Chapter 98 Framed

After coming out of the cell, the two went straight to the pawnshop where the old lady was bargaining with an antique dealer. Cheng Haoyu slammed his palm on the table and cast a fixed gaze at the old lady, frightening everyone in the shop. The antique dealer quickly picked up his vase and said, "Madam, I'll come back another day to pawn it."

"Hey, don't leave! The price isn't right, we can negotiate." The old woman was about to chase after them, but Huang Lei held out his hand and stopped her. The boss lady rolled her eyes at them and asked unhappily, "What are you two doing here? You scared away all my customers."

"I heard that your cousin is now bedridden because she took the medicine prescribed by Miss Xinyi, so we want to see your cousin." Cheng Haoyu didn't want to waste time talking to her and said directly.

The pawnshop lady looked at him with disdain, and a truly ridiculous smile appeared on her lips: "Why should I let you see my cousin?"

"Because we suspect that you framed Miss Xinyi, you are too humble to let us meet your cousin, right?" Huang Lei asked.

"Frame Xinyi? Do you have any evidence? If not, I will sue you for false accusation." The pawnshop owner said with confidence.

Cheng Haoyu and Huang Lei looked at each other. Cheng Haoyu gave a look, Huang Lei nodded slightly, turned and left. The pawnshop owner looked at his departing back and had a bad premonition. Her black eyeballs kept rolling in her white eyeballs.

Cheng Haoyu's sharp eyes approached her: "If you want to sue us for false accusation, you have to wait until we can confirm whether your cousin is really bedridden."

"What do you mean?" the pawnshop owner asked with a guilty conscience.

"What we mean is that we need to verify whether your cousin's condition is really serious." Huang Lei pushed Lao Qian from the clinic next door over and said righteously.

"Uncle Qian, please check her cousin's condition." Cheng Haoyu and Huang Lei ignored the pawnshop owner's obstruction and went straight to the inner bedroom.

There was indeed a girl lying on the bed in the bedroom. Lao Qian put down his medicine box, felt her pulse and treated her. Finally, he said seriously: "This girl is indeed very ill."

Cheng Haoyu and Huang Lei looked at each other and uncertainly pulled Lao Qian: "Uncle Qian, please help us find a prescription."

After the words fell, Cheng Haoyu said to the pawnshop lady in a slightly commanding tone: "Bring out the prescription that Zheng Xinyi wrote for your cousin."

The pawnshop lady rolled her eyes at him and unhappily took the prescription. Cheng Haoyu snatched it away and handed it to Old Qian: "Uncle Qian, could you please take a look at this prescription? Is there anything wrong with it?"

As Old Qian packed up his medicine box, he responded, "I've read the prescription that Miss Xinyi sent me, and I do have some questions. The normal dosage of this tangerine peel tea is 30 grams, but it says 80 grams. The normal dosage of this raw licorice is 10 grams, but it says 70 grams."

Cheng Haoyu and Huang Lei were stunned. The pawnshop lady looked smug: "You came here so early in the morning to accuse me and scared away my customers. How are you going to settle this?"

"What do you want?" As he spoke, Cheng Haoyu had already put the prescription into his pocket.

"Hey, are you trying to destroy the evidence?" The pawnshop lady was trying to grab the prescription, but Huang Lei stopped her and looked at her with wide eyes. Her arrogant expression froze for a moment: "The police have already seen the prescription. It's useless even if you take it."

Cheng Haoyu ignored her and left with the prescription.
