Chapter 238 Shura Field

Chapter 238 Shura Field

"After being away for so long, do you miss home?"

Zhang Wei looked at the plane that was about to land and asked Paris next to him.

“A little bit, but we didn’t go for long.”

"Soon?"

Zhang Wei counted and found that it had been almost twenty days since she left New York City and returned to New York City today. She felt that she had done a lot of things and it seemed like a long time had passed.

"Thank you, Paris. If I had gone alone, things wouldn't have gone so smoothly this time."

This time she was really grateful to Paris. He not only served as a logistics support, but Zhang Wei also used him to bully others many times. Zhang Wei felt quite safe when going out with him. Although her own fighting skills were also good, they were completely useless this time.

"I've never been to these places in China. This is a very rare experience for me. Besides, traveling with you can be considered as fulfilling the promise we made after returning from Central Park more than ten years ago."

Zhang Wei then remembered that they had made an appointment to travel together again after returning from Central Park, but apart from the class graduation trip later, they never had the chance again.

Paris's words made Zhang Wei feel a little ashamed, and she promised:

"I didn't let you have a good time this time, so I owe you one. Next time I will be a good guide and let you experience the best scenery in China."

Paris smiled and nodded, "Okay, then you must do what you say."

Manny said he would pick her up at the airport, so Zhang Wei asked Paris to go along, and he didn't park the car at the airport.

After getting the luggage and leaving the station, Zhang Wei didn't see Manny, so she waited for a while with Paris. She saw that Paris looked hesitant, as if he had something to say, so she asked:

"What's wrong with you? Is there something troubling you?"

Paris looked at her, thought for a moment and said:

"You don't let Xiao Hui call me 'brother-in-law' because—"

When he said the word "brother-in-law", his pronunciation was very standard, and Zhang Wei's face was immediately flushed with embarrassment.

"No!" Zhang Wei suddenly spoke without thinking, and said immediately without caring what he said.

"Vera!" Someone happened to be calling her from a distance. Zhang Wei hurriedly turned around and responded to get rid of the embarrassing situation.

Then she saw a person she had never expected walking up to her with a bouquet of roses.

"I heard from Namir that you like the roses in your backyard. Oh, as for why I'm here, it's because Namir and I agreed to come travel here and stay at your house. Your brother Manny said that his girlfriend happened to have an emergency today. I said I was free, so, uh, I volunteered to pick you up!"

Zhang Wei was a little confused as he looked at Oroi who was talking like a machine gun.

Her understanding of Oroi was limited to the fact that he was Namiel's good friend, and that he looked like conjoined twins with Samuel. Oh, and he was also a weirdo who got up very early and liked to squat against the wall.

Oroi was obviously a little nervous. He held out the rose in his hand, and the flower trembled slightly, just like his trembling heart.

Just as Zhang Wei was about to reach out to take it, a pair of bony hands came out from the side and took the flower. Then they said:

"You take the luggage, I'll help you with this!"

Then Paris pushed his suitcase to Zhang Wei, who immediately took it and said:

"Oh, okay!"

When Oroi saw the man who suddenly appeared, he didn't react for a moment and murmured:

"Namir only said you came back from abroad, he didn't say you weren't alone."

Zhang Wei looked at the bright red rose in Paris's hand. Although she didn't want to be so narcissistic, could this guy want to confess his love to her?

She had just been embarrassed with Paris about the title of "brother-in-law", and now someone came who made her even more embarrassed. She didn't know how to react.

Seeing that Paris and Oroi were both looking at her, Zhang Wei seemed to feel a questioning gaze. Damn, why did she feel a little guilty under such a gaze?

Fortunately, she was able to distinguish between relatives and strangers, and immediately said to Paris:

"This is Oroi, Namier's classmate. Manny asked him to pick us up."

Seeing Paris's tense expression ease, Zhang Wei breathed a sigh of relief.

She continued to introduce Paris to Oroi: "This is Paris, a friend I grew up with. This time we are traveling to China together."

Paris then shook hands with Oroi and said hello calmly, and then left the airport in Oroi's car.

Zhang Wei thought Paris would not get in the car and go home by himself, as he seemed to have a bad aura with Oroi, but unexpectedly, he still got in the car.

Then in the car, Zhang Wei tried to find topics to make the situation less awkward:

"Oroi, why did you come to New City?"

"I've been here for a week. I heard you were going abroad for a conference, but I didn't expect you were actually going on a trip."

"Well, the meeting ended early. It's a rare opportunity to go to China, so I stayed a little longer."

"Did Mr. Lin go to China specifically to accompany Vera?"

"He—" Zhang Wei was about to say that he went back to his hometown to see it, but Paris replied even faster:

"Yes, Vera and I had agreed to travel together."

"A promise we made when we were kids?"

"Yes, she always missed the time we traveled together as children."

"Vera is a really great travel companion. When we went on a study tour in Scotland together, she made delicious sandwiches."

Zhang Wei: You guys are having a great chat. It seems like you don’t need me to liven up the atmosphere.

Zhang Wei felt that the atmosphere of their conversation was a bit weird, and didn't dare to interrupt them.

She texted Namir: "Why did you ask Oroi to pick me up? Isn't your sister worthy of your noble presence?"

Namir immediately replied: It was Manny who said you looked like a nun. Oroi kept asking him about your whereabouts, and he decided to give you a chance to get rid of being single.

Zhang Wei: Don't you know I came back with Paris? Paris didn't seem to like him very much. The atmosphere in the car wasn't very good. It's all because of you meddling in other people's business!

Namir: That bastard Manny didn't say anything. Damn it, I knew Paris had bad intentions. You wouldn't give him a chance, would you?

Zhang Wei: Do you look like you want me to find a partner?

Namir: Oroi is simple-minded, unlike Paris, who sticks to you every day at such a young age. He is so scheming!

Zhang Wei: Don't make random assumptions about others. Neither Paris nor Oroi have ever expressed anything beyond friendship to me. I'll be home soon, so don't talk nonsense!

Zhang Wei finally issued a warning. She was almost led astray by Namier, and no one had said anything to her yet. She didn't need to think about so many things for the time being.

After she finished messaging Namir and stopped, she realized the car had become quiet again. She didn't know when the car had stopped.

"Mr. Lin, you mean you live here?"
