Chapter 107 Butch
Zhang Wei didn't want to know at all, she just wanted to leave the bathroom quickly.
Although this bathroom was newly renovated and there was no peculiar smell, a toilet is still a toilet, and Zhang Wei didn't want to stay there anyway.
"They are in class, let's go back," Zhang Wei suggested.
"Okay, let's go look downstairs. I think I saw the wall over there. It seems to be near the stadium on the boys' school side. Let's go!"
Then she ran downstairs in a hurry. Zhang Wei followed her down the stairs slowly, not caring where she ran to.
Sure enough, when she went downstairs, Butch was no longer there.
Zhang Wei walked around and counted. Although the girls' school seemed to occupy only a small part of Dewen, there were seven or eight buildings of various sizes, but they were not too big. Half of the buildings were newly built, but the overall style was inspired by the previous buildings, and the overall look was still good.
Moreover, their open-air stadium seemed to be only separated from the boys' school by a wall, and Zhang Wei could even hear the cheers brought by the sports over there.
"Vera! Why are you walking so slowly? Come over here and help me!"
Zhang Wei turned into the stadium and saw the sneaky figure of the dog in the east, so she turned around and wanted to leave. However, unfortunately, she was discovered by Butch.
Then a camera was stuffed into her hand. Butch struggled to move a stone he had found from somewhere, and was about to use it as a cushion to look up. Zhang Wei's expression was a little hard to describe. She was a little worried that Butch would fall and accidentally hurt her:
"This wall is probably more than two meters high. Are you sure the stones under your feet are one meter high?"
"Maybe it's almost there, never mind, I'll look for another place."
Zhang Wei: It’s up to you. I won’t go out with you next time…
"It's getting late, I think I'll go back to the dorm."
Hearing Zhang Wei's words, Butch pursed his lips and said, "Okay."
Then she went on to suggest: "But I think you could consider finding a good white boyfriend, maybe it can improve the genes of the next generation."
"No, you're wrong. I don't think there's anything wrong with my genes!"
Zhang Wei didn't like to hear this. Based on her roommate's politeness and cooperation with her for so long, she was not really without temper.
"The fact that I can stand here and talk to you proves that my genes are good enough!"
Butch was startled by Zhang Wei's sudden outburst: "I...I was just joking. You Asians are too serious, haha!"
She laughed awkwardly twice.
Zhang Wei didn't think this was a joke. She finally understood why Butch spoke to her so casually at the beginning. Did she think she was superior?
She was just being polite, but Butch's true thoughts could be heard from his words. She looked down on Zhang Wei as an Asian and felt deep down that white people were superior.
"I don't like that joke, so don't play it on me again."
It was then that Zhang Wei realized that his elementary school classmates were different from his junior high school classmates.
When she met them, they were all still children, with simple hearts and only simple likes and dislikes. But now she needs to slowly identify who is the fellow traveler.
Obviously, this cute and lively-looking Butch is not.
"Okay, since you put it that way." Butch shrugged indifferently.
Then she immediately returned to her previous state, as if the conflict had never happened, and continued to spit out words like a machine gun:
"Why is everyone coming out?"
"I wonder if anyone is secretly approaching boys?"
“It seems like all our teachers are women.”
"What did the principal mean this morning? Did he say he treats us like boys?"
Zhang Wei felt that she was not mentally strong enough. Seeing her emotional changes at just the right time, she felt that she was not simple either. She could not get along with Butch without any grudges, so she could only say a few words to him in a disjointed manner.
But she seemed to feel nothing at all, and even asked Zhang Wei to go downstairs for dinner later.
This made Zhang Wei doubt whether what she heard Butch say before was just an illusion. Then she thought, could someone who could get the King's Scholarship be such a naive person?
Obviously not. Zhang Wei is not good at acting, so she decided to stay away from this master of emotional control. Whether she wants to learn to be the best or find a rich husband, it has nothing to do with her.
When they returned to the room, the Excellence Building was still very quiet. Zhang Wei suspected that only she and Butch couldn't help but go out, and the remaining ten were probably stay-at-home girls.
But dinner proved that she was wrong.
Because the girls on the third floor went to the library with Tracy, Zhang Wei only found out after Butch asked them.
Zhang Wei looked at Tracy. She didn't look like someone who liked group activities. After all, she always kept a distance from everyone.
Butch pouted and complained like a kid who didn't get candy:
"Ah, why don't you invite us to come? Vera and I are bored when we go around the campus together. The library here must be interesting, right? Tracy..."
Zhang Wei wanted to roll his eyes after hearing this: Boring... Is it boring to peek into the bathroom or boring to not be able to climb up the wall...
Tracy, whose name was called, chewed the food in his mouth slowly, put down his knife and fork, and said:
"We didn't make an appointment, we just happened to meet in the library."
"Yeah! Then we agreed with Tracy to go back to the dorm together."
Although Zhang Wei felt that Tracy did look like a lady of nobility, she didn't really have to flatter her like a princess!
Fortunately, except for Butch, the girls on the second floor were relatively normal. They looked like normal academic elites, but they all looked a little cold, including the Indian girl Alia.
When Zhang Wei saw her before, she thought that since they had met in the restaurant before, they would be able to get to know each other more easily. However, she didn't expect that there had been no chance except for some polite greetings.
However, Zhang Wei felt that this appropriate distance was okay. For the time being, they were like strangers sharing a house. With Butch's previous experience as a lesson, it was not a bad idea to keep a distance.
Butch probably sensed that there was a conflict between her and her roommates on the second floor. From the first night, Zhang Wei could hear the "bang bang bang" sound of her running up and down. It seemed that she got along well with the students on the third floor.
Around nine o'clock in the evening, Zhang Wei heard a series of knocks on the door. She was taking a shower and it was impossible for her to go out in the middle of it.
At first she thought it was Grandma Mia, but as the knocking became more rapid and showed no sign of stopping, she knew it was not Grandma Mia, because she only knocked gently three times and then stopped.
The sound was very irritating. Zhang Wei was about to wash up and open the door when he seemed to hear a loud shout. He couldn't make out what was said, and the knocking stopped immediately.
