"What are you two doing?" The guard at the police station door stopped them in time.
Huang Lei handed him his ID. He looked at it, glanced at Huang Lei and Cheng Haoyu, and said in a slightly softer tone: "Hey! Soldiers, what are you doing here?"
"We want to see Zheng Xinyi." Cheng Haoyu said bluntly.
"Zheng Xinyi from Xinyi Clinic?" the caretaker asked.
"That's right." Huang Lei responded promptly.
"She is a serious criminal now. The regulations prohibit casual visits. Please go back!" said the guard seriously.
Cheng Haoyu and Huang Lei exchanged a glance, and then Huang Lei, grinning, pulled out two yuan from his trouser pocket, slipped it into Cheng Haoyu's hand, and whispered in his ear, "Zheng Xinyi is our old friend. Please, be flexible."
The caretaker looked at the two yuan in his hand and glanced at Huang Lei. He didn't expect that this guy was quite knowledgeable about the market. He smiled slightly and said, "Okay, come with me!"
The guard said to the police officer guarding the cell, "Open the door."
"Nothing has been finalized yet, why did you lock her up in the cell?" Cheng Haoyu looked at the cell door, full of anger.
The guard raised his head slightly over his shoulder and cast a sharp gaze at Cheng Haoyu. Huang San gently pushed Cheng Haoyu and smiled slightly: "The person inside is his sweetheart, so he is anxious. Don't be surprised."
"Now the evidence is conclusive. She herself has admitted that she wrote the prescription herself." The person guarding the cell said as he opened the door for them.
In the cold cell, Zheng Xinyi curled up helplessly in a small corner. Cheng Haoyu's heart felt like it was being tightened by a cane: "Xinyi, Xinyi."
"You only have ten minutes. If the higher-ups find out, I will be punished." The police officer guarding the cell reminded them.
Huang Lei turned around and handed him a dollar: "Thank you, brother."
Zheng Xinyi, crouching in her cell, weeping in frustration, heard the shouting and looked up, thinking she was hallucinating. She wiped the tears from her face, like a lion secretly licking its wounds in a cave. Seeing the people closest to her, she could no longer hold back and burst into tears: "Cheng Haoyu, Huang Lei, why are you here?"
"Xinyi, don't worry, we will definitely find a way to save you." Cheng Haoyu looked at her as if to say, "You must believe me."
"Do you believe that I was wronged?" Zheng Xinyi asked with her eyes wide open.
"Of course, it's not just us, but also the Sun family from the grocery store and the uncle and son from the noodle shop. They all believe that you were framed." Huang Lei responded from the side.
Zheng Xinyi's dark heart suddenly became filled with sunshine. Her brows furrowed slightly, but an indescribable smile appeared on her lips. She wiped away the tears that kept falling and said from the bottom of her heart: "Thank you, thank you."
"Xinyi, our time is limited. You must tell us everything that happened that night without missing a word." While Cheng Haoyu felt sorry for Xinyi, he still remained rational.
Zheng Xinyi told them everything about the pawnshop lady's visit to see a doctor that night.
"It seems that the root source is the pawnshop lady." Cheng Haoyu analyzed.
"It's time." The policeman guarding the cell came in and urged.
"Xinyi, don't worry, we will definitely find a way to save you." Huang Lei said.
"Xinyi, wait for us, you must wait for us." Cheng Haoyu said.
Zheng Xinyi cried and nodded vigorously.
