her stomach.
"Xinyi, is Zhou Shui okay?" the old man asked cheerfully, holding a bowl of noodles.
Zheng Xinyi smiled and glanced at Zhou Shui who was eating noodles in big mouthfuls: "Very satisfied."
After he finished speaking, Zhou Shui looked at Zheng Xinyi while eating noodles, with a smile on his face. This girl is so cute.
Since the opening day, Zheng Xinyi has not seen Huang San and his wife again. It is probably because the factory is a bit busy and there are not as many patients in the afternoon as on weekdays, so Zheng Xinyi closed the door early, took out two two-pound jujubes from the space, and decided to take Zhou Shui to visit Huang San and his wife and the old man in the convenience store. After all, Zhou Shui, whom she hired, did not know the people around her yet.
"I'll get the things." Zhou Shui tactfully took the things from Zheng Xinyi's hand, and the two walked side by side.
As Zheng Xinyi and Zhou Shui walked into the store, they heard a loud bang inside, as if something had fallen to the ground, followed by the old man's painful cries.
Zheng Xinyi felt that something was wrong, so she took two quick steps and found herself in the inner kitchen. A basin of water had fallen upside down on the floor, and the old man had fallen directly to the ground, holding his waist with his hands while grimacing.
"Uncle, are you okay?" Zheng Xiyi quickly reached out to help him.
"No, my waist, my waist can't move." The old man was sweating from the pain.
"He must have sprained his ankle. We need to take him to the clinic right away." Zheng Xinyi turned to Zhou Shui and said.
Zhou Shui put down the jujube in his hand, carried the old man on his back with great ease, and winked at Zheng Xinyi: "Let's go!"
Zheng Xinyi was responsible for locking the door of the canteen, and then followed Zhou Shui to the clinic and said, "Put the old man on the bed."
Zhou Shui followed Zheng Xinyi's instructions and carefully placed the old man on the bed. Zheng Xinyi reached out and touched him, then asked him a few questions. She was relieved to find out that the old man didn't have a broken bone, just a sprain.
"Xinyi, is my back pain serious?" the old man began to worry.
Zheng Xinyi comforted him while grabbing some herbs: "Uncle, don't worry, it's just a simple sprain. I'll give you some medicine and it will be healed in a few days."
"This is for pain relief. Give it to the old man first." Zheng Xinyi said to Zhou Shui.
Zhou Shui was very careful in taking care of the old man. He held the medicine in one hand and water in the other, and slowly helped the old man up. He carefully put the painkiller into his mouth, then slowly fed him water and patted his chest to help him swallow the medicine better.
"I'm really old and useless." The old man lay on the bed, frowning, sighing from the bottom of his heart.
Zheng Xinyi knew the loneliness and helplessness in his heart. She sat beside him, holding his hand, full of intimacy: "Uncle, don't say that. If you are willing, please accept me as your goddaughter! I will take care of you in the future and provide for your old age and death."
The old man's eyes immediately turned red. He looked at Zheng Xinyi, his lips trembling slightly. "I, Li Yi, have been busy all my life. I am about to be buried. If you recognize me as your godfather, wouldn't that add a burden to yourself?"
Zheng Xinyi cast a gentle gaze at him, a sunny smile on her lips: "I have no relatives here. If you are willing to accept me as your goddaughter, we will have a companion in the future."
